One good thing is that even with the 8-1 loss we are now back to neutral goal difference

If I'm correct, that's the 1st time in almost two years that we have won two consecutive league games.
We all suspected these fellas would need a little bit of time, but by God they are starting to deliver. All the crap we have had to deal with already this season too, but we finally have a team playing for the badge and a real feel good factor finding its way back.

Only going off SealsLive commentary though.

Controlled the game tonight! Kiddie passed the ball well but our very high line and quick pressing made life very difficult for them. Hughes and Murray were outstanding but overall the whole team gave 100% and more. The penalty for the handball was harsh. Definitely keep the four centre backs in the back line worked well. Anyone know if Dudley went off injured?

Given the reaction Kane Richards got when he came on, I cannot wait for McCarthy and Southport to rock up. Bliss.

Woohoo!!! Well that was fanbloodytastic. From start to finish we were absolutely outstanding and were well worthy winners against a good Kidderminster outfit. Our desire, heart, composure, grit, determination and steel was all on show which contributed to a resounding win. The manner in which we won was excellent too as we grafted non-stop.
The first half was pretty even with both sides up for it. Anthony Dudley put us ahead early on with a cool penalty which set the tone for an entertaining encounter. Kidderminster created a few openings and played some decent direct football, hence they started to come into this. On the other hand, ourselves dealt with any pressure really well defensively and played some brilliant football. No offence is intended to Scott Burton, but we were very fortunate to have Iwan Murray starting as he played an influential role towards this victory. His height gives him a disadvantage, but smaller footballers are typically more pacy and skilful than larger players. Those factors worked extremely well for him, and a standing ovation was the least he deserved. Since that 8-1 drubbing at Blyth, our defence has gelled together really well, and almost managed to keep 5 clean sheets in 9 games which would be a marvellous record. Steve Howson and Jon Moran both dealt with Kiddy successfully, whilst Simon Grand was vocal as ever.
The second period was an improvement on the first, although we went into the break with a deserved lead. Matty Hughes was sublime as soon as he came on. I’m delighted for him to finally get off the mark with a brace, and boy did he deserve it. He caused the Kidderminster defence nightmares and his link-up play was a joy to watch. In most areas, you can argue our second half showing was mostly based on an exceptional off-the-ball performance. I’m sure that our players will undergo a good night’s sleep, as their work rate was absolutely phenomenal. In recent seasons, most of our matches have been covered in headlines of ‘’yet again, another dross showing consisting of little heart, fight or effort.’’ Step forward this squad, who press and press and press. The character they have shown (after Blyth and Telford especially) has been too drawer, resulting in a 5-game unbeaten run. Us Chester supporters have been crying out for a competitive team for a couple of years, but I think that we are beginning to establish an answer. Kidderminster scored a penalty which livened up the atmosphere a little, but again we dug in deep to prevent the dreaded equaliser. Matty Hughes put the gloss on the scoreline with another well-worked goal which has sent me beaming back home.
I’m afraid there must be one negative though, which is of course the attendance. 1,500 is very poor for a Tuesday night in September, especially with us coming into this game in the middle of a good run. Why would anyone want to watch a meaningless game between Galatasary and Lokomotiv Moscow, where you can watch your local side live in a much more caring environment. Hopefully more will turn up on Saturday and maybe we can take a strong following to Chorley if we keep this up.
All in all, an absolutely fantastic night to be a Chester FC supporter. We have just ended a good Kidderminster side’s unbeaten run, who train full time by the way and have extended our own unbeaten run to 5 games. Also, we are level on points with the play-off positions with 2 games in hand still to go. Success takes time to get going, so we must continue to give our players and staff our full support. As was shown tonight a good, vocal atmosphere will spurr them onto achieve what we all want. The sense of togetherness at the final whistle is what I want to be witnessing every single week.
We now move onto another home game as we host City Of Liverpool in the FA Cup on Saturday. This will be a banana skin we must be aware about, but we must continue to give 100%. Things are definitely looking up for us now - and by the way, NONE of my videos have magically disappeared so stay tuned for an enjoyable vlog. UP THE SEALS!

That was a solid display they were excellent throughout - Kidderminster played a good passing game but appeared toothless up front we sat back and hit them on the break hard - I'm a tad worried about the amount of injuries stacking up though - Young lad Ewan played really well for his first start and the youth are adapting again - Up to 9th and win game in hand up to 4th its looking good

They had a lot of quick and tricky players who were also strong on the ball. They did look dangerous quite often and you can see why they've put so many teams away so far.
All that said, they actually created little of real note because we were equal to almost everything. I still thought they got in behind us too easy a few times but generally it was another solid defensive showing - they won hardly anything in the air in our box all night.
Going forward we looked much better than against FCUM and I thought we proved to be a real handful all night. Does anyone know what Dudley went off with? That said, Hughesy isn't a bad replacement!

Absolutely brilliant performance tonight. Down to the bare bones with burton pulling up in the warm up but his replacement Murray was outstanding. As were they all to be fair. Last week I left the ground so down hearted but what a difference a week makes. Despite the injury crisis players look like they want to hold on to their place. It was the best I've seen Hughes play since returning. The two in the middle covered every blade of grass. Four centre backs looked solid and headed a lot of ball away when Kiddie went route one. Mahon was a man possessed. Credit to all involved and hopefully performances like this will see the crowds return.

A joy to watch that game.
Iwan deserved his MOTM, quite a debut!
Superb team performance against a VERY good Kidderminster side. This team has the makings of something and is unrecognisable from the utter pile of shit that turned out for us against Kidderminster away last year.
I'd still settle for a solid Top 7 finish this year and wouldn't want to get too carried away but I suspect our managers and players have other ideas. Bring it on.
Well done guys.

Excellent performance. Defensively we are playing as a unit. Moran had a good game at right back and we won everything, in the air that came into the box. Gary Roberts was outstanding. Murray was excellent and Stopford never stopped running. Hughes was well worth his brace.Couldnt fault anyone tonight. Everyone put a shift in. And Jordan caused them problems, when he came on, with his pace. Really starting to gel and I fancy us to get a result at Chorley, if we play like that.

We may not be the best footballing team to watch, but we are very effective. Defensively we're a lot more solid not playing fullbacks, but playing with the 4 central defenders. Mahon and Mooney can run up and down all day, so no need to over commit fullbacks to overlap. Roberts and Stopforth must be horrible to play against, proper terriers pressuring teams. Very chuffed for Hughes, a few in the Harry Mac were saying that he hadn't scored or delivered this season yet... what a way to prove them wrong. Won his fair share of headers too. Its actually kind of scary to think that we played at least a half tonight without our 2 main strikers (Dudley and Smalley), attacking midfielder once he's fit (Green) and the club captain, and still looked as convincing as we did. I think we'll be alright this year.

“Sent to Chester from heaven Gary Stopforth you are my world”.
Chester Lads Club 3 Kidderminster Kick back to Keeper 1
Cleggy get the Indie Disco @ Cruise fired up as it’s going to be a long night of Piercy Partying. It’s going to be a Hacienda revival in Cruise tonight.
Someone get Messi Murray a fake ID as he is going to be out partying until he has to be back in school at 8.45 am
Rio, get the phone charged up as there is going to be some serious moves on the dance floor from Messrs Murray, Hughes, Mahon, Roberts, Dudders and Dangerous Dan. It will need to be filmed. These lads have got some serious footwork as they danced around Kidderminster like they weren’t there.
Kane Richards will be in there as well telling all the ladies he’s a professional footballer who played for Derby. However, it will be handsome Simon Grand who grabs their attention.

Every player played their part tonight just brilliant On another note the ref who wasn't too bad (seen a lot worse) didn't seem to know when to blow up for full time no indication to linesmen to hold up board for time to be added I think he just had guess in the end due to all the whistles from chester fans.

Kiddy were forced to go long because we defended from the front we didn’t allow them to play out from the back like they like to do, the work rate of the players was incredible and we fully deserved the 3 points. Looking forward to Saturday now and hope some of our part time armchair fans get down to the ground and support the players.
