We may not be the best footballing team to watch, but we are very effective. Defensively we're a lot more solid not playing fullbacks, but playing with the 4 central defenders. Mahon and Mooney can run up and down all day, so no need to over commit fullbacks to overlap. Roberts and Stopforth must be horrible to play against, proper terriers pressuring teams. Very chuffed for Hughes, a few in the Harry Mac were saying that he hadn't scored or delivered this season yet... what a way to prove them wrong. Won his fair share of headers too. Its actually kind of scary to think that we played at least a half tonight without our 2 main strikers (Dudley and Smalley), attacking midfielder once he's fit (Green) and the club captain, and still looked as convincing as we did. I think we'll be alright this year. Agree although no way you can call Smalley one of our two main strikers!

Gutted I've missed tonight and missing Saturday. What a game to win, kiddy look like they were flying and everyone needs to shout it from the rooftops. There is good football getting played and we are winning at home again.

Excellent performance. Defensively we are playing as a unit. Moran had a good game at right back and we won everything, in the air that came into the box. Gary Roberts was outstanding. Murray was excellent and Stopford never stopped running. Hughes was well worth his brace.Couldnt fault anyone tonight. Everyone put a shift in. And Jordan caused them problems, when he came on, with his pace. Really starting to gel and I fancy us to get a result at Chorley, if we play like that. All pace, no end product it sadly. Very jittery on the ball and unsure what to do once he's beat his man. He is a young lad who has played a handful of games. Jesus Christ give him time.

It will be interesting to see how much of Miller we see, I'd place him a few places down both the wingers and potential forwards lists.

Great result and a really gritty display against a good footballing team. The defense looked solid but I think it was out midfield that won us the game. Outstanding work rate and a proper team performance. The team was set up really well and the tactics were spot on. Again the work rate was superb!

Absolutely brilliant performance tonight. Down to the bare bones with burton pulling up in the warm up but his replacement Murray was outstanding. As were they all to be fair. Last week I left the ground so down hearted but what a difference a week makes. Despite the injury crisis players look like they want to hold on to their place. It was the best I've seen Hughes play since returning. The two in the middle covered every blade of grass. Four centre backs looked solid and headed a lot of ball away when Kiddie went route one. Mahon was a man possessed. Credit to all involved and hopefully performances like this will see the crowds return. Kiddy were forced to go long because we defended from the front we didn’t allow them to play out from the back like they like to do, the work rate of the players was incredible and we fully deserved the 3 points. Looking forward to Saturday now and hope some of our part time armchair fans get down to the ground and support the players. Yes, I said at the time they had run out of ideas. They were nice to watch in the first half when they knocked it about although it all looked a bit futsal and over baked at times. We were deserved winners over the course of 90 minutes and I felt we played a more balanced game than them.

Excellent effort tonight. 100% effort from everyone. Iwan Murray rightly got man of the match, but the effort that All the players put in, MOM could have been shared by 11 players.🤪🤪🤪👍👍👍👍

Injured: Dom Smalley, Deane Smalley, Scott Burton, George Green, Matty Thompson, Anthony Dudley, Dan Mooney.
Cain Noble and Lloyd Marsh-Hughes both rested as they played in FA Cup Youth game last night.
Fingers crossed one or two come back for Saturday, but hats off to the rest of the squad for recent performances.
Anyone know what’s happened to Sean Miller? 🤔

After tonight and recent results I'm beginning to think that no team in this division will fancy playing against us. We're really starting to look like a team with a nice balance between strength/aggression and flair coupled with a phenomenal work rate. A real team performance tonight overcame a stylish but surprisingly toothless Kiddie outfit with, yet again in my opinion, Stopforth as MoM, closely followed by a number of others including "pocket rocket" Murray.
Absolutely chuffed for Matty Hughes - his second was a great strike which looked initially as a relatively simple chance but he made it look easy and took it well
The momentum is now beginning to build - for the first time in ages I can look forward to upcoming games against anyone without a feeling of trepidation. Long may it continue!

I'm guessing Stopforth ran home after the game? What an absolute animal. Would hate coming up against him.
Some players have to be told to run in training, Stopforth has to be told to stop, instead.

Didn't go tonight working delighted with that well done lads now I'm listening to mental as anything gonna live it up a bit Once you’ve done your shift get yourself up the indie disco. Cleggy will play that for you no danger. In fact he’s got a re-mix which goes “Hey Kane Richards with the sad face go to James Jennings’ place and get beaten up.” No throwing any bins in Cruise though. Jimmy Soul and Chris Piercy are working the door tonight and won’t tolerate any bins getting launched.

Woohoo!!! Well that was fanbloodytastic. From start to finish we were absolutely outstanding and were well worthy winners against a good Kidderminster outfit. Our desire, heart, composure, grit, determination and steel was all on show which contributed to a resounding win. The manner in which we won was excellent too as we grafted non-stop. The first half was pretty even with both sides up for it. Anthony Dudley put us ahead early on with a cool penalty which set the tone for an entertaining encounter. Kidderminster created a few openings and played some decent direct football, hence they started to come into this. On the other hand, ourselves dealt with any pressure really well defensively and played some brilliant football. No offence is intended to Scott Burton, but we were very fortunate to have Iwan Murray starting as he played an influential role towards this victory. His height gives him a disadvantage, but smaller footballers are typically more pacy and skilful than larger players. Those factors worked extremely well for him, and a standing ovation was the least he deserved. Since that 8-1 drubbing at Blyth, our defence has gelled together really well, and almost managed to keep 5 clean sheets in 9 games which would be a marvellous record. Steve Howson and Jon Moran both dealt with Kiddy successfully, whilst Simon Grand was vocal as ever. The second period was an improvement on the first, although we went into the break with a deserved lead. Matty Hughes was sublime as soon as he came on. I’m delighted for him to finally get off the mark with a brace, and boy did he deserve it. He caused the Kidderminster defence nightmares and his link-up play was a joy to watch. In most areas, you can argue our second half showing was mostly based on an exceptional off-the-ball performance. I’m sure that our players will undergo a good night’s sleep, as their work rate was absolutely phenomenal. In recent seasons, most of our matches have been covered in headlines of ‘’yet again, another dross showing consisting of little heart, fight or effort.’’ Step forward this squad, who press and press and press. The character they have shown (after Blyth and Telford especially) has been too drawer, resulting in a 5-game unbeaten run. Us Chester supporters have been crying out for a competitive team for a couple of years, but I think that we are beginning to establish an answer. Kidderminster scored a penalty which livened up the atmosphere a little, but again we dug in deep to prevent the dreaded equaliser. Matty Hughes put the gloss on the scoreline with another well-worked goal which has sent me beaming back home. I’m afraid there must be one negative though, which is of course the attendance. 1,500 is very poor for a Tuesday night in September, especially with us coming into this game in the middle of a good run. Why would anyone want to watch a meaningless game between Galatasary and Lokomotiv Moscow, where you can watch your local side live in a much more caring environment. Hopefully more will turn up on Saturday and maybe we can take a strong following to Chorley if we keep this up. All in all, an absolutely fantastic night to be a Chester FC supporter. We have just ended a good Kidderminster side’s unbeaten run, who train full time by the way and have extended our own unbeaten run to 5 games. Also, we are level on points with the play-off positions with 2 games in hand still to go. Success takes time to get going, so we must continue to give our players and staff our full support. As was shown tonight a good, vocal atmosphere will spurr them onto achieve what we all want. The sense of togetherness at the final whistle is what I want to be witnessing every single week. We now move onto another home game as we host City Of Liverpool in the FA Cup on Saturday. This will be a banana skin we must be aware about, but we must continue to give 100%. Things are definitely looking up for us now - and by the way, NONE of my videos have magically disappeared so stay tuned for an enjoyable vlog. UP THE SEALS! Rio, that was a wonderful summary! You should consider doing it professionally!

Last night was the best performance I can ever remember - that's how long we have been putting up with dross under the last few managers. These lads are an absolute breath of fresh air in the dugout and you can see their energy and desire transferring to the players who all put a superb shift in, constantly pressed Kidderminster all over the pitch (looks like we were the "harriers" last night) and showed the guile and quality to create chances. Kiddy had their moments but I thought the tactics we employed were spot on - four centre backs across the back line with Gary Roberts marshalling in front of them meant we weren't overly under pressure on the flanks as we had been during the first few games of the season. The back four had no need to get forward and had enough support from Mahon and Mooney who got up and down incredibly well considering they were essentially playing wide in a front three whilst Stopforth was his usual self - that lad pops up everywhere. I wasn't sure how the second half would go when we withdrew the target man and sent on Hughes who is a different type of forward but we weren't overly lumping the ball forwards anyway and Hughes made an absolute nuisance of himself and took his second goal brilliantly well. Final word for Iwan Murray - this teenage lad was thrown in minutes before kick off having originally been named on the bench but he grabbed his chance with both hands and thoroughly deserved his MOTM (is he legally allowed to accept the champagne?!) - he is going to make us some serious wedge if he can carry on like that, an unreal debut performance.
It's great to see we haven't lost a home game so far this season (two wins, two draws, scoring eight goals) - a far cry from the last two years. Five games unbeaten now, goal difference back to even, improving performances and climbing the table. We've beaten third-placed BPA (scoring five against them), we've inflicted second-placed Kidderminster with their first defeat of the season... what's stopping us going to runaway leaders Chorley in the next league game and doing a job on them?
