No better man for the job, a wealth of experience of football and will have a great mentor in his dad to guide him in running successful football clubs. 😫😫

Good god surely not do they own the ground or some other valuable assets if so they need to make sure they're under lock and key

How do the football authorities allow this to happen time after time.

I really really cannot believe they are screwing another club over.
The 'offering supporters group the club for a pound' just brings back so many memories of the same conversation I had with Vaughan Senior whilst stood at my desk in work, an hour long lunch break dominated by that call. What came with that pound? Oh yes, upwards of a £1m debt, half of which was owed to one certain family.
Still remember the call I also got threatening the existence of my knee caps. Such a pleasant time that was.
We're coming up to the 9th anniversary of the day our CCFC went under in the High Court and even though we are having a tough time in the National League North right now, we should never ever forget what this family did to our club, and the battle we faced together not just to get over that, but to bring us together and up the leagues again.

Well said G Banks onwards and upwards COYB Yes I’m sure he knows some lovely folk Mr Vaughan. I remember him waltzing around Cheltenham with several unscrupulous characters with him.

Can't believe they are being allowed to be associated with another football club. Vaughan Snr and Jnr have both served jail terms for serious offences. Vaughan Jnr should be banned from being involved. d

Chester Forever Jeff I remember the boycotts against Smith and Vaughan well. We could never have taken on the old club, with those debts hanging over our head. We would have drpopped like a stone anyway. Those 9 years, since we reformed seems like a lifetime.

Still remember the call I also got threatening the existence of my knee caps. Such a pleasant time that was. I think some people don't realise or understimate the extent to which threats and intimidation are part of how the Vaughans operate.
They definitely had some 'associates' trying to spin things on the old DC. Some very unpleasant things used to crop up on there. For all that Deva Chat gets stick and isn't perfect, SV hated it, and that's because he couldn't deal with the fact that he had no control over it.
When you start following a football club, you sign up for the misery and heartache, but there were things that happened under the Vaughans that simply weren't something that should be part and parcel of being a supporter.

Textbook Vaughan's... Take a club to the brink and then come in as the knight in shining armour. The hope is the fans are so desparate to see the club survive that they'll embrace the b@$t@rds!!

Yet again another awful piece of journalism. Where are these reporters with some balls to ask the questions that should have been asked after Barrow, ourselves and Widnes. We can blame the FA all we like, and they are culpable in allowing this to happen, but come on not one piece of that article referred to their previous history at destroying football clubs.

There's talk of Bangor setting up their own fan owned club. I imagine some fans will be reluctant to do this given Bangor City hasn't folded yet. It'd create a similar situation to Northwich Vics & 1874 Northwich if it happened.
It's the only way for them though, I'm sure the majority will see it that way.

Big chance that BCFC would get evicted from the ground and the new club handed the lease, due to (surprise surprise) Vaughans not paying any rent since they got there.

How long have they been there ~~~ 3 years or so. If they haven't paid any rent in that time the landlords are at fault. Should have been kicked out long ago.

Strange to think that next season, Colwyn Bay v Bangor (or AFC Bangor), could be a fixture in the Welsh third or fourth tier.
Yes, it's an unusual position where Bangor fans must almost be hoping the old club will fold so they can get on with their plans. The nightmare situation is Northwich, where the old Vics somehow managed to linger on and you now have two clubs inspired by Northwich Victoria kicking around at a lower level than they should be, as well as a third decent-sized Northwich club in Witton Albion. Think I'm right in saying Jim Rushe has now left the Vics, so perhaps in time them and 1874 can shake hands and merge back into one club, but there may be too much bad blood between the fans that went their different ways.
Next time the Vaughans try to get hold of a club - and they will keep trying - the fans should do everything they can to block it, and if they can't they should probably save themselves time and set up a breakaway club there and then. Their club-killing record is truly prolific. It seems they can get round any bans just by finding some other mug to put the club's name under, plus I think Vaughan Sr.'s ten-year ban on being a company director came into effect in 2009, so it may well be up by now.

I remember informing a few people at Oldham a few years ago when Fat CNUT V*****n Snr. tried to take over. He was using his son in law, Sammy Lee as a front if I recall. Thankfully, the fans listened as did the owner at the time and didn't sell. Horrible piece of work, I wonder if his parents were ever proud of him?

He’s older than Vaughan! Suppose it’s possible but he’d have to be married to someone half his age. Not the first time I’ve heard it mentioned though, and it would explain how Junior ended up as a youth player at Liverpool!
