Having seen newspaper reports very recently regarding vandalism in Upton, the Blacon Youth community bus, and now the little railway line in The Grosvenor Park, are we confident that this fantastic facility will be protected? Sorry to be a grumpy old git, but this does seem to happening more often all around the Chester area.

It really is a breath of fresh air to see our club creating something and giving something back to the local community, Give me the fans model anytime I have seen more achieved and done with little or no cash than I have ever seen by false promises from previous owners ššššš Well done and thankyou for all your hard work.

According to the hospice of the good shepherd charity FC twitter page they are playing against a team of Chester FC legends at the KGV a week on Sunday (19th) Listed to be playing are Matty Hughes, George Horan, Paul Linwood, Ian Howard, Kevin Ellison and Glenn Rule.
Suprised to see nothing on here about it although I might have missed it.

I have helped arrange this event alongside Darren Hawes who runs the Hospice of The Good Shepherd Charity football team. Should be a really good occasion and hopefully there will be a decent turnout to help raise money for a very worthy cause. Who knows, I may even dig my goalie gloves out and feature myself šš§¤!!!

Good stuff Rio, as you say let's hope for a good turn out for a very worthy cause in the City.
Who was the massive Ian Howard fan on here? Was it something like Dr Jekyll?

Anyone know what the spectator accommodation is going to be at the KGV? When Iāve been to similar venues in the past thereās been limited room for people to watch the games (usually a small area for standing on one side of the pitch), which may be an issue for events like the one next week if a decent number of people turn up.
Anyway, itās great to see whatās happened with this and full credit to all who have made it a realty.

It's a really impressive set up, and when the grass pitch and pavillion are finished it will be a huge asset for our community and our club.

It looks brilliant, well done to Jim and everyone involved. When will the logos be put on the building? Will we have the logo by the entrance too? Would be good to have a visible presence of the club on that main road.

There is a vinyl wrap with the club branding to be applied to the building and we've just ordered the signage for the site, including road facing. Initially there is a single spectator area alongside the touchline, but there is scope to develop the pitch in the future to add further spectator areas that could include covered accomodation and seating, but that's probably a few quid down the line. It's been a massive graft but all being well the first users will be on the pitch tomorrow evening. We're now in the process of kitting the building out and much like a new home, there's a lot to sort. If anyone is able to help with this, we are running a little campaign to enable people to purchase some of the items we need ( community.chesterfc.com/make-the-hub-our-home/).

If you pick this stuff from the Amazon list will it default the delivery address to the right place? I've not used it before.

Jim Green - "now we have access to the new hub and that goes hand in hand with the clubās move to daytime training. So, the club has a really impressive top quality state of the art facility for training. I think that is important for the management and players. āIt is also important when you are trying to attract players to the football club. It shows we are club going in the right direction, we are developing our facilities. "The first team will be using it during the day time. They will be paying for it, they will be hiring it like everybody else." āUnder the terms of the lease from the council, any surplus we generate from the facility either has to be reinvested into the maintenance and upkeep ā and hopefully in the future, the improvement and development of the site ā or in delivery of activities that will benefit the community. We have been really clear on that. This is not a football club scheme, it is a community trust scheme and we are a registered charity that has a mission to support and improve peopleās lives using football in sport.ā "Possibly at times the club has lost sight of times of what it means to be a community football club. We want to embrace the community and get younger supporters and families to come and watch their local team. All the work the club has been doing about season tickets and pricing and improving the match-day experience is part of that. But the other side of it is, we have to give something back. The way we do that is through the community trust. So, going into schools and delivering PE and school sport, providing sessions for people with disabilities to take part in sport, putting on events like we did in Blacon for the Jubilee where more than 1,000 people came and had a great day." āIt is a two-way relationship. If we expect the community to come and support the football club, it is only right that we play our part as well in helping the community.ā www.cheshire-live.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/chester-fc-king-george-hub-24227275

It really is a decent facility, changing rooms with individual showers as well as rooms for teaching/functions. Pitch is very good for passing football, very low bounce.

Does anyone know what the situation is with the first team pre season training in terms of the Grass or 4G pitches?
As it looks like the grass wonāt be ready just yet to play on?

New signage looks great. Brilliant to have the club badge and community trust signs on Blacon Avenue.
