Do we have a link yet to enable us to buy a ticket or give a donation specifically for the play-offs? Congratulations to the Board and the players for your tremendous commitment. I think the board plan to release the details in the next day or two.

Great news this and having watched Northampton win the L.2 playoffs after finishing 7th (congrats to Keith Curle) anything is possible. Big shout out to the players for their marvellous gesture and certainly don't envy the Managers having to sit down with some of these players after the playoffs and decide whether to release some although my gut feeling is that we will probably stick with the majority of the squad.

No-one has said that the players are playing for free. I think that this needs to be nipped in the bud till clarified.
They can not be on furlough payments while working, so if playing for free they will have zero income for a month. We can't endorse that. These guys aren't millionaires and some will have kids.
I guess that forgoing contractual commitments refers to bonuses for reaching playoffs or getting promotion. There may only be one or two players (managers?) with such clauses but they could cost the club big time.

Wow, absolutely brilliant by everybody involved. As the song goes how did we get there I don’t know, can we win it I’m not certain, all I know is we are on our way.....to the playoffs at least. Now where do I pay my match fee.?

Andrew Morris on Radio 5 live this morning - "the players have taken the absolutely wonderful gesture to donate the cost of their wages and bonuses back to the club, so they are playing effectively at zero cost"

Let's well and truly drop all this "Bill and Ben", "players don't fancy it" crap now. They're top lads and care about the club, and want to play football. It may not always happen for them on the pitch but that's because they're semi-pro. Let's respect what they've done here, no matter what happens in the playoffs.

As others have said, amazing gesture by all paid staff at the club - a massive thanks to them, whatever the outcome of the matches.
Speaking of, but what exactly are all the fixtures? I believe it's us vs Alty (A) and the winner of this plays Gateshead, also away? And then a final fixture after this?

Its a big ask for us to complete against teams who have had extra training time, and with us having lost our top scorer and likely to be using a keeper who have never played a league match for us. We may well get pumped, but I'll be proud of the lads and the club regardless. Any accusations of not caring and downing tools are just simply untrue.

As for our chances the togetherness of the squad counts loads. Think of Middlesborough. New manager, same players and new spirit. Think Greece...think Iceland...ability without spirit doesn't win latches.

Fantastic offer from the players and staff. It really is. Shows some of the Premier League players up for what they are.
It was a bit worrying to read we haven't actually got a goalkeeper for the playoffs. Theo Roberts is leaving. Let's hope Louis Gray can play. He was signed on loan at the time the season ended. Presumably we've something sorted.
We've raised £80k plus for next season. I bet if McCarthy and his players were still here, we'd have struggled to raise more than £10k. That tells you something. It's good to see it's reciprocated. Class.

If Gateshead win at Brackley, wouldn't they have to go to York and us to Boston if we get through? The semi finals are: 2nd vs 5th or 6th (York vs Alty or Chester) 3rd vs 4th or 7th (Boston vs Brackley or Gateshead)

If you’re going to blame anyone, blame the governing bodies for not giving a shit about lower league football.

Actually the longer this decision drags on the cheaper taking part in the play offs will be because the players are furloughed for longer. Presumably the players are still being paid now (even though they're furloughed) when they wouldn't normally be being paid (because they're usually on a 40 week contract). Maybe there is some deal to be done with the players to play in the play offs for expenses only if they've already had pay they wouldn't normally have had with maybe a bonus pot for winning trough? There may have been a grain of truth in the above. Players get paid in May and June through the furlough scheme when they would normally have earned nothing because contracts ended on 30th April. Players play for nothing in July. = Players one month wages better off overall and get massive kudos for forgoing wages. We get to play in play offs. Everybody happy!

The Bill and Ben stuff was truly pathetic. I wouldn't describe myself as the managers' greatest fan but no-one can ever question their commitment. As for the players, they're not above criticism for performances but absolutely right - they deserve our total respect. I just hope they do themselves justice, because we know what they are capable of (good and bad).

Not much else to add to what’s been said other than give my thanks to this incredible group of players and staff. Gestures like this will be remembered forever. You’ve found your place in Chester FC history no matter what happens on the pitch.
The absolute minimum we can all do now is support the #InItTogether fundraiser. We owe it to the players and coaching team.
Was already meaning to up my BTB pledge but may have to knock it up another tier after this. We’ve got some serious momentum going no matter what league we’re in next season now.

First reaction. ABOUT. TIME. Second reaction: Even if all the money is divided between the 18 teams it amounts to about 11k each.

That's still a third of our worst-case scenario i.e. making the final. Anything would be a bonus imo as I wasn't expecting any help.

Why would you want Sky to show the games? Thats assuming it can be achieved. I was just asking if we know of a way in which we can see the match, of course a pay-per-view to the club is the better option, but judging on what they said about donating a match ticket to help fund the Playoffs it doesn’t seem like they will be streaming it....
