I've never quite worked Bern & Jonno out. I love their passion, love their enthusiasm, love their work rate. I also think they inherited a shambles and have made us into a strong side. But I'd say we very rarely play that well. We're kind of 6 or 7 out of 10 most of the time, and usually that's good enough. And then now and again, we turn out some of the absolute worst performances I've ever seen from a Chester side. And it's not something they've managed to address in two years. I won't pretend I'm a tactical wizard but I just don't understand playing one up front in any game you want to win. It seems like something you should only do if you're hoping to come away with a point. Especially given our strength until today has been scoring goals. By far the best two teams in the country play with one up front mate.

Oh ffs, if it isn't the mancot show its the bloody rcb show... Think it depends whether we win or lose. Personally I'd take Mancot's carrot-dangling frivolity over rcb's wacky world of gloom that seems even more strange and depressing than the one we live in.

Let down as usual!, Don't know the answer, starting to think one manager probably better than two, no offence intended to either, But time for a change, One way or the other , we’ve lost out on money Which for a fan owned club is essential.
If everyone happy to continue as we are well fair enough, But how many more seasons can we continue to miss out?
We need the money wether we like it or not! I As many others have put money in that I / we can’t really afford , But I love this club, But the the tactics today has just Made me re evaluate! last10 mins we were all over them , Quite right too, So why not rest of the game, Got to be down to management! So no more funds from myself i’m Afraid!

...and so they should. You seem determined to support a lowly club in a pub league. Hope you’re happy, I doubt many others are. I’ve said for years now the club won’t ever move forward without investment Just sick of people not being able to take a defeat it’s beyond pathetic Agree with the first sentence but not the second. It’s not just a defeat it’s one of many embarrassing defeats under this pair. For some, the sun shines out of their arses because they are seen as ‘the lads’ but I think most of us can see that they are tactically totally inept, and in Johnson’s case, unprofessional as well.

South shields seat Halifax. Stafford got hammered by Skelmersdale. Weymouth got beat by Oxford city. It's the cup it happens

I know I keep rattling on about the financial hit that we’ve taken today but I truly hope we have something up our sleeves to get through the season. I worked out that I’ve spent £600 I can barely afford on the club since last season prematurely ended (various fundraisers, retro shirts, new shirts, season ticket...) much to the chagrin of my wife. I love this club but I hope we aren’t going to end up asking the same people to dig deep again in January.
Today was a real stinker for that.

This, I cant understand people continually saying "1 up front" massive difference between playing 1 striker and having one up front.

To put a little bit of perspective:-
- The managers know we need a striker but they are very expensive (otherwise we’d have kept/replaced Asante) & we have less than no money to spend - They got the tactics wrong today (& they’ll realise once they watch the match video back) - With one or two exceptions (Livesey for one), the players were very poor today and quite obviously thought they could win without trying - Most disappointing were the better, more experienced attacking players (Taylor, Johnson, Jackson to name 3) were very poor today. - Notwithstanding that we were unlucky not to get a draw today - They have clearly lost patience with Waring (otherwise he would have started today) and he can’t hit the proverbial barn door!! - Unfortunately Goodwin is out for 4-6 weeks with an ankle problem - The players will have got the hair dryer treatment tonight - At least they can get today out of their system on Tuesday night
The joys of being a Chester fan!!

What the F has a pandemic got to do with spending other peoples money on unnecessary contract extensions, given the knowledge that such decisions have nearly F’ed the club twice recently? You're talking about financial management and calling (indirectly) for them to be sacked now. The board are damned if they do and damned if they don't. If they got us promoted last season and then got poached by a bigger club, they'd get slaughtered. Do you honestly believe that they are good enough to manage a bigger club?

At this stage, probably not. They have a profile though and if (big if) we got promoted it's not unfeasible some chairman could take a punt on this. Also thought if they were still out of contract they might go for the job at the new Bury.

It seems as if they fly by the seat of their pants and go into games hoping for the best rather than with any tactical plan and with no idea what to do if things are going wrong.

We was poor first half and it was obvious that how we was set up wasnt working so a change needed to happen but it didnt. marine game here with a plan and played it well so credit due to them. Like to see more of matty hughes but they dont seem to want to play him at all. Be nice to have a clean sheet soon too, tough games coming up so big improvements needed all over

When you get out the bottom bunk and swap to the top with oaks blue, you might notice that mancot, nathan, frank likes every post because he niether swings to the far left or the far right and takes every post on board before replying, its not his fault he gets it wrong all the time☺

The point is we dont need a striker. Waring is a targetman and should be played to his strengths, which is holding the ball up and laying it off. Both Marsh Hughes and Goodwin should be given more game time when fit. Before we start signing forwarda on Try utilising to better effect what you have. If you have coached at any level, sometimes you need to find the right system that suits the players you have and not keep changing it for the sake of it. We have plenty of players utilise them more effectively.

But to come out with all the shite youve spouted on this thread, along with your boys club who all say the same thing is pretty damned predictable after a loss. But all it takes is a quick browse of your posts to know that you are one of the most negative people on this forum, you even attempted to shame people into donating more to the pounds per goal pledges... embarrassing
