Danny Elliott won't be staying at Hartlepool next year. Can't blame him for taking the opportunity, he got a medal after all. Would we have him back? I think he would do a job but as we have 5 strikers on the books already is there even space/budget for him should he want to? wouldn't have him back anyway a good lad but hardly set the world alight for us only 3 goals from open play too might do a job somewhere else not for us or me I'm afraid

Pleased to have Matty Williams on board here as it sounds like he delivered a lot of encouragement and promise while on trial. An additional option in our centre back department was just what we needed, so I am glad we have landed one in Matty because although I don’t view him as a starter, it is good we have a young and talented player in that role as it’s important we have a nice mix of youth and experience. He signed his first professional contract for Sky Bet League One outfit Accrington Stanley back in 2019, but despite a lack of appearances at the Wham Stadium a couple of loan spells out at Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division sides Lancaster City, and most recently Radcliffe, have boosted his development. Hopefully Matty will make a mark at the Deva, and I look forward to watching him develop here. Welcome to Chester FC Matty 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️!

Also happy with the addition of Zack Clarke who will provide us with some extra fresh blood and youth amongst our attacking options. Competition for places and strength in depth is just what we need, so it’s a positive that we’ve brought somebody in like Zack who will challenge our fellow forwards, while he was another player who impressed on trial so it’s obvious that Bern and Jonno see something in him. Having previously featured for Stockport County’s Under-18’s Clarke signed his first professional contract for us yesterday, so I look forward to watching what he can bring to the table as he’s clearly one for the future. In the grand scheme of things it seems like we are pretty close to completing our business in preparation for the new campaign, which is full credit to Bern and Jonno who have taken a relaxed and wise approach by getting everything sorted early. I would still like us to bring in another striker though as I still feel we are lacking some goals in our attacking options, so if their is room in our budget then that’d be ideal. I’m not saying we go overboard by bringing in a 20-goal-a-season striker, but somebody who can notch in between 10-15 goals would be just fine for us as we have some fantastic players even in midfield who are capable of chipping in with a few. A left back is essential as well and hopefully we can sort a deal out for Paddy Lacey too, so in my opinion our squad should be in a fantastic position to challenge if we retain Lacey, sign a new left back, and sign a proven striker too. Welcome to Chester FC Zack 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️!

Stockport fans say left back Jamie Stott is on trial for us they reckon they have seen pictures on Twitter to back it up.

Centre back Harrison Burke joined Clitheroe on a 28-day-long loan yesterday. I’ve always been impressed with Harrison whenever he has featured for us, but with him still being so young and raw this move will do him the world of good, as he needs to be playing every week to boost the beginning of his senior career. Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One West side Clitheroe are co-managed by former Seal Gary Stopforth, so I’m sure he will look after Burkey really well as he’s an exciting prospect for the future. Good luck Harrison!

Striker Zack Clarke joined Leek Town on an initial 28-day-long loan yesterday. Zack started his Chester FC life in fantastic fashion by netting a hat trick on his debut against Elton Vale, although his game time has been very limited since then. It’s a shame that’s happened because in my opinion he deserved more minutes under his belt in order for us to judge him better, while he has a really lovely, down-to-earth family too. Hopefully Zack will be rewarded with more game time at Leek though, who play in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One West, as that will be a decent level for him to test himself. Good luck Zack!

In the past lads have gone out and been out of sight out of mind. We will need one of Clark or Marsh-Hughes this year at some stage, as Dudley always has flat spots during a season to go with some tremendous highs, and Waring for me just isn't good enough.

Agreed. The club need to monitor their progress Some time ago MFG you became attached to the scouting system at CFC. Would the monitoring/progression of some or all of our young lads not fall into the hands of our small band of scouts to report back any positives etc. Keep up the good work.

Bit new to the way the way the club operates.

Brilliant that yet another academy lad has joined the long conveyor belt of players who have made the step up to our senior team. Sam played a key role in our under-19’s’ National League Alliance Cup success last campaign, so let’s hope that experience will put him in a good position to fight for a first team place in years to come. Lower Breck play in the North West Counties Football League Premier Division, so let’s hope he will receive plenty of game time this campaign as I look forward to watching Turner develop and progress with us. All the best Sam 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️!

Lower Breck sounds like a rural field the Brassic lads hang out in.
Great to see another Academy player given a first team deal - hopefully men’s football will bring the lad on further.

Not many fields in Liverpool 4 mate. They play on a 3g in Anfield. They were formed at a similar time to our reformation, and have come up from being a young side that won the West Cheshire league to competing at the top end of the NWC Premier. Drew 2-2 with Mossley in the cup on Saturday. Sam is a local lad who has been with the club since he was very young. Great to see that the club are seeing players from their younger age groups progress and be awarded with senior contracts. Like Sam, Will Goodwin and Sam Hughes both benefitted from our junior age groups. They are vital to our club and its ethos of community football. These are young local boys being given a pathway to a career from a young age.

Centre midfielder Paddy Lacey signed a new one-year contract extension for Chester FC today. This is a huge boost for us as Paddy will prove to be a really handy player for us given he’s great at breaking up the play and doing all the dirty work. He has made an excellent recovery from the ACL injury he picked up during our win at AFC Telford United last Boxing Day, so considering Lacey has been back in full training for the last couple of weeks hopefully he will be in contention to play tomorrow. I doubt George Glendon and Declan Weeks will be fit enough to play, therefore a Paddy Lacey-Luke Clark partnership will have to do and given we’ll be up against an Alfreton Town side who are usually tough to play against, then I believe that partnership will be perfect against that sort of opposition. Looking forward to watching Paddy play in person as he will be a key player in the Winter months, especially when we have to play on cabbage patches. All the best Paddy!

He’s been in full training for the last two weeks and has his first ever Boxing match in just two weeks, so he must be in great shape now. In the article on our official website it states that he could be in contention to play tomorrow, while Paddy was quoted as saying he was ‘’desperate to play in last weekend’s double-header’’, so fingers crossed he will feature tomorrow 🤞.

I get what you mean, but I’d much rather we put a proper centre midfielder in there like Paddy rather than Kevin Roberts for example.

Centre back Harrison Burke extended his loan spell at Clitheroe from Chester FC until the end of the year yesterday with a 24-hour recall clause. Harrison originally joined Clitheroe on a 28-day-long loan on August 8th, and judging by the reaction of some supporters on social media Harrison has been hugely impressive so far, with him bagging a goal in The Blues’ 0-4 away success at City Of Liverpool on Tuesday night. Hopefully Burkey will carry on his excellent start at the Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One West outfit, as it’s important he continues to play regular football. Good luck Harrison!

Striker Zack Clarke joined Clitheroe on loan from Chester FC yesterday. Zack previously had a loan spell at fellow Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One West side Leek Town for a month, and will unfortunately miss his opening game for Clitheroe having been sent off against Market Drayton Town last Monday. Like Harrison Burke though, hopefully he will feature regularly for Clitheroe because given how well he performed against the likes of Elton Vale and Macclesfield FC in pre-season, he does have a lot of potential. Good luck Zack!
