16 pages long now and the poster who started the thread hasn’t been on since. Why is it there’s an element that want negativity at any cost yet the regular posters are the ones who end up mainly contributing to a nonsense thread? Not posting again apparently. Gone to Facebook with the other "should play in green and gold and the Duke will put millions in" tin foil hat whackjobs.

Lit the blue touch paper and ran away. Shame on the rest of us for biting really. Don’t think that was his plan. Blokes just a total idiot. Messaged me once a while ago saying he was gonna do me in, said his name was one of my mates. 😂

In fairness, they've probably gone to go and find an appropriate owner.
First stop would obviously be The Duke - but let's not forget Daniel Craig and Michael Owen. They're all wealthy people with Chester connections so would inevitably invest.
Perhaps they could think outside the box - perhaps a Lucy Meacock and Ainsley Harriott consortium. The food in the kiosks would be immense!
Or failing that, perhaps set up a stall on Hollywood Boulevard. I'm sure we could catch someone like Jennifer Lawrence or Robert De Niro on their lunch break?
At least they're doing something about it rather than sitting behind a computer screen.

Its impressive this went on for 8 pages in a week. Essentially the point to take is this, there is currently a majority support for the model, i think thats safe. There is however a growing unease at its future. When i say growing this needs to be kept in the relevant context, it remains a minority. Nothing about this affects the board, the way they conduct their invaluable work. It is simply inescapable that if the club continues (over the next 2-3 years i think it will take) to be at this level consideration will have to be given to whether the club tenders for genuine investment in the form of a controlling share. At present this is not plausible, Murphy showed us clearly investment under this model is a fantasy. You can shout and scream and stamp your little feet all you like but thats just the way its currently going. This is not irreversible, i truly believe KGV will be significant but i remain concerned by a dwindling pool of funding for the club. If this is not turned around then the calls for a change will grow louder and potentially gather sufficient support to be put to a vote as it was at Telford. That vote may still lose, for all the reasons people support the model and their fears regards the alternative. Thats fine, but passing off these views as only being due to poor form is completely without any basis in reality. You are aware that your majority is within the CFU membership. What about fans who are not in the CFU? There is a lot of fans who just do not Join the CFU and never will or is the non CFU support not counted? Why not take your 100% head off and ask people in the ground if they are satisfied with the club in it's present form. You would get a nasty suprise the only people satisfied are the couple of dozen who moan on here and use DC as the political wing of the CFU In fairness Waggoner, they are counted, they are counted at the turnstyle. As my post says, if we continue at this level support for the model will be tested at CFU level and on the terraces.

I DON'T KNOW!!! Why don't the CFU put out some feelers for investors? Why is it so hard for you to understand??? Other Clubs have advertised for investment, it does not mean we have to take someone on as an owner AKA Murphy Vaughan but at least we as fans would be able to do due duligence on them if they come forwards. Easy CHESTER FC ARE LOOKING FOR INVESTORS IN OUR EXCITING VISION. MODERN FOOTBALL GROUND GOOD FANBASE LOOKING TO PUSH ON THE THE NEXT LEVEL. OF THE FOOTBALL PYRAMID WE INVITE APPLICANTS WHO WISH TO GET INVOLVED IN THIS EXCITING VENTURE TO PUT FORWARD THEIR IDEAS OR PROPOSALS FOR OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO CONSIDER ALL INTERESTED PARTIES CONTACT CHESTER FC CFU BLA BLA BLA PUT IT IN THE TIMES, NON LEAGUE PAPER ECT ECT HOW HARD IS IT??? If only someone who believed in this path would join CFU and encourage others who feel the same way to do the same (seemingly there loads of people who feel this way) and put this motion forward. If they did and it had support from the people who think this is the best course of action the club would vote on the issue. Sadly it is simply impossible for that to happen under our current model with £1 a month membership open to all and the ability to raise motions via email or attendance at a single meeting. Unless of course people who believed so passionately that this was the only solution to saving their beloved club, who they fear might be going out business simply couldn't bothered to do that and would instead prefer screaming into the void about how simple it is on a forum with no affiliation to the CFU or the Club. Whilst refusing to join the CFu for the simple reason that this isn't already happening. Ah well nevertheless. Let's hope somebody else undertakes this impossible task. Disagree, they'll just not bother attending. Which, in fairness, is what is occurring.

I think those who want to move away from the fan owned model just want someone else to make their dreams come true. The reality is that whatever the club achieve has to be paid for and anyone will want a return; except supporters, whose return is the enjoyment.
If our fan owned model fails then it is more of a testament to our society where the next generation are less locally minded and with distances being less are able to travel to Anfield, Old Trafford etc, and support the bigger teams.
Living in the East Midlands I don’t get to see the team very often, but very glad that the supporters took over the club and I still have a team to support. Also very grateful for those that put in their own time too.
Living in the East Midlands I am also very aware of the consequences of badly run privately owned clubs like Derby........

And then all start coming again when the team starts winning again. i dont think you'll find anyone who doesnt want you to be correct. I don't think you will find anyone who doesn't KNOW I'm correct. We've both been going years. Winning games and bigger crowds are intrinsically linked. Regardless of who owns the club.
