Its time to get out of fan owned and get a big money backer. We're Chester for gods sake.

When you've found one, let us know. Nail on head. When reading certain posts on social media tonight one could be excused for thinking we’ve turned down multiple approaches for the club. As it is, there was Stuart Murphy and I think that Matt Higgins guy (who seemed to be straight out of the Terry Smith mould in terms of wanting to manage the team) was reported to have made some sort of enquiry that was swiftly rebuffed. It doesn’t exactly suggest there’s a long list of reputable suitors out there. Anyone romanticising tonight about how much greater things were under private ownership might like to cast their mind back to another defeat at Kidderminster at Christmas 2009. The club was weeks away from going bust, we were stuck on minus points, we had a threadbare side and news broke that day that Vaughan had brought Morrell Maison in as director of football which represented another kick in the teeth. Going down the private ownership route doesn’t necessarily mean things will end up that bad again, but it’s the risk we would take and we would only have ourselves to blame if things ended up like that.

FFS don’t know why I clicked the thread just to get myself wound up. Going to not bother reading this forum after a defeat - all the idiots come crawling out of the woodwork. This place is full of it tonight.

This place is full of it tonight. Very predictable isn't it. Nobody has ever stopped a backer from putting an offer on the table - when we get a proper offer then by all means the conversation can be had, but as for now it's like me saying that I really need to be shagging Katy Perry whilst knowing full well the chances are low.

I genuinely don’t see where people think this clubs going If things carry on. The fact is this model doesn’t work we’ve proved that in the national league
Wrexham Hereford darling telford all proved it doesn’t work either…

Forgot about when the CFU nearly bankrupted the club have we Yet, as a supported owned club, we had the power to ensure that didn’t happen in the end. Unlike Vaughan, who wanted £5 million for a stadium he didn’t own and a squad made up of youth players.

One thing I'm pretty sure of is that if I was some local moneybags looking to spunk my fortune up the wall, I wouldn't be looking at some of whingy, entitled threads on here and thinking this was the place to do it.

It seems even a Hollywood takeover can only get you a home draw with Notts County, who are perennially shite.

The fact is that people only whine about the model when we are losing games. I genuinely don't know what planet people are living on when they say fan ownership has 'failed'. By what measure has it failed?
The irony being that these same people are supporting a private ownership model which has demonstrably failed across the footballing pyramid to such an extent that our own football club ceased to exist under such a model.
To top it off, when challenged on who is going to buy the club, why they'd buy it and how they are going to bring success on the pitch; sudden silence. All of this just a year or so after a total joker tried to get his hands on the club so he could turn the carpark into a surf centre. Just baffling.
