Most importantly hopefully we will get the job done tomorrow, and if we do manage to progress hopefully the draw will be a lot kinder for us this time. A lower team home or away would do, but it’s bound to happen at one stage isn’t it so my prediction will be Runcorn Linnets away. Written in the stars!

Away to Marske United according to Twitter. Back to the North East again if we win.

Two draws, two north east aways. It’s just so, so Chester. 😳
Beat South Shields 3-0 to reach this round too.

This looks a real banana skin if they can beat South Sheilds 3.0 they are going to be a tough nut to crack on their own ground.

Standard crap draw again. Cracker for Runcorn Linnets at home to Gateshead.

I’m actually happy with this draw to be honest, providing we win tomorrow night obviously. An away trip to a team who we have never faced before, while Marske play two leagues below us so it’s certainly a more favourable draw than if we were to play somebody like Southport or Chorley away. Sounds brilliant doesn’t it, but this is Chester FC after all so if we do get past Darlington we will have to put everything in to beat Marske, as it is a potential banana skin. They battered highly fancied South Shields 3-0 the other day while it would be another long trip up to the North East, so we must give it our all to avoid another Dunston UTS, Royston Town, East Thurrock United, or Marine debacle to name a few. For now though, it’s vital we progress against Darlington tomorrow before we can look forward to a trip to the Teesside seaside.

Think Marske would prefer a local derby with Darlo.

Marske have won their last 5 games scoring 17 and conceding 0. It's bloody miles away too. Hardly an ideal tie.
Still it's better than Fylde or Gateshead away.

Marske away offers a great opportunity to start a little cup run should we win tomorrow of course . I know we haven’t exactly been in fire 🔥 this season and it is us but we should be beating teams two leagues below us should we get past Darlo

In those 10 games they have kept a clean sheet in 9 of them. Banana skin written all over it

This tie must surely be on the shortlist of matches that could be chosen for the BBC’s live game on the red button, along with Runcorn Linnets v Gateshead and one or two other ties. But some of their choices in the qualifying rounds can be a bit unpredictable, so remains to be seen what they will go for.

Would’ve thought it would be nailed on had Darlo beaten us due to the local Derby aspect.
Suspect, as you say, Runcorn Linnets v Gateshead is the most likely broadcast tie.

You'd think at this stage they would go for a little-known side against a former League name, so I think Merstham v Hereford or our game. If they're looking for a "giant killing" they'd do well to look at our recent history in ties like this!

If they're looking for a "giant killing" they'd do well to look at our recent history in ties like this! Yes - if they do their research we should be nailed on. However, Hereford's name still seems synonymous with the FA Cup almost 50 years after Ronnie Radford's wonder goal. I doubt they will go for the Runcorn game.

Things to take from those highlights, the pitch is firm and bobbly, don't try and pass it around your back four. Their number 6, looks a big yard dog, isolate him with any pace he won't be able to live with an Oyibo or even an inform Johnston. Take your chances, South Shields had plenty looking at those 9 minutes. Most importantly, got to be up for it, win the battles and hopefully we will have enough quality if and it's a big if we turn up on the day. Last thing I want to see or read is we were second best all over the park, we have to learn from previous years embarrassments!
