You are joking aren't you!!!! Last season ended 3 weeks later than usual and next season is starting a week earlier than usual so that's a month shorter break. On top of that our 1st friendly at Whitchurch starts a fortnight Tuesday on 5th July. There are a couple of clues that confirm I was joking plus I said it feels like the longest post season not that it actually was👍🏻

Any news on Fitzpatrick yet A bit like McNulty I think we'd have heard already. Not sure on Fitzpatrick for another year myself.

That's interesting. What happened to him, he seemed to be a really decent prospect and then hardly played in his last season with us?

Wasn’t really ever in favour with the LADS was he? Clearly has something though as he moved up a division. Reckon we wouldn’t have got him had Alty not gone full-time last month - they’ve lost a fair few decent players with that move.

Nice to see Jamie back.
Be interesting to see what the plan for him is, personally I felt things started to go a bit awry for him when B&J had him on the left all the time after losing Taylor, getting rid of Waters and having an on/off relationship with Askew. I think that took a good amount out of his game and shackled him a bit.

Could do with one big marquee signing now to finish off a good close season.

Decent signing Jamie Morgan. It was a bit baffling why he wasn't played at right back, or right wing back a lot more.
For me, we still haven't resolved our deficiencies from previous seasons. Getting bullied away from home, and losing games we shouldn't.
We still need a defensive midfield player who can break up play, win headers and protect the centre halves. Or maybe two? Unless it's the lad from Runcorn? We need a commanding experienced centre half. We need a left back. We may still need an experienced target man.
Maybe the final five(?) signings will give us what we appear to need.

We certainly have pace in abundance when we break forward and as already said we still need a couple of defence minded players, at the moment I can see every game ending 6-5😂

Sure they’ll be a few more to come in, still early days yet, usually mid July you’ll be settling with a squad.

Should never have left he was decent then just got frozen out of their plans if you mean 'their' as in Morley and Johnson, it was Watson that let him go along with Cowan after offering Horsfield a contract. Morgan started the first five games of the season before picking up a nasty injury and subsequently being injured for a couple of months before going on loan to Nantwich to aid his recovery. By the time he came back they'd been sacked. From CFC OWS-
'Chester FC can confirm that full-back Jamie Morgan has joined Nantwich Town on a 28-day loan deal.
The 24-year-old has made five appearances this term but hasn’t played for the Blues since picking up an ankle injury against Darlington in the Emirates FA Cup in September.
Morgan joins the Dabbers on a temporary basis, returning to the club the Blues signed him from back in June 2019.
Joint Manager Anthony Johnson said: “Jamie is going to Nantwich to build up his fitness and match sharpness.
“He’s a massive player for us and will be like a new signing when he comes back – but going to Nantwich for 28 days is the perfect scenario for them, him and us.”
Best of luck, Morgs!'
Either way, its good to see him back and will be interesting to see, as Anders says what the plan is for him especially with Roberts penning a new deal too.

Proof that your squad is never really ever finalised - Watson’s use of the loan market last season was superb.

Just watched Kevin Ellison bruise the stanchion on the KGV from 25 yards with the outside of his left foot. Absolute beast.
George Horan in fantastic condition too.

Agreed, A Sargent type midfield enforcer and another centre half would be the priority for me. This league is as much about having the physicality to attack and defend set pieces, as it is about the ability to get around the pitch.

Wonder what the free agency list is looking like now for NL players around the North West?
Sure they’ll still be a few in our pipeline, but can’t find an up to date list anywhere
