I don't think he does. LMH has to prove himself right now whereas Clarke doesn't. Mind you, it's noticable that Clarke is now on loan at a club a league lower than he was at last season.
Clarke & Turner were the obvious two going out, they were out out of the side last week but weren't hanging around the other players injuried, they were standing behind the dugouts throughout. They were clearly fit and fine to play.
You may well be right, not sure what Clarke gains from playing at that level though myself. He did well with Atherton Colleries, last season played about 12 games, a level higher. So, I would have thought he would be ok at Northern Premier level, unless the aim is to get him scoring.

You may well be right, not sure what Clarke gains from playing at that level though myself. Clarke needs to play central, whereas LMH is a bit more versatile. We have Willoughby, Dudley and Hall who can all play central. Hopefully Clarke scores a few at Runcorn. He's gone to a club where we can keep an eye on him easier. I think that's a large part of the logic behind this loan.

Stevo and the loan left back missing from our list of the squad on this thread, but an addition in youth teamer Reece Daly (the ginger lad on the back row next to Jamie Morgan) who isn’t named in the above squad list on this thread. So it’s a 25-man squad, a healthy squad number, although three are out on loan (Smith, Turner and Clarke) so down to 22. Suppose it’s 21 considering the Glendon situation. Would expect Waters to replace the loan left back in the New Year. Looking good, positive!

Good to have a full back in as we’re very short in that department.
However, surely there are better quality backdrops for our new signing photographs, rather than a grey breeze-block wall and corrugated roof.

Been on loan at Cork City since February and looks as though he can play all across the back 4, although prefers right back.

Great to see money not being an issue this season and we’ve stumped up the wages for a few ex league and NL players 👏🏻👏🏻

Carlisle manager in 2020 after signing Devine -
“I’m delighted to have Danny through the door. He's another that very much ticks the boxes.
He's a defensive central midfield player with a great engine and work rate to his game, and he has this canny knack of being one of the first on the scene to deal with those crisis situations. With the way he plays, he's the type of player that his work rate and contribution to a football game can often get overlooked or unappreciated by the casual eye, because it's the simple things he's doing - winning the ball, giving it and then going again - or dropping back in when a teammate has pushed on.
Danny was another that was really keen to come to us, He’s had one club all his career, Bradford, and he came through their youth system. He's played a good amount of football for his age, including both League One and Two, and last season he kept players out of the team with far bigger reputations. I also looked at his stats before we brought him in, and his game starts per win ratio is excellent.
He adds a complimentary dynamic to our current group. He’s the right age with the right type of mobility and know-how. He brings other types of attributes that will allow our box-to-box players the freedom to drive and push forward to join and link attacking phases."

Sounds like two really good signings and exactly what was needed given the injuries across midfield and defence.

If some of our previous Stoke City players, such as the two Taylor’s (Joel and Connor) are anything to go by, then the signing of Kieran Coates should turn out to be a good addition. Due to both Jamie Morgan and now Kevin Roberts being out injured we currently have no match-fit right backs available, so I am pleased that Calum McIntyre has acted swiftly to bring in Kieran ahead of Saturday’s clash against Brackley Town. What’s all the more important about this signing is that he can operate anywhere across the back four, so once everybody is back fit again we should have plenty of strength in depth and competition for places. For the time being though I expect Kieran to fill the void at right back, which will save Calum from forcing the likes of Ollie Heywood to be playing out of position again, so I look forward to seeing what Kieran can offer for us. Going by Calum’s description of him he sounds a bit like Joel Taylor, so if Kieran is half as good as him then we have landed a gem.
Welcome to Chester FC Kieran 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️!

Very happy with the addition of Danny Devine. I didn’t really buy into the shouts that we should’ve signed a ‘’replacement’’ when George Glendon was ruled out, however the unprecedented injury to Lewis Earl was a hammer blow to our midfield, so the capture of Danny provides us with a huge boost. This is not your typical, panicky ‘’short term fix’’ kind of signing either, as he has experience in the EFL having made almost 60 appearances for Bradford City and Carlisle United. Danny has also penned a contract which lasts for the rest of the season, so I am excited to watch him in action as he’s a really good signing for this level. In Alex Kenyon, Declan Weeks, Joe Lynch, and now Danny Devine we still have a very strong midfield, while once Earl and Glendon come back we should have good competition for places again.
Welcome to Chester FC Danny 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️!
