Need to bear in mind that Wrexham were held in the ground for half an hour after the final whistle. Granted it was because they were being naughty earlier in the day, but same could apply to us if no one behaves themselves. I was under impression they was not allowed, legally, to do this? I'm not sure of the legalities but they did it anyway (according to a Wrexham supporting colleague). They kept them in and just let them make their own way home by whatever means they wanted. So, there was no frog marching them to the nearest tram stop afterward.

How come there’s so many without tickets? Surely you’d just get a ticket if you were certain to be going? Strange this get the tickets bought and smash this 1700 21 of us getting the 10.02 train. Might be a few more before sat. Going to S Ferry pub Friday so might get a few more to come with us.

When I went to Ibrox with Dortmund we got kept behind for 45 minutes after full-time, which I believe is the maximum length of time legally allowed. I’ve heard similar stories from Premier League-supporting mates as well, although such measures are very much a rarity at this level and I don’t think we need to worry unless our fans behave exceptionally poorly.

Probably best being kept in the ground, than being kettled in a small terraced road, as happened at Stockport a few years back. At least we'd know what was going on. Hopefully we'll all be in a good mood at the final whistle, and can celebrate with the players for a while!

Ticket sales are unreal, well done everyone !
Just putting this out there to any casual fans, or actually everyone…
We’re going to get more away for an FA qualifier than our average home gate.
What’s stopping these people coming down every other Saturday? Or at least a few games a year?
Is it the league we play in - not knowing who Farsley or Alfreton are compared to say a Notts County or Stockport?
Is it the location of the ground not playing into a Saturday ale session around town? By this I mean a city centre stadium would grab a few more in?
Interested to know peoples thoughts.

Heard of someone who hasn’t been since Peterborough relegation game in 2000 who is going on Saturday. Fucking weird that, 22 years. Also a fair few whose last game was Barnsley away (not Barnsley at home replay) and are going on Saturday. Sort of like one last hurrah isn’t it, a big away day etc but it doesn’t make any sense to me. Will never understand people like that.

Also heard of some prick who booked a holiday in Greece, assuming our wretched cup form of recent years meant it was perfectly safe to clash with 4th Qualifying round. Major fail as my teenage niece would say. Still, I'm back for the 1st round.

The Barnsley ones I can understand, FA cup away day with your mates who are probably Chester fans whilst you're not.

I don’t get it one bit - glad to see them coming to support the club but we need this kind of enthusiasm for even just the ‘bigger’ games in our league - Hereford, Kiddy…. Hopefully the once a decade fans will behave themselves!

An uncle of mine hasn’t been to a match in years, but his neighbour, who is a big Chester supporter, is going, so they will be with me on the Hipkiss on Saturday. While the likes of myself and other hardcore supporters give our heart and soul for our club, and are committed to going to awful grounds such as Farsley Celtic and Peterborough Sports wind, rain, or shine, it is not really unusual for fair weather fans to turn up for the odd big match. It happens at the majority of clubs up and down the country, so I suppose it’s just one of those things. I suppose though that Saturday’s game is a reward for the diehards who have to put up with going to dives such as Leamington and Kettering Town on a regular basis. We certainly deserve a day out like this one 😅!

Yeah but we’ve had tons of bigger games since Peterborough in 2000.
Didn’t go to Blackburn, didn’t go to Scarborough, didn’t go to Forest, Ipswich, Wolves etc. Not even Colwyn Bay or Trafford just to see what the Newco was about. That one is proper bizarre.

It's only 1700ish which is slightly below our home average. Maybe the majority (of home supporters) have decided to take in a localish away fixture. There may well be a few jumping on the FA Cup bandwagon but it may not be as many floating fans as we think.

It's going to be a fantastic away following.

If we’ve got 1800 going Oldham for an FA cup qualifier why the hell can’t we get 2,000 every home game and more? And agree on local point, but then your causal fans wouldn’t know Curzon, who look like they play at a leisure centre. I just want to see the Deva packed every week is that too much to ask 😂😂

Special offer for purchasing tickets for both home games, emails could be sent. Social Media advertising everyday for promotion....

Make it £15 for 2? Be great to see 2,500 in for both, especially with the opposition bringing about 10.

I am baffled by this group of pay on the day crew. Are they just going for a piss up and a scrap so aren’t bothered about a ticket?

Are they just going for a piss up and a scrap so aren’t bothered about a ticket? If pay on the gate is an option on the day, it's obvious that some people will do this. I reckon 200-250 pay on the gate and we won't be far off 2000 overall.
