Regardless of the situation he was an absolute shitshow.

Norwood signed for Oldham……
That puts Kurt 3rd, 4th or even 5th choice behind him, Nuttall, Fondop, even Tollitt.
BRING HIM HOME.

I don't blame Kurt for leaving, it was an opportunity on his doorstep to go and play full time at a big club. But I think most of us called it, in that Unsworth seems like a kid in a sweet shop and they operate with a huge squad. Competition is a good thing to a certain extent, but it's also hard for lads to make an impression with the odd start or 10 mins off the bench. Kurt is one of those players that needs to play every week to be firing. Looks to be 4th or 5th choice unless he's shunted out on the wing which isn't an ideal position for him. Most likely he'll be out for loan come Christmas time. Shame, as he deserved his chance a level higher, but Oldham may have been the right move financially but I don't think it will be for the sake of his career.

Former Chester team-mates Andy Crosby and David Flitcroft are running the show at Port Vale these days as manager and director of football respectively. They were thrashed 7-0 at Barnsley today.

"Akwasi and Rowe are still sort of getting up to speed and it is one of them where will they still be a part of our squad going forward? Probably not, but they are still in the building.” 'Asante, 30, joined Chesterfield for a fee in November 2020 from Gloucester City and has gone on to score 21 goals in 65 games but he has struggled with niggling injuries since rupturing his ACL in April 2021, making just 18 appearances last season.' www.derbyshiretimes.co.uk/sport/football/two-chesterfield-strikers-appear-to-be-heading-for-exit-door-4257491

Had a decent record before coming here I suppose but I felt for Neil Young with him. The clamour from some of our fans and pressure put on him to go and sign him whatever the cost was really embarrassing I thought. He'd been injured and out of favour for a while at York.

I did see him score once, on a Tuesday night at Alfreton, an absolute sitter mind, only goal of the night. I think he only ever scored two goals for us.

His other one was the winner in a 2-1 win against Barnet. Steve Burr's first game and if I remember rightly it got Edgar Davids sacked.

He apparently didn’t bother attending a few other northern away games that season - a really strange arrangement that smacked of the manager being treated as bigger than the club, along with giving himself the number one squad number.

Used to sit in his Lamborghini whilst the players trained in the rain.

Wouldn't have recognised him on that pic. The other bloke actually looks more like Hicks as I remember him, albeit a younger version.

Hicks was exactly the sort of no nonsense defender you need. Put his body on the line every time.
