A nice reminder that not everyone hates us! They seem a really friendly club.

Could it be possible to set up an affiliation with them. They’re not too far away and play at a decent level that we could send players to develop. Play a pre-season friendly at their place each year.

I wonder if we’ll look to do another trial day, it worked out pretty well last time with finding Matty Williams

How about pre season friendly with Everton and Harry in goal for them.

Looking forward to that, grew up near there before moving to Chester. A shame it's a Tuesday night. Would've been a good one to make a day of. I'm coming up to Cheshire for Blue Dot festival the weekend before, so might just extend my break and have a day or two in the mountains whilst taking the match in on the Tuesday night.

Chester XI against St Helens Town on Friday 7th July 7.45 free entry. I think they're a tier 12 side now having finished bottom of the Liverpool County Premier League last season. I see from their Twitter that they've just played a friendly in Germany.

Did I read it right it seems the Stockport game is £2 more than the Bolton friendly, seems a bit random.

Did I read it right it seems the Stockport game is £2 more than the Bolton friendly, seems a bit random. It says on the club website that the higher price is to help offset the police costs for that game. Unfortunately we are all paying the price for the behaviour of those who caused the trouble. I hope all the supporters around them appreciate that too.

Ticket sales not being allowed on the day for those two home friendlies will almost certainly impact on attendances. I’d say that these are the sort of games where fans may make a late decision to attend rather than planning ahead as they would for games in the regular season.
But ultimately that’s the situation we now find ourselves in thanks to the moronic element.

Friendlies aren’t really my bag don’t really bother with them but if I decide to go I’ll just buy a ticket online. Not really that much of an inconvenience is it.

Is it likely to be just the two home friendlies?
I remember last summer, we hosted Atherton Collieries at the Deva, with Calum saying he thought it was useful to have a home friendly against a side you're expected to beat that will try and spoil the game. Made sense I thought, especially since that kind of was a problem for us at home throughout last season.

Hopefully we don't end up losing money on the Stockport game. Whilst it's nice to have tests against teams from higher up, I'm not convinced we'll get a good enough crowd to justify the policing cost. Maybe Stockport will bring a few, just for a day out. I can't be arsed with friendlies, just can't get up for a game where there's no points at stake - I'm never bothered if we win and never downhearted if we lose them. I guess it's nice to see how the newer players look, but there's not too many surprises this summer in terms of players so far.
