Can only judge how it's going to go after around 10 games in That's the standard line yes, though on paper we have a tough couple of months fixture wise.

To be fair the only significant loss to us has been the King. If we can get a few of the forward players chipping in with 8-10 goals each then we should be fine as defensively we will still be very strong.

Good today. Competitive first half with us shading it and then we took over in the second half and but for their trialist keeper it would have been five-ish.
Set up 4-4-2 to start with a diamond midfield with Burke holding and Heywood and Edwards partnered at the back. Things shifted around a few times in the second half with the subs though with Burke and Earl each having a spell back there. Burke will almost certainly start in the same role next week as we haven't seen Roberts yet and Earl looks off the pace.
I’m guessing that Swales will get offered a deal, Calum has hinted that there’s one more to come in anyway. First time I’ve seen him and he looks quite good. Looks like he’d rather pick a pass out than be on the receiving end though to my eyes.

Cal said on Thursday that we’re hoping to bring another forward in on loan, possibly after the start of the season. Wouldn’t surprise me if we sign Swales and/or Malone as well, though - both were actively involved in the open training session yesterday.

Murray was superb today got himself about and should of scored
Have to agree with everything Anders said to
Ref was garbage gave them more or less everything but gave us a pen which was overruled by the lino as the player had handballed it when it went behind the line for a goal
If Swales was the trialist i hope we give him a contract as he was decent player

I haven't been to any friendlies, but Swales has got a lot of rave reviews so far. He sounds a bit like a Glendon type player to me, but please correct me if I'm wrong. If he is and depending on the budget, would Calum maybe consider giving him a 6 month contract to get him through to the new year when Glendon is expected back, then extend the contract if needed.

Was up front just behind Caton, but his impressive moments came from deeper, I think he’d look more ideally suited in the position Murray had on the day, at the top of the diamond. He’s not a big lad by any stretch but bigger than Murray, the difference between the two is that Murray is a better dribbler with good close control with his low centre of gravity (buys fouls) whilst Swales probably has better vision to pick out a pass.
Quite industrious, reminded me of Matty Hughes in that respect.

Gave us some great comedy value seeing Chris Iwelumo try to squeeze into Worsnop's goalkeeper top though!

Is this the lad we have on trial? Yeah. Watched some of his YouTube stuff and tbf he seems to have a good attitude, he comes across as the type of player you would want in a community model. That aside it will be down to Cal and how he feels about the lad, if he feels he can offer the team anything we don't already have then great 👍 I've not seen the lad play and I am fully aware when these video's are put together they are to make the player look good so I'm on the fence and will trust Cal. I've go to say though if they are a true reflection on his ability as a player and paired with Charlie Caton and Declan weeks I would worry 😂😂😂

Funny how those individuals on social media who seemed to consider pre-season results to be important after the Bala game never said a word when we won yesterday.

Refs should only be sending players off in a friendly if it's violent or dangerous play. It's not in our interest to play against 10 men either.

A team last season had a man sent off and Cal said in an interview he had to wait til half time to completely change the game plan. Which means to me we had 20 minutes with a supposed man advantage, that we couldn't actually use til the 2nd half.

As someone says he buys fouls and opponents hate him. Not suited to every game but gives us a different option. He does need to add goals to his game if he wants to kick on.
