Rest assured he will have had offers from clubs above. They will also probably be over 50% more than we were paying him over 44 weeks, and probably on a 2 year, 52 week contract. KW said himself it was time for him to move on from the NLN, some of our supporters need to move on from Kurt. He was great last season, but we move on with Kole Hall, Charlie Caton, Zak Goodson and Zack Clarke. No surprise to see Kurt sign for Oldham, it’s probably been in the pipeline since January when we declined their offer. Although Kurt was only 25, he played with maturity for his age and after losing Dudley too I do feel that we’re lacking some experience and goal scoring instinct in the forward department which most teams tend to have in our league. It’s still early days yet though.

Sometimes if kurt was marked out of the game, it substantially reduced our attacking threat. There is a danger of being over reliant on one player. Caton, Hall and Goodson may add the flexibility and movement that could compensate for his loss.

27 goals in 52 games …..doesn’t matter how you spin it he’s going to be massively missed and hard to replace. forwards with his talent are hard to get hold of , he was an integral part of our attempts to gain promotion..for us to strive to get out of the league we can’t afford to lose players of his quality. Unfortunately we have to accept that currently we are a stepping stone club. That is the only reason a player like Willoughby would sign for us in the first place, the understanding that we do things right and develop players for that next step. That is why the majority of our signings fit a type, young hungry pros. U24s would attract a fee.

No problem with players wanting to leave and move up a division, it's the nature of the beast, we could be in league 1 and players would still leave to join teams higher up. The key is to try and get a fee for any player that leaves. Cal Mac has been great at finding gems, it wouldn't surprise me if Goodson is just as prolific.

Let's face it, if he scores 15 goals for Oldham he will be gone again. Of the two prolific scorers we've had recently, I think Asante is a better striker, but obviously his injuries hold him back. I have a feeling Willoughby might struggle against better defenders but hope I'm proved wrong. Brilliant for us and deserves another crack at full time football. As for being a stepping stone, every club up to the top four of the Premier League is a stepping stone. No point worrying about it. I'm thinking we may go into the loan market for a forward.

Bang on, difference being at L1 and above you are more likely to sign a player to a 2 or 3 year contract. At our level the 1 year deals gives the player the chance to progress if they do well, while protecting the club from having an unhappy, underperforming player tossing off a 2nd year while collecting his wages. Scunthorpe been throwing 2 year deals around this close season, they become a real albatross round the neck if/when that player finds they cant settle, or just struggles for form. At our level the income isn't there for the luxury of having a player sitting in the stands.

Tbf players only toss it off in clubs with toxic atmospheres and if they want a move for whatever reason. They don't toss it off on the pitch as word spreads around changing rooms and if you toss it off on the pitch their team mates will grip them in the dressing room and sort them out. In a 15 year career you won't get a job unless you're exceptionally good being known as a player who gives up

Sad to see him go but we move on. We've lost goal scorers before and found new ones. As good a finisher as Kurt was, he was lacking in some other aspects of his game so maybe we'll see a bit more a dynamic frontline this year, although no doubt we will miss his predatory instinct and it's a lot of goals to replace. I anticipate more players chipping in with goals rather than the new guy coming in and banging 27 himself. Weeks, Glendon and Whitehouse are more than capable of getting double figures from midfield, and would expect similar from our 3 strikers too.

Lovely of Kurt to thank everyone at the club on his twitter. It's little things like that which mean a lot. We move on now though trying to find our new goal scoring king.

I've been resigned that he wasn't going to be here next season from the moment we lost the playoffs, so it's a relief to me that it's done actually and we can move on.
Hope he does well there. It's kind of nice to see a player leaving us for a club that's bigger than us rather than just richer.

Brackley sign wing-back/midfielder from Stourbridge.
'Farsley Celtic are delighted to announce the signing of highly rated goalkeeper Harry Allen! Harry came through the ranks at Manchester United before joining Burnley where he played at U19’s and U21 level. He played last season at Welsh outfit Flint Town. We are pleased to announce the signing of dynamic midfielder Jordan Carroll! Jordan originally hails from Ireland and has Radcliffe and more recently Flint Town on his playing CV.'
Scunthorpe sign Bradford City midfielder Kian Scales. Scales spent most of last season on loan at Farsley. Their 10th signing is defender Ross Barrows from Altrincham. Barrows played for Scunthorpe's U9's 16 years ago.
South Shields sign former Spennymoor right back John Lufudu.
Spennymoor sign defender Reece Staunton and midfielder Sam Fielding from BPA.

Jack Hazelhurst City of Liverpool to Chorley. Best player in the Northern Premier Leagues. Needs to be more professional and control his temper. I would expect him to do really well. Bags of ability.

King Kole King Charlie King Zak I always thought it odd that we had a striker called Kole, and yet it was a different striker who got the title of king. OK, Kurt was the prolific goal scorer, but given the rhyme old king Cole, I think King Kole does have a good ring to it.

Banbury's first signing is defender Jack Davies, following his release from MKD. Davies spent last season on loan at his former club Oxford City, as well as Concord Rangers.
Bishops Stortford sign central defender Marvel Ekpiteta, who returns to his old club from Billericay Town.
Boston sign midfielder Keaton Ward after reaching 'undisclosed agreement' with Kettering.
Brackley sign defender Jay Williams from Banbury, manager Gavin Cowan -“Jay is a real coup for us having had a brilliant season. We’ve managed to get ahead of a few others for his signature as he has really bought into what we want to do here".
Hereford sign forward Jason Cowley for an undisclosed fee from Stourbridge. The 29yr old scored 29 goals for Stourbridge last season.
Rushall Olympic sign former EFL winger Jake Gosling, who spent last season at Bristol Manor Farm FC.
South Shields sign forward Luke James who was released by York City.
Spennymoor complete what they describe as, 'a huge transfer coup', as goalkeeper James Montgomery joins from Gateshead. Montgomery had been in contract renewal talks prior to signing for Moors.
Tamworth re-sign Jordan Cullinane-Liburd from Brackley. The defender left Tamworth to join Brackley in 2020. Also joining the Lambs are centre half Brad Gascoigne whose last club was Kettering, former EFL midfielder Callum Reilly who played for Banbury last season and winger Lindon Meikle, who last season, was on loan at the club from Buxton.

The merry-go-round continues as Adam Rooney leaves Brackley to become player/assistant manager at Hereford and Spennymoor forward Paul Blackett signs for South Shields for an undisclosed fee, with Moors’ Head of Football Jason Ainsley, explaining that, "Unfortunately, with South Shields meeting his buy-out clause and Paul wanting to get back into full-time football, the management team felt that we could not stand in his way".

Buxton sign midfielder Curtis Weston following his release from Fylde. Brackley sign midfielder Liam Cross after being released by Northampton, he spent most of last season on loan at Leamington. One player unlikely to feature much, if at all next season, is Banbury forward Ben Acquaye who has admitted a FA charge of placing bets on football matches - 645 bets to be precise, between September 22 2018 and April 19, 2022.

Love this time of the year. A club makes a half decent signing and then fans say they are going to piss the league only to end up struggling against relegation. Hereford are going to be that team this season.

Scunthorpe have beaten National League title favourites Chesterfield to the signing of winger Callum Roberts. Probably the best signing in tier 6 history. The money over there will be eye-watering.
Difficult to see how they don’t get 100+ points.

Difficult to see how they don’t get 100+ points. For an undisclosed fee, Aberdeen supposedly paid over £100,000 for him last July. Got injured early on and was out for most of the season, returned to training but then suffered a setback in March which kept him out again. Peterborough Sports sign forward Ben Fowkes from Leiston FC. Spennymoor sign full-back Keenan Ferguson following his release from Boston and forward Will Harris who was released by Gateshead. Couple of outgoings, Gold Omotayo, who scored 25 goals last season has informed King's Lynn he's off - to a NL club apparently. Josh Hancock leaves Curzon and becomes Radcliffe's 7th signing so far this summer.

If they don't, it could be a really bad place to be. Bit like afc Fylde on steroids.
