Okeke very impressive. Disappointed with Kole Hall. I really wish he could step up to the plate so to speak. Newbies enjoyed it. Just a case of convincing them to go more often now.
Wasn’t a great game but really needed that result and made up Norton scored. He had a good headed chance not long before that also.
Onwards and upwards.
Commmmmme onnnnnnn yooooooou bluuuuuuues!

We never spank anyone but we will get back to winning ways. A steady 2-0 win in front of 1,941 Much better than my normal predictions
Made up for Norton at the end, hopefully that will do him the world of good. The new lad had a great debut, very impressive.

Agree with everything that has been said so far. Only thing to add is that Taylor also threw in his best effort of the season in my opinion, credit where it's due.

Not much to be said about that really. Terrible game, against really poor opposition. Usual lack of ideas up front, 3 points.
Excellent debut from Okeke though and a well deserved MOM award.

That team hasn't got a winning look about it, unless Okeke is an upgrade. You should delete this Hopefully leaves it so everyone can see it

Much better than Tuesday. Glendon improved but the midfield still doesn’t work. Really pleased for Norton. Impressed the crowd held up as well as it did. Okeke looks a class player.

Interestingly, we've now started 2024 better than we started 2023. That run of draws this time last year was poor really, but people weren't that bothered because we weren't losing. It's better to win two and lose three than to draw five.

Jid Okeke was just what we needed, always looking for the immediate pass forward (normally accurate) and not scared to run towards defenders to get into the box. People can laugh at me if they want, there's a good bit of Steve McManaman about his style to my eye.

Okeke looked great today and has a v hard act to follow - long may it continue.
It shouldn’t be that hard to beat a team that weak but at least we got there in the end.
Still think we are missing a trick playing Glendon where we need Weeks’ creativity. Having Weeks in such a deep role stifles his creativity and he’s the only one in midfield that can make things happen for us when we are trying (and mostly failing) to break a team down. When he pushed forward in the last 20 minutes we created more chances. That said, I expect it’s hard for Cal to move Glendon as he scoring regularly (he’s actually missing quite a few easy ones as well). But I still think we’d win and score more if we made that change.
Desperately need Peers and Caton as a regular 2 up front. Hall just isn’t doing it. Very pleased for Norton to get his goal. Hope that turbocharges his confidence (not sure why Cal is preferring him over Windsor though).

Think we have beaten two teams recently who on those performances will be relegated come the end of season. Okeke was very good, direct and willing to get forward and deservedly was MOM. Possession wise dominated the game but could have been punished in either half by defensive errors by a better side. I'll stick up for Kole Hall today, thought he had decent game, won plenty of headers and held it up pretty well at times, yes his finishing isn't the best but he was a threat today. Everybody else was a solid 6 or 7 today, could have made it easier for ourselves but 3 points and move on to what will be a physical battle at Chorley Tuesday night, weather permitting.

Can’t argue with that. Stortford were gifted two golden opportunities as well by mix ups which we were lucky to get away with. Good to see Caton back and the new lad is a more than capable deputy for Coates. Williams back to form after a rare blip on Tuesday. One negative is the form of Weeks. Needs to be dropped for a few games until he rediscovers his form from last season. Dispossessed so easily in recent weeks.

Not sure everyone would be as happy with the performance if they'd equalised when they hit the post, instead of the ball bouncing out.
First half was fairly dull until the last 10 minutes when we started creating chances. Luckily we kept up that momentum in the second half. We dominated the game without really finishing them off. Overall it was a decent all round performance.
Okeke did everything you'd want from a loan debutant and was a well deserved motm. We'll find out whether he's as good defensively, as he is going forward, at Chorley on Tuesday.
The divided opinion on Glendon is mainly due to him playing that position instead of us having a 2nd striker on the pitch. In my opinion we'd be a far better threat with two strikers. We'd be a better watch too.

A deserved 3 points today, with a great debut from Okeke. Bishops Stortford were very poor. We made it look hard work against a shite team. The only reason we got the 2nd was due to their keeper going up for the corner.
We're just too slow and predictable in our build up.
Hopefully, we can kick on from here and get some decent results.

Personally I think we was lacking a goal threat up front against the worst team in the league and against anyone else we'd we wouldn't of won today. Defence did OK but rarely threatened and best performers was the new lad or glendon who was busy. Weeks is really struggling to perform this season and doesn't make a impact at all.
