Quick word on Stanway & the defenders, another clean sheet. Remarkable defensive record. Such good players for young ones, and a senior one. Kevin Roberts with another new lease of life at CB. Such a great influence on those young lads around him. Woodthorpe was class, a real wand of a left foot. As above that cross was like rolling the clock back 35 years, would have been a beauty if Reece Daly had beat the keeper.

Quick word on Stanway & the defenders, another clean sheet. Remarkable defensive record. According to his Twitter feed that is Stanway’s 17th clean sheet. Get his contract extended.

The post-match interview needs a bit of an essay to dissect - will do later. Please don’t, Frank 😂 I could be quick and blunt and say the manager did a pretty shitty thing really by disregarding/disrespecting the support of about 1,800-1,900 other fans with a certain comment, but I do want to provide a measured approach to my opinion at some point.

Absolutely ludicrous take that is. He has dedicated the win to the 300 or so people who went there through Storm whatever, fought the M6 and cheered their side on in an absolute shithole of a place. You feel offended because you go to home games, and lets be honest that is only when you can be arsed. Should Cal have dedicated the win to those who sat at home and watched on Firestick? You are one really entitled man, who seems to have an axe to grind with what is our most popular manager of recent years. I know you love to take the polar opposite view of what the majority of people support, but do us all a favour and get off Cals back. Its getting boring. Those who went there last night were the real hardcore, like it or not. We all contribute in our own way, but we also all know people who go everywhere through good, bad form, rain, sleet and wind. Last night was their reward for that money, time and effort. Who the fuck are you to deny them?

I actually thought that was one of the best bits of his interview, where he heaped praise on the fans who went. I went to those sort of games for years but life/priorities change and I mainly just do home games now, but I remember the sacrifice it took financially and taking time off work and away from family etc, so it's only right that the absolute hardcore of our support base are singled out for some special praise from time to time.

I can’t even take this remark seriously, the 303 travelling fans deserve huge credit, part of the M6 closed and horrible weather. If you’re getting annoyed at Cal praising our own fanbase, you really need to give your head a wobble. support the whole club or fuck off

Bore off Got a season ticket buddy - attend 90% of home games just not every midweek one as my wife works until 9pm and I have four young children. My kids have STs too. We’re in the West Stand every Saturday home game if you want to come and say hi. Also been a couple of aways this season 👍🏻

Maybe the manager chose his words carefully, maybe he didn’t, but some of us (not just me) took a bit of umbrage to not being considered “real fans”. Sorry my wife works until 9pm on Tuesdays and I have four young kids - can’t be a “real” fan. Some of my group of mates work night shifts, can’t be “real” fans then can they. Fair play to everyone who went last night - yeah. But comments like that just create an even bigger ‘us and them’ within the fanbase. It was the phrase “real fans” that wound me up, it only serves to cause even more of a divide than we see on here at the best of times. It may not, but it’s a comment that potentially alienates majority of the fanbase who are skint, working, have kids to look after etc. Oh, and I’ll have you know I am massively pro-Cal. Best man for us, ten year contract etc etc etc. I say it often enough. Think you’re confusing me with someone else when you’re talking of an axe to grind.

Maybe if you gave it an ounce of thought, it would’ve processed through that absolute bonce of yours that “huh maybe this wasn’t aimed towards those who haven’t travelled, but it’s still a nice gesture to those who have”. Arsehat.

What a performance, played to the conditions as last night wasn't the game for playing out the back. Hoping with Peers and Caton back in we're now well on our way to push on and solidify a play off spot. As others have said scoring first seems to really settle us and we can work on from there. Hats off to Stanway and his defensive group grinding out another clean sheet.
As for the 303 who go away hats off to them, deserve all the praise they get. If you really wanted to go, you'd book time off, you'd get a baby sitter or family to baby sit etc. Home games are easy to do.
