Good start to the season today...wait a second. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to Tuesday night as it will be our first game of the season in front of a healthy crowd. Fylde will be a tough game but we will be very hungry and eager to get a positive result. I'm sure JM would have done his homework on them and kudos to him for going there today. Hopefully the team can finally stop the rot in front of us all. Come on you blues! Score: Chester FC (Dawson, Turnbull) 2-1 AFC Fylde Attendance: 2,288 (216 AFC Fylde) COYB!

Let's hope we can start the season well against Fylde with a win and give our fans some hope ! It would be nice to get over 2000 fans in but I can see it falling short at about 1900 with about 100 away fans. A win though could see us get a good crowd v Halifax who always bring a decent following and are a team who we seem to have a bit of needle with .

3-1 Blues with White x2 and Mahon to score. Think if we start well the fresh legs could work in favour. They aren't world beaters they nearly lost to Boring Wood.

Cestrians 1885 will be doing a display before kick off, in the middle of the Harry Mac. Your support in joining us, singing and getting behind the team is hugely appreciated. Thank you

Went to watch Saturday's game v boreham Boreham were the better team at the start but fylde came back into it after they settled down. We need to be at them quickly not let them settle as once there nerves went Saturday they were a decent team. We should beat both but it will be a tough game and we need to get at them from the start. I am going for a 2-1

I am going for a 2-1 I admire your optimism but I'm not sure we can make sweeping statements like 'we should beat both' when we have no idea at this point how we are going to perform competitively ourselves. Fylde haven't splashed the cash in the way I perhaps expected them to, therefore on paper our squad should be good enough to take something from this fixture - hopefully 3 points. The quicker we can break our unwanted 2017 home 'record' the better and points on the board early are always vital in this league.

Really don't want to ruin all the positivity, but after Saturday's anti climactic start, I've a feeling the lack of competitive match sharpness may play a part here. Desperately hoping for a blues win but can see a 2-1 defeat Att: 2145

Proper looking forward to essentially our opening game of the season, especially looking forward to a slap-up curry and a pint in the BB. Had a bottle each of Spitting Feathers' Special Ale and Thirst Quencher on Friday night (on sale in Hawarden Estate Farm Shop) but Solihull ruined my weekend. Going for an action-packed 2-2 draw and I'll take that against a side expected to challenge for the play-offs.

Difficult match to predict score wise but if our crowd is below the 2000 mark I'll be very disappointed.

I can't believe that so many Chester fans are a predicting a home win. I'm wondering if we get in front with 10 minutes to go can we close the game down. We couldn't last season. I think a draw will be an excellent result.

Not in the country for this one and gutted to be missing it.
Last season holds no significance for us now, it's a largely new team with more experienced players. I think we'll win 2-0 and I really hope we get a strong crowd of 2000+ there to see it.

Must surely be more than 2,000 for what is now the first game of the season? The Fylde away travel is full . . . not sure how many that is. I'll go 2,407 and a 2-2 draw.

To be fair it will be a very nice mini bus with leather seats and a good sound system and plenty of leg room to fit all four of their supporters in. 😂

I'm cautiously optimistic about AFC Fylde game as I always am, but after 58 years of supporting the Blues I'm a realist. As I said yesterday a draw will be like a win after last season's meltdown.

Our first home game last season we only got 1,841 after an encouraging end to the 2015/16 season (although admittedly we were brought back down to reality at Gateshead). After beating Dagenham 3-0 we still didn't manage 2,000 the following Saturday. As much as I'd love us to break 2,000 tonight I'm not banking on it.
