1-1 doesn't tell the tail we were very much second beat but got lucky. So we made a poor team look like premiership we are in mega trouble this season even though we are unbeaten can't believe I'm saying that weird!!

On the face of it a good point but I'm looking around for at least 4 teams we will might finish above So far I have Halifax, Torquay, Solihull, Guiseley We have a habit of 'staying in games' - OK, we could have won any of the three so far and we could have lost them - but we've given our chance to take points and keep our tally ticking over. Maybe not the most entertaining (as has been covered on other threads), but hopefully we'll be tough to beat.

I never went but I am very pleased with a point at a tough place.

Sounded like we rode our luck and scrapped it out but that's the best we can hope for with this manager. A draw away from home on a Tuesday night is fine for me, but got to back that up with a result against Sutton now. 3 draws prove that if nothing else we are solid and gritty, now is the time for Macca to release the shackles and have a go at Sutton.

Pleased with the point but as I've said before, this side just doesn't create nearly enough.
It's a real worry.

Anyone who didn't go, don't even try slagging off that performance or McCarthy. Lads did us proud when Hartlepool were pushing for a winner. Impressive performance by all

Impressive performance by all I'm not one who slagged him off but they hit the bar/post three times. We were very lucky to get a point from that and we only scored from a bad error.

Impressive performance by all We all know how easily pleased you are, pal. I'll wait for some neutral feedback on the game. Sounded like we got battered on the commentary. Your 10 point minimum target is still within reach mind at this average of a point per game. 46 points should see us around 23rd come April. No one dare criticise McCarthy, though.

Finishes 1-1. I mean it's a decent point but it sounds like we sat back far too much after HT A points a point, but sounds like we were gifted a goal and then hung on for dear life. Only Hartlepool's poor finishing saved us. 3 games in and 3 points. 3 points needed on Saturday.
have to say, it sounded dreadful on the commentary and we seemed to be battered. Forgetting them hitting the woodwork three or four times , but how many corners did Pool's have ? Given we haven't won at Pools since 1971, in normal circs this would be a great point. But the way we are playing once again this season, with virtually a new team and McCarthy resorting to his fabled 451 formation is highly concerning. It will be interesting to hear Pools fans views on the blues performance.

Impressive performance by all Get out of McCarthy's rectum, everyone is entitled to an opinion. Had the live text on and it sounded we were fortunate to pick up a point tonight. Mistake for our early goal and sounded like we retreated and went negative second half, the substitutions made showed McCarthy's intentions. On paper a decent point tonight, more concerning the attitude of the manager to hold on rather than going for the second killer goal. Anyway, on to Sutton at home Saturday who have started well. Wonder if McCarthy will be delighted with a point then, and will you?

It's a good point if we win on Saturday. Anything less and you have to say it's a poor start.

A point against Sutton would be a bonus. Looks like they are going to be right up there and won at Tranmere on Saturday. Not a great start by our neighbours either. Two 0-0s so far at Torquay and Guiseley. Alabi came off the bench tonight

We did retreat and did the usual tactic of leaving nobody forward when defending a corner which was frustrating to watch as we were stuck in our own half. Negativity which invites pressure. Considering though, you could see that the lads tried tonight.

Good away point but I think we're 2 points light with 3 games in. Need a better showing on Saturday and would love to see him with a more positive set up and let's attack Sutton from the first whistle.

Sorry to say that is a very big IF at the moment with Suttons results so far, But here's praying (again) for a first home win since 17th December 2016 !

Considering though, you could see that the lads tried tonight. Interestingly though Hartlepool did exactly the same, kept everyone back defending corners. You don't see it often. We worked hard and defended well but should have been beaten. In the first half despite being on the back foot we were still a threat going forwards. There was virtually nothing for us in the second half though after he dropped Akintunde in to midfield going 4-5-1. Lucky.

Can't say I'm confident, the man is stat mad and I dare say he will already be worrying about stopping Sutton playing rather than trying to impose our players on the game in a positive manner.

Fylde, Fax and Pools have all made weak starts and yet we haven't looked like beating any of them. Indeed, tonight we were comfortably second best.
I think Saturday will tell us a lot.

For anyone saying I'm talking about them, I haven't read through his thread yet. Just saying that they performance doesn't deserve much critisism. If we had that performance during a good spell of form we'd all be saying it was a good display

It sounded like we were very lucky on the commentary, but also that the players put in a lot of effort against a team that has some good quality players in there.
It will be another tough game on Saturday against Sutton though, so will we see another defensive performance at home or will Macca loosen the reigns?
