Jon returns to his native north east on Tuesday night as we make the trek to Hartlepool. They have had a slow start and reading their press some want Harrison out already. It seems they are likely to be under quite a bit of pressure to get a positive result. Personally I'm not sure how this game will go what do we think?

I actually think that we might nick this one. Hartlepool have had a tough start to life in the National League and are still finding there feet, so we could cause them problems. Also, our current tactics are best suitable for away games. I can't make this one as I'm going on holiday to Blackpool today for a few nights, but I would have been going if that wasn't the case. Still, I will be cheering the blues on from the Lancashire coast, and hoping for an away win. Come On City! Score: Hartlepool United 0-1 Chester FC (Mahon) Attendance: 3,938 (375 Chester) COYB!

Hartlepool haven't started well. Their fans will expect them to beat non league teams at home. They've an unproven manager they'd probably never heard of until he was appointed.
It's the kind of game where you go, keep it tight for 20 mins, and get a result as the crowd turns. . .knowing us we'll be two down after ten minutes.
I'd be disappointed if we don't get something from the game. Unless the officials affect the result too much.

Their manager was complaining they always let a goal in after 30 minutes then have a mountain to climb. For the stattos when did we last play Hartlepool away and what was the score?

Ten years ago, and we lost 3-0. Remember it well actually, and they could've won it by many more. They were a good side that year. Earlier that season we beat them 2-1 at the Deva in what I seem to remember was a pretty bad tempered game.

Our record there is very poor in recent decades, don't recall us winning there in my lifetime and only occasionally have we got a draw. Tomorrow would be a great time to finally get a good result there.

Can't see us getting anything other than a 2-0 defeat.

They never really got to grips with the dreadful pitch at Maidenhead - expect them to be better at home. Amond is a good player up front.

Have never forgiven Hartlepool for finishing Roger Preece's career iwith a tackle from behind in the first game of the season about 20 years ago.

We're doing a full day tomorrow. Thirsk races races in the afternoon, then off to sunny Hartlepool in the evening. What a day! The 3 hour drive home after a disappointing defeat might take the edge off the day though.😥

I'm afraid this looks like a home win.
Just got back online after buying a new laptop. I haven't been following DC on my phone as Saturday's match looked like a continuation of last season and I wanted to think of something less depressing like cleaning the house. Obviously our manager should get 10 games, but unless we win a home game in that time I think he should go. Tomorrow's match is crucial against a team below us. I hope we win, but I think it will be Pools 3, Chester 0

Hartlepool have got off to an awful start but have a lot of decent players who have done the job at this level and above before. People have said that they think our style of play is better suited to playing away from home so tomorrow is a real test of that theory. I can't see us getting anything though, so I'm going for a 2-0 defeat. However, a win there tomorrow would certainly lift spirits and 5 points from 9 looks a lot better than 2/3 from 9.

I'm still optimistic for this season after the good close season and not ready to cave in to the doom and gloom mongers yet. A 3-0 defeat would of course do that.
I thought we battled well against a physical Halifax which bodes well for a trip up to Hartlepool, but we will need to show more skill in midfield and wide to get a result.
A 1-1 draw for me. Hannah penalty. Good luck to all those travelling fans, hope the return trip is enjoyable after a good performance.

Go see the Hartlepool's Maritime Experience if you travel early. Interesting 2-3 hours.

Given the start from both teams, I think this could be 3-0 or 4-0 or even 5-0. Problem is I don't know for which team!

I'd normally think a draw was pretty good here, but we do need to win somewhere and it seems like we're going to continue to struggle to pick up three points at home. Against a Hartlepool team who've started poorly and will be feeling the pressure in front of their home crowd, maybe this is our chance?

I tend to agree with you, if there's a good opportunity to come out of the blocks quickly and get their fans on the players backs it's tonight!

Just that there's a chance. I think we're a dour side more than anything. Even in this poor 2017 form, only Sutton have managed to give us a good hiding. Can see a narrow win either way.
