Just a quick question, what does he learn from all those hours pouring over DVD's? Must be a dodgy DVD player that is stuck on pause. Smith the clown used to have millions of DVD's, stinks of something similar, didn't do any good at all.

That was one awful and shocking performance. However, I'm getting used to such abysmal and gutless performances at the Deva. It looks like a group of strangers have come together for a game on a Saturday afternoon. No shape, plan or tactics at all. The club did not deserve over 2000 Chester fans there today.
The fitness levels are shocking as well. As much as I like Astles and Lynch they need to look at their physical condition.
Andy Halls also needs to grow some backbone. He fell apart because of a few hundred plastic Mancs giving him grief. However, Chappell was the worst player on the pitch once again!
It's time for a change and I just hope Garry Hill is given a call to rescue us from relegation.

Agree with all that. That performance from Halls today was as bad as anything we saw from Stephen Vaughan Jnr.

And dont even start me on Jordan Chappell. Giving him a contract for this season should have set the alarm bells ringing. Matty Waters is 5 times the player of this clown. I think you'll find if Chappell and Mahon was told that the men to mark was the full backs instead marking their attacking wide midfielders just because the full backs have no pace and that Kingsley James was told to get in the oppositions box at every opportunity instead on shielding he centre backs again because of a lack of pace.we might see these players having a better game, doing what they're are good at and creating more chances.i mean you wouldn't play John macombe to play left wing and slag him off for not getting many crosses in would we,play players in their right positions .Macclesfied played 1 upfront today so why couldn't our fullbacks push on to their two wide midfielders and shove our wide men on to their full backs,I'll tell you why too negative.

It's clear to me that Macca is quite an analytical guy and probably trawls through all the stats in his match preparation. That's not a bad thing, but that is usually the job of a coach or an assistant.
Everyone that will have played Championship Manager or Football Manager knows what it's like to have a spell when you have a squad of great players but just no matter what you do nothing works to get results. That's what it feels like with Macca and our home games, he's not getting anything right at all but he's not making it easy for himself or the players.

Someone else mentioned him after the Sutton farce and I believe he's the best choice. Never been relegated from the Conference.

Today was a dreadful performance against a really ordinary Macc team who could have scored 5 with a bit of composure up front, I accept we had no strikers available but when we them in previous games we were still shite! How on earth is Chappell still getting a game is beyond me , its like playing with 10 men. His effort is a disgrace to the shirt and our fans ! The longer Mcarthy is in charge the more damaging for our club as in my opinion we are hurtling towards the Conference North and 1200 gates , once we drop I fear we may not return for a long time and it could put the club in a spiral of decline. We all know the reason he is still in charge is his long contract so maybe a solution would be to put him on gardening leave and keep paying him weekly then employ a new manager which might keep costs down ?

That. Was. Crap.
It's take me until now to get my head round just how rubbish that was. Embarrassing to see us lump Astles up front for the final 20 minutes.
Thought the crowd were pretty patient today - it did seem like everyone wanted to get behind the team but that sort of performance killed the enthusiasm pretty quickly. I know we have no strikers but still. Don't believe this bunch of players can be any worse so the finger gas to point at the manager. He won't resign himself though. Not sure what else to say, agree with the vast amount of points on here. Pretty depressing evening.
And also embarrassing was the need to announce a Chester player man of the match. Painful. I'd have given it to Rio personally, the lad didn't put a foot wrong.
And did anyone else see the irony of having no strikers at all but the striker coach on the bench for once!!!

I wasn't at the match today, decorating instead. Obviously I had the more entertaining afternoon. I have been a fairly strong advocate of giving Macca a chance to turn things round following a promising close season, but I now have to accept this is not going to happen.
As a club we've done the decent thing and given him time, but to lose to Macc so easily after our contrasting pre-season and player changes is hard to swallow. I can't really add to what everyone else is saying, other than I can no longer back him.

Believe me it was shocking today, men against boys and if they had wanted to they could have stepped it up the last half hour and given us a real hammering today.

If I was a mac fan today I couldn't of wished for an easier afternoon. Turn up , watch team go one up in five minutes. Sit back , watch match. Laugh as oppo play every player on the pitch as a have a go striker. Get an easy second goal. Sit back (unlike their team who could of had a bagfull) and never EVER be in doubt about the 3 points. Wow that was easy for them! And I doubt they will be the last team down here to have such an easy ride. . I know we have got striker problems but who was meant to be our strikers today. Mahon, James,Chappell , akintunde, astles , dawson' Joyce, Crawford .... lynch? Kingsley looked like he had freedom of the pitch today( fair play for his work rate) , seen him as stricker, defensive mid, attacking mid', left back and right wing. Surely that's a role given to a high flying team that have a luxury of doing that.. Ffs does anyone know what there role is? NO! And there's only one man who does , but ultimately he dosnt. Macca out!

For me this is rather sad viewing as it's clear he is becoming desperate. Yes he's only got 13 players to pick from. That said why wasn't Shaw utilised in order that someone else could have been a makeshift forward? The way he talks about the aldershot win and throws that scenario in. Correct me if I'm wrong but I haven't seen any post match interview after that game. That was the time for him after the game not after today's. What does he expect the press to do? You can't just ignore the wretched home form. What frustrates me is it seems that there isn't any outstanding sides in this league this season. Yet with his negative approach our season is going to revolve around staying in the division and some fight it may well be. These next two games are very important. I'deally approached through different leadership

I don't think I've ever woke up the morning after a match feeling more down about my beloved club than I do right now and I wasn't even there. Is there any sign that The Board will take the only action acceptable to the vast majority of Chrstet FC fans?

Abysmal performance. Hope JM is trying at minimum to bring in a forward on loan for a month.

Just watched the post match interview and it's incredible. When we eventually get relegated and the reporter says 'Well Jon that's 18 months without a win at home have you anything to say to the 200 fans who turned up today?' Will the response be ' I'd just like to say remember Aldershot'.
He really has lost it. I had to laugh when he accused the reporter of having an agenda and appearing to say that lnot winning at home for 14 games was okay because we ended Aldershots 14 game unbeaten run.
Did someone change the league rules? Does beating the mighty Aldershot make a team immune from relegation? He has gone completely barmy, surely the board must do something. If they're waiting for him to resign they'll be waiting a long time because he doesn't think he's done anything wrong.

Obvious that with no strikers there would be limited outlet for midfield. However,Dawson and Chappell upfront just didn't work so like plying with 9 men.In addition Halls and LRT were awful ! Play the kids JM...at least they will try ! Embarassing today.
