It's easy to forget that by hook or by crook, we're still unbeaten away from home. You could argue we're doing something right on our travels, even though it doesn't look like it!
Overall though, it's not enough. Backs to the wall and riding our luck away from home is ok if it's backed up by strong home form, but it isn't with us.

Ross Hannah interview.

Back on the coach now after a really good day, only for the inevitable to be delayed. Usually I would be dancing with joy with a late equaliser, however I didn't today as we played the exact same as we have been doing all year. The majority of the 151 Chester supporters booed McCarthy off after that. It could've been worse if it wasn't for Ross Hannah keeping him in his job. In all fairness to us, we were unlucky in the first half as we hit the woodwork twice and Kingsley James missed a sitter. However, McCarthy's clueless tactics dominated the play yet again. I don't really need to explain in full detail, but all we did really was drop deep, hoof it to Bell and Akintunde, and let Torquay have the possession. Their 'goal' was rightly disallowed because John McCombe got booted in the head and we would've been in uproar over it. Thankfully the linesman chalked it off. Torquay were a very poor side, but we just let them have all the time in the world and not close them down. If we don't win on Tuesday then Jon HAS to go. We are all getting tired of this and nothing is going to change. If it wasn't for Ross Hannah, then he should've stayed in Torquay and applied for the managers job there. Here's to a very long journey back. Hats off to you and the other 150 for travelling down, brilliant support. Whilst I have made no secret from the end of last season that he should go, I take absolutely no pleasure in what you have said, which also corroborates the Seals radio commentary. The disbelief from the Commentators (Pinnington?) was obvious when Hannah scored. Even when his job is on the line (although he would refuse to accept this) , McCarthy’s stubborn approach and tactics are baffling , even when he has the tools at his disposal to play in a much more positive, and who knows winning style.

Why wait till after Tuesday? Why not sack him tonight? We won't win on Tuesday with or without McCarthy, but if he does go tonight, it'll lift the team before that game, let them show us what they are capable of without being held back by the clueless manager they have got and gives us a good chance of getting a win next weekend when hopefully we have gained a bit of momentum. This scenario only happens if Macca goes tonight. If he doesn't, then expect the next 90 mins (at least) to be another game full of frustration. Macca out. I'm sick of repeating it now, I'm sure many other fans are too but our voices just ain't being heard, are they? I agree with Sychdn Blue, if he doesn't go, then call an EGM and pass a vote of no confidence in the board. When the Board see a sub 1500 attendance on Saturday, they may just finally realise this situation can't go on any longer.

When the Board see a sub 1500 attendance on Saturday, they may just finally realise this situation can't go on any longer. At other clubs, football managers live and die by results. Why do we have to be the ones who hesitate. It's blatantly obvious that, by now, 90% of the fan base want McCarthy go. We elected people to the board in the hope that they will act within the best interests of the club. While I appreciate paying McCarthy off while leave a big hole in our bank accounts, delaying the inevitable will have an effect on attendances. It will also have an effect on results. Results will not go our way, relegation to the North occurs and then the club will be crippled. The board ought to answer to the fans wishes. This is becoming critical now. Fans will turn on the board, I've no doubt.

If our home form wasn't so dire then I think many of us would take it and move on. However, for me it's just more evidence that under McCarthy we aren't going to pick up enough points over the season to stay up.
Such is our narrow view though, I think today's draw means that whatever happens on Tues we'll feel justified in dragging this circus on a bit longer.

McCarthy keeps up his average of a point a game, which should see us in a safe 23rd place come April - probably with only Torquay below us. Incredible the fortune he has as a manager when you consider the number of times the woodwork saved us at Hartlepool and Aldershot as well as the refereeing decisions against Sutton and today. Those events and Ross Hannah's goal today have kept him in a job - for another week anyway.

Who knows why the Board won’t act now. I’m sure a couple of the most experienced players could temporarily act as player/managers and do far better than Mr McCarthy . Afterall, Mark Maguire said in his “Straight talking” Interview that ”we are not blindly carrying on because he's got a contract which prevents us from doing anything about his position". So what credible reason can there be in continuing to retain his services? Mr McCarthy’s’supposed positivity and professionalism?, his community work? or the naïve belief that all will come good ?

Anyone hear McCarthy's giving us the excuses list after the game.
That's us unbeaten away from home We had the Solihull debacle postpone opening day to cope with We had Macclesfield to face who had 24 hours rest more than us We have had 4 strikers injured Some other crap excuses also added.
Shut the hell up and GO.

I am the only one that hasn't a fuckin clue what he's doing? Who's telling him he's doing a good job??

Judge me when I have a fully fit squad I'll judge him on his management career as a whole and his record is appalling. There's always another excuse with him - it seems to keep him in a job though.

Well God help us if Ryan Astles is ever seriously injured. He was head and shoulders above the rest today and seemed the only one that gave a shit along with Kingsley the only other but he missed a couple of good chances. Most of the rest were dross with Mahon and Dawson the worst. We are a relegation side unless things change along wuth Torquay, Soluhull and Guisely.

There some of it on Charlie Croasdale twitter. Listen and weep. Laughable. . What a clown. Still going on about last season's unbeaten run conveniently forgetting Sharps involvement. Good to know he's been inundated with e mails and tweets of support this week - come on, own up, who apart from Richard has been sending them A bloody fantasist.

As a Chester supporter (since 1992) I never, ever thought I'd dislike a manager so much to the point where I would not attend a game until there is a change. Well done McCarthy, you are obviously oblivious to the current plight and it appears that you will not be doing anything to change the approach to how things are progressing (if you can call it progress) so either you are doing this to take the piss out of us, out of spite because of a few nasty tweets, or you are simply doing this to ensure you get the sack (which WILL happen) and you get a nice pay-out. Until McCarthy goes, I've really got to reconsider setting foot inside the Deva. The recent attendances are saying the others are feeling the same way, but I never thought I'd get to that point. That point has been reached. McCarthy, you make Gordon Hill seem like a respectable manager. GET OUT OF OUR CLUB.

Just heard the rest of the interview above. 'I would like to thank all the fans for the backing they have given me all week, the messages, the emails, the tweets' Come on, this guy is on a WUM. He clearly gets a buzz out of the reaction he gets. It would fit with some of his appalling responses to fans I've witnessed when they question him. He's immune to criticism and laughing in our faces. Hardly the 'nice guy' that some try to convince us of.
