The live table makes for worrying reading. Only September but you don't to be getting cut adrift at ant stage. I think the problem is that not only have we let 10 games pass now, but also that we won't get an easier run of 8 games all season than the ones McCarthy scraped 7 points from. The new man is going to come in right in the thick of a tough set of fixtures. Big mistake giving McCarthy the close season and 8 games of this one. I don't criticise the two and a half year contract as it seemed a good idea at the time and was done for the right reasons, but the decision to keep him on was a foolish one, and most of us could have told them that. Absolutely. It was obvious at the time. Nothing to do with hindsight as some have embarrassingly suggested. |

Dejected by that. We were the better side and didn't deserve it. Great attacking performance by the lads and a completely different atmosphere in the team compared to last week.
When your luck is down, it's down but keep doing the right things and eventually things will come good.

Bitterly frustrating tonight and a symptom of our trips to Gateshead. We never get anything there. However, if the board can appoint the right manager, and we can add 3-4 players to provide a bit of depth, there does seem to be a decent squad in here. They just need organising properly, the poor players like Joyce, Chappel and Davies need to be moved on and they need to work on their mental application. I can't decide whether the issue of late defeats is a lack of fitness, application or a bit of both but there is clearly an inherent issue that's been around the place for far too long.

When they said ball had bounced off corner flag and out on the wrong side I wanted to go on-line to Ladbrokes and put a grand on us conceding in the last seconds. I have to say that I actually started an ironic laugh before we'd even conceded. Oh the fun of being a Blues fan. Bummer. Well done boys for making a fight of it - my heart goes out to you. Just don't do the conceding last minute thing at Dover. The journeys are long enough without having that gnawing away at you for 5+ hours of coach journey.

Sounds like a really soft winning goal as well. When you're already struggling in a campaign and something like that happens you really do start to fear the worst.
