Lets see if I have more luck than Rio although I doubt it but to remain optomistic after a rocket from MB maybe a 1-1 with Hannah getting it and 886 Blues making the trip

I’ll make my prediction after watching TRFC v Orient on BT Sport. Could do with bruiser and TRFC having a couple of dismissals!

Can’t wait for this one! Best away day by a mile, and probably the best chance we have had in years of beating Tranmere away. We should take a healthy following again, but performance-wise big improvements need to be made from last night. Hopefully we can put Trampmere under pressure early on then score another goal later on. Come On City! Score: Tranmere Rovers 0-2 Chester FC (Hannah, Astles) Attendance: 7,988 (1,257 Chester) COYB!

Tranmere beat Orient 2-1 although had a bit of luck with both goals. They lost Tollitt and Norburn to injuries though, but do have strength in depth.
Two wins on the bounce now for them, so will no doubt be confident going into Saturdays game. I think the key will be keeping it tight and try and frustrate them, we it will be a very tough game.

They've got more quality than us, no doubt. I'd take most of their team over ours, starting with the keeper, Norburn, Cook (albeit he's a toe rag) and Tollitt. Would snap your hand off now for a 0-0.

Love your enthusiasm and optimism Rio, I was once like you, but years of torture watching the blues has drained it out of me. Can't see anything but a comfortable win for Tranmere and nowhere near that many blues fans. 2-0 Tranmere 800 Chester in a 6500 attendance

TRFC v Orient 90 mins of very average football played in Jerk-in-bed Mersey Mizzle. Tollitt was back from injury and before he went off with a knock he looked OK playing as a left winger using his right foot 90% of the time. Defensively TRFC switched between a back three and a back four. Both Buxton and McNulty are very slow and could well model for ‘Clarissa’. If CFC can attack the inside-left channel on a consistent basis then I feel we will achieve a result. Norburn is TRFC’s main player in midfield and doesn’t mind mixing it. Mottley-Henry came on as sub for the injured Norburn towards the end and played as a right winger (quite a lot of pace, but erratic); if he is used on Saturday he will have to be watched. If Norburn recovers from his knock someone needs to test his right foot/ankle early on, as stated he is the main connection between defence and attack and will cause problems if not marked properly. Hopefully, MB will be able to lift the lads as I feel we are able to get at least a point. IMO whoever scores twice will probably win the game. I’m going for a 1-1 draw.

No fucking chance. We won't keep a clean sheet. And you think we'll suddenly find form away to that lot who have now won two on the bounce - looking for a hat trick of wins against us on Saturday. Riot, I know you're young but come on kid, not a hope in hell of us getting a win at PP

Don't know why everyone gets so wound up by Rio's predictions. Weirder things have happened than us winning away at an underperforming Tranmere. Don't fancy it myself, but if you don't at least think there's a possibility, what's the point?

Bignot has said if they don't perform on Saturday then there's no point turning up for training 👏 I've liked pretty much everything he's said so far. There's no doubt they've been mollycoddled too much in the last nine months. I don't believe in discipline for the sake of it - Mark Wright, for example, is a bully in my opinion - but when they've been as poor for as long as we have, they need to be told in no uncertain terms that it's not good enough.

I'm only going on Saturday because I pre-bought my ticket. After that I'm taking a sabbatical after watching a young Woking team inflict an 8th consecutive defeat on us. They always had us beat because they possessed the ability to pass and move, which sadly we don't. The icing was on the cake for me was when I went to take my seat and there was a Woking fan in it. The person that had brought him asked me to be reasonable. I didn't want to cause any trouble so I ended up moving to another seat and leaving my son on his own until the season half. It was his first ever game at the Deva. The people that brought this Woking fan should have moved ... not me. I thought about complaining to MM, but I think he's got enough on his plate at the moment. I've supported Chester for 58 years and what we've been subjected to in 2017 is worse than anything I've seen in those 58 years including us finishing bottom of Division 4 for my first 3 seasons. At least it was new and we'd lose games 5-4 and the like. Tranmere won last night and despite what Rio thinks we'll lose 3-0. I'll retake my seat if it improves, but I'm not now convinced that MB is the Messiah.

I think it's totally unfair to come to any conclusions about Bignot yet. For me, he's saying the right things so far and seems to have addressed some problems we all knew about but McCarthy seemed oblivious to. He got a good response from the players in his first game but Tuesday night seemed to see old problems rearing their heads again, and sorting these issues out is not going to be an overnight process.
Regarding Saturday, I think to have a chance we need to frustrate Tranmere. Bizarrely, it's the sort of game McCarthy might have got a result from, but I'm not calling for anything that negative! What I will say is that in my experience, Tranmere have some of the worst fans around for getting on their team's backs, and this has only intensified as they've slipped down the leagues. They'll be expecting an easy win, so the longer it stays 0-0, the more impatient they'll get and that could work in our favour.

Fear the worst if we let an early goal in, and their crowd gets behind them. They might just be starting to click and move up the table. They should be top with the players they've got. I thought they'd run away with the league this season.
Hopefully though, we'll start well and not go behind. Then their crowd will get at them, and they'll get edgy.
Can see us getting stuffed 5-1 if it all goes wrong.
Or maybe, just maybe, hanging in there for a well earned point, or even three if we get some luck. That maybe is why we travel to these games.

They've spent up and lost a six figure sum on a failed rock concert during the summer. Tranmere fans are hoping that the Pallioi will stump up some money for loan players because their summer recruitment has been as bad as ours.

Don't fancy it myself, but if you don't at least think there's a possibility, what's the point? I think its the fact that they aren't predictions, just that Chester WILL win every game based on a 14 year-old's unbounded optimism. As you said in a previous post they won't just unlearn all the failed things that they've been doing since Christmas. It will take weeks or even months.
