So the Tranmere game this Friday then, which should be our biggest gate of the season. What initiatives have been launched to try and entice fans down to the ground?
I believe we were told that the club have had 'lots in the pipeline'.
Can someone itk list the initiatives we have to advertise the backside out of this game?
Much appreciated

In addition to the above, can a club official confirm how many tickets have been sold so far and what our official capacity is for this game.
Much appreciated

No indication on Tranmere's website that they have sold out. Must say I'm surprised by that, though I think they only go on open sale today.

Yes general sale today. A Tranmere fan I work with bought 3 tickets earlier.
My question is primarily aimed at initiatives aimed at Chester fans, or to entice people into the home end.
I.e. Friday Night Football Fever..

I know that mate. Not heard of any initiatives from our end. The win at Southport won't harm, but live BT coverage might.

Given our projected loss this season as things stand you would think we would be busting a gut to advertise and shout out about our remaining home games, particularly this as its our highest profile game between now and the end of the year.
I believe our chairman has said that we have lots in the pipeline for this game?

Agreed I would have given them the West Stand and South.
Still just want a list of the initiatives we have going on at the moment though.
And an official number of tickets sold so far

And an official number of tickets sold so far I spoke to a chap in the ticket office last week, I asked why we never gave them all the west stand, he claimed it was on Jon McCarthys request as he didn't want his players coming out the tunnel and seeing 2000 tranmere fans in the ground.

It's all in the pipeline mate, that pipeline is coming from china but it's definitely in there and should be here ready for next week.

Why are you asking for a comment from a club official on an unofficial fans forum? I get that you're trying to make a point that there seems to have been little done to drum up extra support, but it just looks petulant.
I'm sure you're already aware, but you can email the Chief Executive directly at fans@chesterfc.com.

Why does it look petulant?
I'm asking a genuine question openly amongst our supporters from a club official - our chairman visits and posts on this board quite regularly??
We were told ideas were in the pipeline, all I want is to know what initiatives we have at the moment and how many tickets have been sold for Friday night.

I just find it a very strange way to go about it, asking for an official statement on a fans forum in the hope that our chairman finds the time to trawl through the forum and respond to this particular query, rather than emailing the paid Chief Executively directly, who usually replies very quickly.

Apologies, I made the assumption that this hadn't already been asked via email.

I know about the game, I know the ticketing situation but you are preaching to the already converted with me.
I'm asking what are we doing to try and boost the gate?
Like I've said, we were told there were things in the pipeline for this game??
4 days to go and all I can find on the official club facebook is a flyer about the game with 50 likes and 10 shares and something about a #underneaththelights
Where is the appeal to people in that or getting our brand out to the locals who aren't aware we have a club? Or have forgotten about us?
People LOVE a competition online, a "like and share" competition is so quick and simple to do with minimal effort, and it gets our brand out there in the local community.
For instance over a thousand likes and Shares for when Cowards of Frodsham give away a hamper of meat!

It's madness not to give Tranmere 2000 tickets for this game ! A perfect chance to boost funds and we pass on it. Is our ground capacity still 4000 ? Should be up to max now, we got stung with Barnsley replay by this !

Got to get the message out there..... We all know Tranmere we come in numbers not just at the game but in town all day prior to the match so unless the good people of Chester step up to the plate and back the boys it could end up like an away game!

You could always ask me... but I don't know. The club should put a billboard up in the City Centre and advertise the game. Friday Night Feva At The Deva, or, Lights... Camera... Action. If the club wants to make a profit, at least give Tranmere 2,000 tickets.

Must be a standard line . . . I got told the same when I said the Tranmere allocation was a bit low . . .

The need to drum up some interest amongst our local populace should be the highest priority. I'll say it again. Obvious way to increase away allocation for a game like this is to make it allocated seating for away fans and remove the netting in the south stand and increase the netting near h block. No need to give them the whole of the west stand.

It has been mentioned in the local press and I have also heard it on Dee 106. No excuse for not knowing about it. Where in the town centre would you intend to put the billboard and what cost would you expect to pay?

I go on the chronicle and listen to Dee numerous times but others don't. However much the billboard would cost the club, it puts the attention to people, tourists in a catchy way and advertises our club. I have saw lots of businesses have billboards put up, who might not make as much money as our club. It's an idea at the very least.

Riot,
Most people are on social media now.
Are we using social media effectively as a free advertising tool?

Riot, Most people are on social media now. Are we using social media effectively as a free advertising tool? I have social media and it's great that we advertise matches on it, but as I have said mostly people 50+ don't, so we should be encouraging the thousands of people who visit the city each year to come to our club, by putting up posters up or giving out freebies. This idea probably won't happen, but I am giving a suggestion. Some might agree with me, some won't, but the 'Our City' in our motto means the thousands of people who visit 'Our City' know that we have a football club, playing at the highest level possible in the football pyramid.
