I've previously posted about our CEO Mark Maguire and questioning what he is doing/has done? I might be wrong but I don't see him doing a lot considering he is a very well paid member of the club. A lot of people were made up with his little Q and A..... Pre selected questions so it makes out he's actually doing something. We haven't always had a CEO and I don't see what the current one is actually doing? Easy way to make back this 20K don't have a CEO save plenty of money then. I can't see how we're in position to have one considering our finances. The tribunal for Sam Hughes is his best plan to make the money back?? Can't expect to sell a player every year to make profit!

My only dealing with Mr Maguire was as follows : I had 2 tickets to donate for a cruise down the Dee & a meal. I thought they may be useful for eg the half time draw or whatever he wanted. He replied saying thanks very much & that he would be in touch to arrange completion. Never heard anything from him after that............

My personal experience of him.....my in laws spoke to the club before Xmas to get me the Heneghan scoring against Wrexham canvas. It was a special order so fair enough it was going to take some extra time. They heard nothing off the club for weeks, left messages with the club shop, promised calls back that we never got, tweeted the club with no response. Nobody at the club could deal with the simple enquiry of where the order was up to, so my wife eventually gets a call back after weeks of pestering and it's the big dog himself Mark McGuire. It's madness that a CEO should have to deal with such a routine enquiry that should have been handled by those underneath him with ease, but surely a man with his authority can now get to the bottom of it. My wife had a groan about all the people she had spoken to at the club and the false promises and he declared "well you haven't dealt with me yet" and was generally quite patronising. He assured my wife he'd get right onto it and let her know what's happened, this was about 3 or 4 weeks ago now and heard nothing. I've told my wife to give up, the club don't clearly don't want the money and not to waste her time trying to find someone down there who has any customer service skills. So yeah, not a great first impression of him from my point of view!

In the interests of fairness, I must add that when I emailEd the fan@Chester email address about a legends lounge enquiry he did respond the next day, so kudos for that.

My dad got his ticket yesterday at the ground but he had to sign a form for where he lives. The club have said that this will stop Tranmere fans from getting in the home end, but what if a Chester fan lives in Birkenhead? Madness.

No it's to get a database together to send information about future games, like Barnsley did with us.

Oh right, but it's also to stop Tranmere fans from sitting with Chester fans, as they have sold out.

My only dealing with the CEO was a very swift reply to a query about what we had planned to boost the gate for Non-League Day 2016. I was impressed.
Unfortunately the "lots of things in the pipeline" amounted to a poorly advertised (as in, it was only really aimed at existing supporters) ticket initiative for the family section. Good deal, I must say, but a bit of a letdown for my hopes for our NLD contribution.
MM has come across to me as a lot of "middle management" buzz words and phrases but little visible action. If he is tasked with generating funds into the club to put us on a sound footing to eventually move to a full-time model then what's being done about the poor attendances? This entire thread sums it up.
Of course, the board and the likes of MM are still relatively new so I guess we should probably start the slate from the end of this season when there is a new summer for them to work with in terms of initiatives and methods of doing this.

At least we have a club to support yawn. agree with NWAS, club is dead. It's for NWAS to confirm this, but I don't think he meant to say the club is dead, but in danger of dying if we failed to capitalise on marketing opportunities to build support and get he next-generation of fans to games. Haha he means nothing of the sort. Richard is right, unless we really look at how we market our club and sell our positive message and story to people, we aren't going to generate the future supporters.

Trying to get premiership fans in should of been done long time ago not a few days before we play Tranmere, to me it sounds like the club are disappointed with ticket sales and are getting desperate. And anyway why would Everton fans wanna pay £15-£18 when they can watch it on BT? Why 48 hours before the game have we randomly done this? No Everton fan is going to come down when it's live on television. Surely if we are going to target the big clubs then target them all, why just Everton? Stinks of an embarrassment half arsed desperate measure.

It seems unlikely that the game will attract a crowd of 4,000 plus. What a pity! These games used to attract 5-figure crowds in my youth. Another game we will lose money on then I guess. Being on TV is actually not worth the pittance that the club are paid.

I'm not into those Fire Sticks either, with p*ss poor quality on a lot of the apps and films etc. I still agree not many extra fans will attend, but i know of 3 Everton fans at are attending...every person counts.

The Operations Board advised the board to employ a CEO to alleviate the pressure on the Chair. So effectively the CEO is doing work that was previously done by the Chair (examples include dealing with Luke George's disciplinary proceedings, transfers etc), so that we are less reliant on Alan Povey who is a volunteer. So if from the outside it appears that he is "doing nothing" it's because he has absorbed work that was already being done elsewhere. That being said, I'm sure he has been tasked with additional work such as generating income and growing the fanbase, and I'm sure his performance will be assessed in due course, however it has only been 9 months so calling for him to be sacked is a bit unfair. I wonder, CTID, would you consider running for the board with a manifesto pledge of doing all of the CEO work unpaid like previous Chairs have done (hence why we went through 6 chairmen in 6 years), thus enabling the club to save circa £30k a year? I'd probably vote for you.

Personally i pay for Sky w/ Sports and HD regardless of cost I enjoy watching it for multiple sports, not just football, else i wouldn't bother with it. I've heard decent things about movies from friends, but not much cop about the sports.

To counter that - we had a Club Secretary who must have worked ten-hour days seven days a week for free replaced by a chap allegedly on 35k a year for ten hours work a week if you believe other posts above.

The good news, according to Tranmere's forum, is that home tickets are selling well. Sorry, home END tickets that should be.

Who remembers the last night game at Sealand Road, where we played Tranmere in an all ticket clash? The police ending up putting in a line of officers to segregate the last third of the road end for Tranmere fans.

I'd probably vote for you. Stockport County went into administration on his watch when he was in a similar role there. How did he get the job based on the above? With that on his CV surely his application should've gone in the bin? Suppose he gave all of his 'MD' talk at the interview I know a few Stockport fans and they hate him for his 'work' he did there. Many failed schemes to make money and a general arrogance about him. Doesn't seem much research has gone into hiring Mr Maguire. We're making a loss this year but don't worry Super Mark will be getting 100K from the Sam Hughes tribunal - Great business that Mark. Do that every year hey? Just sell a player! Only on 30K.... Is this published in the clubs accounts? Think be a bit more than that.
