The club have advertised for a new manager on Facebook and Twitter with a closing date of 18 April and interviews to be held the following week. Seems a very short timescale, I wonder whether they have someone in mind,

It’s worrying isn’t it that presently we seem to have no one within the club who is arguably got the correct knowledge to make what is likely to be a crucial appointment for us

Perhaps Rio is doing the interviews, after all he took training last week 😂or jimmy soul, mind you heard jimmy is doing the pitch this week while platty is in Barcelona enjoying his bonus.

Sounds like they already have a preferred candidate, hence letting Marcus go so suddenly and very short application window. Time will tell, hope selection isn't just done by who gives best presentation at interview and " blows the panel away". It would be good if the board brought in someone with recent experience of running a successful football club to help with process,....there is someone in Stockport who might be available (not)!

Be interesting to see who applies Also interesting to see who is competent enough to interview them. I’m sure the football working group AKA Calvin Hughes is more than qualified to get the right man, after all they didn’t need the advice of the 2 (conference north winning) managers we had at the club.

In all seriousness I think Callum McIntyre will be the next manager.

Neither do I, but have a strange feeling and he will be a cheap option. If they do they then we would be looking at back to back relegation. Enough of this 'he is one of our own' bollocks. We need a tested manager in the Conference North!

Would love Callum to one day become a legendary manager at Chester FC, but by his own admission he is a million miles away from being ready. If he took the job on now he might become scarred for life and set back his development by years.

Can we please stop these hypothetical silly posts as Callum has already stated he is not interested in First Team position. Got it now ?

Calvin Hughes to nominate himself for the job? He's already declared himself far more experienced in football strategy than Neil Young and Marcus Bignot.

There is, specifically, no reference to proven management record at either National, National North or similar. However, under Key Attributes is this; “Having proven experience of working with a successful Youth Academy Structure with clear Player development skills.” This is far from what I expected of the essential and desirable qualities and experiences required. It looks, in fact it stinks, of being tailor-made for a cheap option. Shame on you, Chester FC. for such a job advert.

Rumour is that the investment that won't have any impact on fan ownership may well have other impacts i.e. management. Originally dismissed as rubbish, subsequent events have meant beggars can't be choosers. Any truth in it? I can't see it myself but it would explain the incredibly short closing date, almost as if has already been decided and just going through the 'best practice' motions?

The board already know how it is going to be. They must think we are all stupid. It all is starting to make sense now. Two board members walk out, Young walks out, Our manager is sacked in a car park. Our players budget is announced and we have given til Wednesday for C V. It all just stinks. The board have turned into a big joke. They have pick our new manager before the process has started. All of this is starting to scare me now.

It does say 'with ideally proven experience of a similar role in Non League football' Correct Billy, but as I’ve said, it doesn’t stipulate at what level. Only 92 clubs out of thousands are League Clubs after all.

Calvin Hughes 8/1 on Bet Victor, are they taking the piss? We might as well put this up in the Job Centre.
