The board already know how it is going to be. They must think we are all stupid. It all is starting to make sense now. Two board members walk out, Young walks out, Our manager is sacked in a car park. Our players budget is announced and we have given til Wednesday for C V. It all just stinks. The board have turned into a big joke. They have pick our new manager before the process has started. All of this is starting to scare me now. Don't be scared. Nobody knows who it is going to be. The Board certainly do not. I would bet my house on this. This person will be out off work ask we speak or any assistant.

Calvin Hughes to nominate himself for the job? He's already declared himself far more experienced in football strategy than Neil Young and Marcus Bignot. He’s 8/1, third favourite, for the job of bet victor.

Heard a few weeks ago Andy Holden will be next manager, be intresting to see who gets it. Didn't he rule himself out too saying he wasn't ready to manage but would take assistant manager ? I Couldn't see Andy Holden saying that with all his experience, he was the Everton reserve team manager for years and then assistant manager with Alan Stubbs at Hibs when they won the cup.

Mind you, if Calvin is interviewing Calvin, you never know Already appointed himself in a role he has no clue or experience in before Wouldn't even suprise me probably a done deal

Thanks in advance. Embalmer, I may be wrong here as I've been poorly for a while, but as far as I'm aware, the make up of the interview panel is yet to be decided. What I can tell you is that all the conspiracy theories mentioned on this thread are just that. The Board will be very much playing a straight bat here. There is no other way.

Sounds like they already have a preferred candidate, hen9ce letting Marcus go so suddenly and very short application window. Time will tell, hope selection isn't just done by who gives best presentation at interview and " blows the panel away". It would be good if the board brought in someone with recent experience of running a successful football club to help with process,....there is someone in Stockport who might be available (not)! That is a very small window of opportunity but given the predicament we are in the sooner we have a qualified football person at the club the better. All we need to do now is hope the right people apply and the interview panel are able to identify that. With circa £200K of the budget already committed with contracted players and offers made to four of the current squad it is easy to see that the prospective manager/coach has already got a massive job on his hands. Worrying times.

I’m thinking that the board must think that there will be suitable applicants after the last round of interviews and would like to appoint a manager to inspire the fans and hopefully the season ticket sales.

Just seen the details and objectives for the new manager/ head coach on Twitter. One of which is ensuring the player pathway is met? What is our player pathway? Who is the club scout? What is our recruitment policy?
OBJECTIVES
Deliver a competitive First Team Squad containing Players who have a desire to progress.
Further develop the Club Football ethos, embrace the Fan owned model and Community Trust.
Ensure the Player Pathway is met.
Keep expenditure within the allocated limit of the Football Playing Budget.
Adhere to Club policies and standards at all times inclusive of the Code of Conduct.
Develop a strong working relationship with the Club Scout for identifying player talent and recruitment.
Comply with the Club recruitment policy that relates to the principle of local recruitment of Players.

Can't understand why people have only been given until Wednesday to apply. What's the rush? Everyone in football will know the job is coming up. Why wait two weeks longer? We need to appoint someone asap. Preferably before the end of the season, or certainly the week after.

If results are not going to plan would he sack himself in the car park? I’d go for Jay Cartwright. His success with Woking is unparalleled.

Hate to say this but got a horrible feeling it could be Gavin McCann almost took over when Young left first time around until Burr had a change of heart and he's been linked again

Logic would say I agree with you, but this is Chester FC. Have a good look at the advert. There is, specifically, no reference to proven management record at either National, National North or similar. However, under Key Attributes is this; “Having proven experience of working with a successful Youth Academy Structure with clear Player development skills.” This is far from what I expected of the essential and desirable qualities and experiences required. It looks, in fact it stinks, of being tailor-made for a cheap option. Shame on you, Chester FC. for such a job advert. In a way, of course it will be a cheap option - have people been on Mars for the last few months?!

I'm referring to the general "cheap option" line - it probably will be a cheap option because we have a very limited budget.
