Sorry but you seem to miss the point we admittedly can't do better with what we've got because Mccarthy resigned the same team that failed last year and he is going to do it again next season - The likes of Hudson George Horwood Richards Chapple are plodderequired with no flair but he is resigning them up again- that's not down to budget as I'm sure there are better players out there - Mccarthy for whatever reason can't see it and wants a happy merry dressing room but if players know there wanted and not in danger of losing there contract you get what you see now plodding football

Not entirely true that the bad form coincides with Sharps leaving. Sharps left in mid-November, we were in reasonably good form up until Christmas. I think it's a combination of a small squad being stretched, a tough run of fixtures and one or two poor decisions from the manager, including perhaps his choice of assistant. Today does feel a bit like one poor result too many and I can understand some of the frustration and concern. Think we've got to stick by him though and to just rubbish what he achieved earlier in the season is unfair. Let's not be one of those clubs like Southport that sacks two or three managers a season and is still just as useless. One or two poor decisions ? Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Stick by him ? If he keeps us up this year we could be relegated by February next year at our current points rate . You should have stuck to winding up the inbreds on Red Passion . I've never posted on Red Passion, presume you're confusing me for someone else.

You should have stuck to winding up the inbreds on Red Passion . I've never posted on Red Passion, presume you're confusing me for someone else. Some people as so quick to slate the club for any decisions. You can't just look at the points in the last 5-6 games, you have to look at our total points tally and assess where we are. We're a bottom half-mid table budget with a lowering fan base and people expect us to be winning every game. When we do win there's a 2 page match thread because half of the posters are gutted they've got nothing to cry about. I personally thought the contract extension was rushed, because of a fantastic run of form where at the time, many of the whinging posters were mentioning playoffs. We can't afford a manager change paying out two years of JMs contract either way. We've made our bed. What would help is the same atmosphere as yesterday and getting behind the players as much as possible until half of them leave in a couple of Months time. One thing I can't stand is morons coming on here posting during the match is being played, posting utter dross about players! One lad yesterday was posting most the game and clearly wasn't even there slaying individuals, I just can't understand it.

When the results start to go pearshape as they have done since Christmas you think that oh well it's only a blip, but there comes a time when you realise that that nothing is changing and it's not a blip. We have games against Woking , Torquay and York City, who will be fighting for their lives. The other 7 games are against mainly top half teams. All those 10 teams will almost certainly be better than Eastlieigh who were poor today. We need 4 or 5 points. Where will they come from? 10 games to get the 6 points we need. I think we'll be ok. Hope you're right!

Really think anyone will struggle here on the budget we have, yes mistakes are being made but it's his first go in the hot seat give him time.
Those that think this club should be up there need to give their head a wobble. The days of running away with lower leagues have gone and we are at our level.

Weve got decent shirt sponsor's, ground and stand sponsors, legends lounge is packed, better crowds than most in the conference, where is all the money going? Or are the sponsors paying peanuts? Something doesn't add up

I can't answer that, but on dwindling gates sponsor money won't go far. I know many don't agree with my opinion but I really think this club needs Somebody to back it. Not to the point of complete ownership but of matching what the fan base ownership can bring in.
Apart from that I honestly think this club will tread water for a long long time. I would love nothing more than to see a side push for promotion but in reality you need £s in the bank.
Also think the price puts many off now which in a city that really has struggled to back it's local club since the 7o's is a big factor.

We got 54 points last season with a late flourish of wins. It seems unlikely that we'll reach 54 points this season. McCarthy has 2 more years to go after this season. We've only done well when Sam Hughes and Ryan Astles have been the central defensive partnership and yet the only game this year that Sam and Ryan have done that was the 1-0 at Southport. At least last season under Burr we never had such long poor runs, we'd always come up with an unexpected win. Absolutely gutted that we,ve gone so long without a home win. 5 home games left to get a win. I wouldn't put any money on it. Jon McCarthy is the right man for our club, no doubt in my mind. Any talk of replacing him is just pure madness

I think talk of sacking the manager is premature. Rightly or wrongly he has signed a long contract, there have been positive results and performances this season and there seems to be a great team spirit and morale around the place. However, recent form and in particular home form has not been to the required standard and supporters are rightly asking questions. Not having an assistant there on match days is fine with me when results are positive. Results are far from that though and questions have to be asked of the situation. Another worry are the rumours that all the squad have been offered terms for next season. I'm all for continuity but there are some who just don't warrent a new deal. I do feel JM has been so unlucky regards injuries but then some players seem to be forever injured, which we just can't carry in a small squad.

I would love nothing more than to see a side push for promotion but in reality you need £s in the bank. Also think the price puts many off now which in a city that really has struggled to back it's local club since the 7o's is a big factor. Which is why I really believe we took the wrong approach immediately after reformation. Everything should have been about sustainable growth. Keep admission down keep it affordable to all and aim to grow the fan base l. As the fan base grew our income would naturally grow along with it. More people going would make us a far more attractive proposition to sponsorship and we could truly boast to be a truly affordable fun, family afternoon out. We may have spent a couple of years in the Evo Stik leagues and Conference North but by God I would rather have a club that regularly had 2,500+ home fans in attendance every week and a full Harry McNally than staring at a stand barely 1/3 full. It is a fucking embarrassment and the legacy that we have been left with for those first 3 years where nothing else mattered but Conference at ANY COST. How do we fix this now? It needs a major rethink as to how the club advertise their games and appeal to the local populace. As far as growth ideas we are no further along the road since Bob Gray came out with his much vilified "cup run" idea on how to bring money in. A complete review of the way in which elected CFU board members and volunteers work in conjunction with Mark McGuire. Do volunteers have enough space to bring their own ideas to the fore? How open are the lines of communication interdepartmentally? Organise your workforce. As soon as those fixtures come out in the summer it needs a full meeting between CT CEO, Club CEO, and the media team to work through what the plan is going to be for the season. At this point we identify which games fall in line with school holidays, easter, Christmas, identify games that the CT want to bring in local organisations for free ticket initiatives. MT and club can then support CT and push advertising campaign via all forms of social media and in the local press. MT can organise match day fliers to be designed and then stored on hard drive (backed up on data stick) to be released as soon as possible. There should be no last minute rush jobs trying to advertise because we've not sold enough tickets (e.g. Tranmere game). There should be a plan, a structure in place as soon as those fixtures come out so that we can properly advertise the games. As others have touched upon, the match entertainment is poor. Very poor particularly the none existent half time enjoyment. What happened to the former player "guest of honour" with pitch side interview? The crossbar challenge, penalty shootout with the reserve keeper or Dave Felgate... Just anything for a bit of fun at half time. Get Big Lupus back out to entertain the kids in the ground when we do get kids in the ground. The form on the pitch is cack yes, and you can argue that the players are letting the fans down etc etc. But can't the same be said about us as well letting the management down? Can we all look in the mirror and say - hand on heart - that we contribute enough of our time to help improve the situation at the club? I know I can't.

There were a couple of things that went through my head yesterday whilst feeling bemused at what I was seeing in front of me. We have a newly liveried South Stand - decked from head to toe with MBNA logos, but with no one sat in it! Surely that isn't the PR MBNA want to be associated with? Sharing a few posts on Facebook seems to be the extent of our advertising campaign. Does the Community Stand still exist? I can't remember the last time there was any promotion of that. Our club has become home to mercenaries, people who take home a wage without delivering the goods and there are far too many 'nice' people letting them get away with it - including our manager. It seems that as long as they say what people want to hear, that's enough. Tangible reality doesn't seem to be a concept that is ever tested. And my second thought was.....where would we be if Alabi had/did get injured? We would be relying on that joke to play up front by himself. The same joke that decided to disappear off down the tunnel, not to be seen again, when he was taken off yesterday. Appalling attitude from a player whos level sits somewhere between the Evostik and the North West Counties. However, he's probably already signed his contract for next year, along with Joyce, George, Hudson and Chappell.

Don't understand this hate of Hudson. He did nothing wrong yesterday and thy scored after he went off. He's a limited player but makes a decent sub centre back. How can you whinge at him for being selected to play, it's bizarre and a bit thick.

I still think J M is the right man to lead us but I do think he's over doing the home work on our opponents and changing our systems to combat them for every game , let's just go back to playing 442 and attack sides especially at home let them worry about us instead of the other way round

The tangible reality is that as a business we are doing ok. There are some major challenges of course, but there are good things happening too. You just need to look further than the convenience of negativity

For all the Jon McCarthy 'love in' on here, we've lost six out of the last seven games, and haven't won at home this year . . . at a lot of clubs that would be curtains for the manager. We'll survive, possibly by the skin of our teeth, but it's not surprising folk are not bothering to turn up . . . 1,500 on Tuesday anyone? Can't believe he hasn't at least tried to bring a striker in on loan. James Alabi has carried our goal threat on his own for ages now. I wouldn't want us to be a club that sacks a manager after losing 6 games out of 7. It's poor at the moment but I'm happy that we are a club that is patient and doesn't make knee jerk sacking like Southport. Southport and Eastleigh have given managers the boot after a few bad results several times - it ain't done them any good - Southport are bottom and Eastleigh have reverted to the manager they had last season and ain't up too much either. Dumping your manager is no guarantee of improvement

This is a dreadful run we are so poor and what really concerns me is he is trying to sign up the same team for next season - he can't except or take responsibility for how shite we are by my reckoning we will be lucky to finish above bottom 6 - that is not progress- but worst of all is the boring tedious football being dished up every bloody game - wake up smell the coffee and accept unless we get in different manager we are going to drown with plummeting crowds - but wait he has signed a new long term contract ermmmm oh dear me Any suggestions for who you would like to take over? Not having a pop at you, just a genuine question. I'd have Alan Devenshire all day long

Which of the 10 games we've got left do you think we'll get points from Mr Blue? Other than Lincoln or Forest Gump I think we're capable of winning any of them, then again last season we went away to Grimsby and won so any things possible! If we play like yesterday we're not capable of scoring, never mind winning. Like I said Torquay, Woking and York City won't be easy. We've no motivation from the sidelines. Yesterday was a shambles. I think if we revert to 442 with a back 4 of Vassell, Astles, Hughes and Hunt we're at least solid at the back.

Yes of course it's the purpose of any business to make a profit and I'm not saying that we haven't got some significant challenges, however, the point I was making and probably not very well, is that not everything is negative. At times when things are going badly, a positive outlook is required and we dig our way out of it as a unit. No amount of name calling, wailing and gnashing of teeth is going to help. I don't buy this line of mercenaries taking the club for a ride or nice people being taken for a ride either. What I do see is the staff and volunteers working very hard to make things right. The reality of a significant loss worries me greatly too and we have to find new revenue streams urgently to support progress both on and off the field. Since reforming we have kept our head above water financially and even though we are going to make a loss this season, there are a number of clubs who would want to be in our position financially. We are debt free, albeit this season it will be by perhaps using some of our reserves, no doubt Laurence Kirby will keep us informed on that side of things. The likely sale of Sam Hughes will probably help with this season's loss, but we cannot rely on producing players of his calibre every season . Just looking to put some perspective on this mainly negative thread.

Richard, you were associated with the club when the mercenaries took over. We had a strong, community based club before Durkin and co took over - running the club to their own agenda. Mistakes were made, but everyone involved had the club at heart. It has never recovered and as crowds show, it has lost its community feel. You can dress things up with positivity all you like - in fact it seems a habit of those in position at the club. The facts are that we are about to lose 20k and crowds have continued to drop at an alarming rate. There's no doubt some people, such as Jim Green, are doing an excellent job at the club, but there has been no tangible improvements off the field for several seasons - despite several costly appointments. We are going to stay up this year, that has to be seen as a success. However, we will go into next season minus our main assetts and with a squad full of players that have not earned the right to be here. Someone has to get a grip at the football club and start making some difficult decisions, holding people to account and make decisions based on performance, rather than on keeping things cosy in the dream-land they seem to live in. Wasn't it only a few weeks ago that McCarthy thought the scouts would be lining up to watch Kane Richards. That comment in itself says everything you need to know about the man's warped reality.

I've spelt out personally what I would do if on the board myself. Review process, and implement change in the way we plan advertisement and marketing of the club's home games for starters. From the outside looking in recently I really do think we have massive problems with time management and organisationally, hence the 24hr before kick off rush job trying to shift tickets for the Tranmere game for example. Ticket sales and gate money is the main source of our income. Can you honestly say that the paid members of staff leading our volunteer workforce do anything and everything possible to let people know about our club??

He, McCarthy is in cuckoo land. He is being allowed to offer increased offers to the majority of the squad! Could be that he has not got the balls to tell certain players that they or not good enough for this league. Also it could be that he has not the ability to select 7 or 8 replacement players. He continually does the same as when he was with Burr, blame it on the budget, or give them a chance , there only young, like a broken record!! Finally he goes on about the 17 games, yes we had a good run but we drew allmost half of them, and that is in the past, we now are the worst form team in the league since Xmas !
I just hope the club included a few get ot of jail clauses in his contract, because with his weird football mentality , he will take the club down the drain !

On current form we will be lucky if we stay in this league this season . If the current points tally is repeated next season then relegation is a certainty . It is becoming increasingly clear that Ian Sharps was responsible for our solid displays in mid season . We may not need another six points this season ,but where is the next point coming from ? let alone six . Personally ,i am seriously concerned at our current plight
