As soon as us and the Germans leave, the whole thing will collapse. Who else s going to prop up Greece and Ireland?

Four days in to the Brexit negotiations and now we're going to war with Spain. Would any of the Billy Britains on here offer an explanation as to what the hell is going on? It all seems a bit extreme for a blue passport and a bent banana.

It's amazing isn't it? Two days after negotiations open and the EU reverts to type of every European land empire from the Holy Roman Empire to the Soviet bloc - trying to get their grubby fingers on their neighbour's land. What's the odds that if Le Pen wins the French elections and moves France away from the EU that Germany will renew their claim to Alsace-Lorraine?
And God help us all if Poland ever wants to leave.

Given that 96% of Gibraltans voted remain, I think it's a bit presumptuous of Howard to start banging the drum about "standing behind our people in Gibraltar" and suchlike.
Scotland looks likely to have a second referendum, Sinn Fein is gaining popularity in Northern Ireland. The government is disenfranchising a lot of people and are they sure they're not doing the same in Gibraltar.
Frankly, I think I'd vote for West Cheshire independence at the moment. Anything to distance myself from the crap going on in Westminster.

Nobody put those words in Michael Howard's mouth, embarrassingly he said them all on his own. No I'm not from London, I'm a Chester lad born and bred, but even from this distance I can see how incompetent the Tories are.

Howard is not a member of the government - just an embarrassment, just like Bliar is to the opposition. It was the ill thought comment of a has been and didn't deserve the prominence that the Bullshit Broadcasting Corporation gave it. It was as worthy of airtime as Bliar's forming an opposition to Brexit. Yesterday's men who don't realise they're old news.

Anything to distance myself from the crap going on in Westminster. I think this analysis is a little flawed. Gibraltarians may have voted 'Remain', but definitely not for any transfer of sovereignty, and it is this position that Howard is defending. The referendum did in fact enfranchise the majority of voters, whose voice had been ignored for years. Support for a second referendum in Scotland is waning, and support for Sinn Fein is more due to the sectarianism of its supporters than any great feeling about pan-Europeanism. And vigorously defending the democratically-expressed wishes and interests of a small country not wishing to be subsumed into a semi-bankrupt state that had a fascist government within living memory can hardly be called 'disenfranchising' them.
