Did anyone on here apply to be an NHS volunteer in the week?
Got a pretty unhelpful email today saying they are unable to verify my identity (passport number and photo seemingly not sufficient) but I "can always apply again". Sounds like they're not that arsed whether I do or not!

Your passport doesn't contain your address. I included the whole page with my name, date of birth, passport number etc. I know they're busy and everything but I've seen my arse a bit. Tried again anyway.

That whole thing is an absolute joke - cut to the bone, demonise and alienate junior doctors, remove student nursing bursaries, demonise and ship out the foreign workers that prop up the health service then appeal for volunteers.

I thought the point of this thread was for people to share their experiences of being in lockdown, but once again it’s ended up in a political argument and no doubt the thread will be shut down soon when it inevitably resorts to a slanging match. Personally I’ve been living in a caravan all weekend. Can’t go home because my family is in lockdown and I’m working on a construction site that’s still working. I daren’t go home in case I’ve caught the virus so I’m stuck 120 miles from home. Although to be fair I now have the cleanest caravan in the world, I’ve managed to de-clutter and I’m working my way through all the tinned food that’s been in my cupboard for months. I’ve also found two packets of pasta that I might put on eBay 😃.

Here we go, same route as every other thread. Just find another forum of a team you don’t support if it bothers you so much?

I know he has a habit of rubbing people the wrong way, but can you not just block him if it's that annoying?
Some people are a bit too touchy about politics being brought up on threads that clearly have political relevance. If they don't then why are we getting a televised briefing from the government every day? As they say, if you don't "do" politics, you don't do much.
The moaning is just as tedious, and that Charlie Whateverhescalled never does anything but take the piss.

It looks like the government will need to make the lockdown even more severe. Many people in the capital still treating it as a bank holiday unfortunately. London is a ticking time bomb hence the reason for NHS Nightingale. Hopefully a miracle happens and it doesn’t lead to Madrid and Bergamo type casualties. It's unfortunately hardly surprising. London is like a biodome full to the brim with a load of boat shoe wearing, giant man-babies all working in 'recruitment' or 'banking' who spend every waking hour thinking about when they're next going to hoover up a line of coke. Also, this interview with a boomer on Radio Solent is absolutely astonishing - worth a listenBloody hell, just listened to a couple of minutes of that. That woman wants isolating all right ~~ in a prison padded cell. What a complete and utter idiot.

I’m juggling working from home with home schooling the eldest and looking after three minions all day. Is alcohol considered “essential shopping”? 😂 On the subject of home schooling, what on earth is phonics all about? Why teach kids that in a language as non-phonetic as English?
I've just spent most of my break trying to come with everyday words with 'er' in where it actually sounds like 'er'. About the best I could do is 'herb' and 'kerb'. My daughter tried to write the word 'phonics' with an 'f' the other day, which highlights its own problem.
Presumably they reach an age where they have be told they can forget about all that now, and here's how you really spell.

As police drones are circling the deserted peaks of Derbyshire in surveillance of people walking for recreation, the police in Ireland are knocking doors to check on the wellbeing of those self-isolating and to offer assistance with errands and deliver shopping to those in need.
Very worrying times for us all in terms of “Big Brother” and an authoritarian regime.

Very worrying times for us all in terms of “Big Brother” and an authoritarian regime. I thought you’d have had more respect for your “fellow” frontline key workers! After the scenes 8 days ago in places like Snowdonia, Peak District,, Cornwall etc the police have needed to show such disregard for other’s health and safety won’t be tolerated. If their so called “big brother” approach saves one life from the infection it will have been worth it. Rural health services in places like Beddgelert, Bakewell etc won’t be able to cope with an outbreak in the community and the more social distancing is observed the less likely such an outbreak would occur. Pretty simple really and makes your quote look rather silly.

Have any of you actually seen the drone footage? It was one person going for a jog in the absolute wilderness. Not the same as tens of “holiday makers” descending on Snowdonia.

So Ireland is another on your list of countries that are so much better than the UK. Surprised you're still here the hatred you show for the place.

In that one sentence you have illustrated why the drones were being used at a National Park. So in essence you've argued against your original statement.

I’d say criticising a government that is deliberately allowing its people to die actually displays a support for my country and it’s inhabitants.

You're clearly not the brightest but even by your standards its a new low. For a self proclaimed "frontline NHS" worker do you share that opinion with your co workers ? Are they wrong, and you right ?
Stick to pen pushing sb.
