He’s doing a televised press conference later.
Thought he was merely an advisor? Quite why an unelected Spad has been given a prime media platform to lie escapes me.
I think he should be in a Durham Police Station talking to them by now.
Clearly he’s definitely the de-facto PM.

Strange isn't it, you don't hear Labour or media complaining about these three individuals breaking the lockdown. Labour MP Steven Kinnock travelled to his parents house for a birthday. Labour MP Tahir Ali attended a funeral along with 100 other mourners, & Welsh Health Minister Vaughan Gething sitting at a picnic table having chips with his family, all during the lockdown. It seems to me Labour & our Media have selective memories.

However, they're also pretty peripheral figures and aren't really pivotal enough to the battle against coronavirus to make their actions newsworthy. Cummings is setting strategies for the ruling government, and then ignoring them, only to be bailed out by a PM who has been lecturing us all on the importance of staying at home for the last nine weeks.

I have to agree with most of the comments regarding Cummings and he should do the right thing or go Boris needs to get a grip and send him packing, 2 of the others may be inconsequential but Health Minister for Wales surely he has to go no good shouting about 1 rule for some and one for others unless all people are treated equally and as for the media the pictures of them outside Cummings house is completely unacceptable these people should be identified and dealt with by the Authorities for completely flouting current regulations

Didn't Matt Hancock say that it was a matter for the police when that professor Ferguson broke lockdown, but then said that Cummings was correct to do so. The whole thing has thing has turned into a circus now, Boris briefing yesterday did even more damage. If he came out and held his hands up saying they cocked up it probably wouldn't be as bad, but to completely dismiss it and say it's fine is a slap in the face for the whole country.

Having now seen that on the face of it, it looks like the action was totally unjustified and certainly needs investigating and the 2 officers suspended until the investigation is completed. If as suggested it is found to be racist or only found to be unjustified then those two should be dismissed and charged with assault. I find it appalling that custodians of the law behave in such a manner considering that the guy was holding his child which in itself surely cannot be interpreted as being a danger to the Officers. There is no place for racism of any kind in this country especially from those in authority PS I dont trawl the papers for anything, in fact, I haven't read one for years

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52797002Research has linked the Cheltenham Festival and Liverpool v Atletico Madrid game to coronavirus hotspots. Let's not forget here, the government wanted games over the March 14-15 weekend to go ahead. There would have been a Merseyside derby on March 16! Credit has to be given to the Premier League and EFL for going against this advice, and to our club for going against our league's advice as well. I said at the time, history will show who got it right, and that pithy "thanks to the clubs who played" statement from the National League looks even more pathetic today than it did at the time.

The PM has spontaneously declared bad eyesight might be a symptom of Covid-19 simply to defend Cummings’ “I drove 30 miles to a beauty spot with my wife and kid in the car on my wife’s birthday just to test my eyesight.”
It’s not included in the World Health Organisation’s list of symptoms.
This is a test people. The government want to see how much of a mug you are. Don’t fall for it again.

Section 96 of the Road Traffic Act (1988) states it is a criminal offence to drive on a road with impaired vision.
As he stated himself, he was unsure if his vision was impaired when he got into his car to drive 30 miles.
Of course we know it’s all a load of utter bollocks, but the more they all say the more tangled they’re all getting in this web of lies.

Absolutely bizarre now. It would be less politically harmful if all of these senior Tory’s just shut down and refused to engage in this story. Why are they going to incredible lengths to craft and maintain this incredible story that everybody knows is utter bollocks? Oh well, at least we still have to pay for our broadband. Can you imagine if our broadband was free? This country would’ve been in a damn sight worse state.

There is speculation (and why not share rumours given that the government is sharing pure lies?) that Cummings reasons for being in Barnard Castle could be something to do with GlaxoSmithKline having a factory there. GSK are part of the vaccine race both here and in the US, and their former head of pharmaceutical research is now part of Trump's COVID task force.
Could be a coincidence of course, but I'm not sure I believe he was stupid enough to just go for a day out with his wife, and the eyesight excuse doesn't even deserve to be credited with a rebuttal.
My suspicion is that neither he nor his wife even had coronavirus symptoms. He's had to make that bit of the story up as a thin excuse for making a 600-mile round trip with ulterior motives.
