To be fair even if the pandemic didn't happen, you'd have thought that any committee that dealt with 'Threats' would be essential during these times of terrorist attacks. Indeed. "Hindsight is wonderful" is no excuse. Would you say that if a building burned down because it had no smoke alarms? If they have to scrap essential teams to "focus on Brexit", then Brexit is inoperable as far as I'm concerned. I still think the government should apologise to the nation for a poorly though out referendum that included a promise they couldn't responsibly deliver. Of course, that would require some degree of courage and humility - two qualities they don't have. If labour hadn't blocked the nations wishes for 3 years then Brexit would be done and this nation would be on the up instead of still having to deal with Brexit

As far as I'm concerned, it is now 100% the Conservative Party's responsibility to deliver Brexit successfully, and whether you voted for it or not, I think everybody should be demanding that of them. If they're had to disband other essential teams to "focus" on Brexit, that already is a failing on their part.

Surprised people are still suckered in by this.

They campaigned in 2017 on a respect the referendum result pledge. All they wanted was a good deal, not a catastrophic no deal exit that would utterly destroy our economy. Tories have had a huge majority for months. You won, get over it.

Labour just tried to mitigate the disaster that Tory Brexshit will undoubtedly be. It’s a familiar refrain though; as soon as things get a bit tricky or require a little political finesse, it’s toys out the pram from the overgrown man-children leading the Tory Party.

I'm sorry but it was 100% the British politicians responsibility to deliver Brexit after the referendum but labour blocked it at every opportunity they really did stick 2 fingers up to democracy hence their annihilation at the first opportunity I'd tend to agree the ones who just repeatedly whined for a second referendum didn't help the situation, but I think a lot were just concerned at the dumb-as-hell "Brexit means Brexit" crap and didn't believe that a 52% vote meant any old deal, or no deal, would do. Plus it should me remembered that many MPs represent constituencies that voted Remain. I would say their main responsibility is to act in the interests of people who elected them, not to uphold the 52% of a ridiculous nationwide vote that should never have happened. Brexit is the Tories' baby. It was their idea to hold a referendum, it was them who couldn't agree on whether we should stay or go, and it was them who did no risk assessment for leaving. Anyone else's role in it is minimal. Anyway, we've already got a 107-page thread on Brexit so maybe we should move on. I'm sorry I brought it up, but sadly it is relevant to the handling of lockdown and the pandemic. I'm long past caring about Remain/Leave, but now I'm more concerned about what has been/is being neglected as a result of the whole Brexit carry-on.

I see Boris Johnson has found that magic money tree again and his VIP RAF jet is going to get a six figure makeover. It’s nice the Tories are remembering the important stuff during this emergency.

Started watching PMQ about half hour ago and prior to BoJo entering the chamber there were three ‘men in grey suits’ chatting at the entrance to the chamber afacing the Speaker. The three were stood chatting with barely 12” of space between each other; they dispersed to the seats and I noticed that one of them sat on Conservatives front bench. Two minutes later the television camera zoomed around the chamber and clearly showed who the main culprit of the three men was. None other than that slimy Tw•t Hancock. Who the f••k is he to preach to us about the importance of the two metre ruling!!!

I find it beautifully ironic that after Hancock used one of the coronavirus briefings to bizarrely and unfairly call upon Premier League footballers to do more, it's taken a footballer to tell them how to do their jobs!

The coronavirus pandemic is a reasonably standardised test of state capacity for different countries. Tory Britain is apparently struggling to build a working phone app that others have now had for months. The definition of a failed state.

According to a report by the Economist Intelligence Unit, only Belgium's response to the pandemic has been worse than ours among developed nations. www.eiu.com/n/quality-of-oecd-countries-response-to-the-pandemic/The report puts us on par with Italy and Spain, but shows some sympathy to those countries because of the speed of its spread, while the UK's poor response is "harder to explain".

We have a 2 metre social distancing rule in this country, whilst the vast majority of European countries have less than 2 metres. We have the largest total number of deaths in Europe.
And people are still calling for the 2 metres to be relaxed to 1 metre.Go figure how many more deaths we would have compared to other countries.

Another day, another Tory liar exposed. This time it’s Matt Hancock (again) and his bullshit about the contact tracing app. Apparently Apple are yet to hear anything from HM Government, despite Matt telling everyone at yesterday’s Covid briefing that he was having discussions with them. I doubt little Matt could even piss straight, much like the man running things, Dominic Cummings.

Google and Apple literally like “we don’t know what he’s talking about.” Thought Dom’s mate was sorting this app out, what’s happened to all the tax-payer cash he was given? Or is it like the time when that small family-run pest control company with assets of £18,000 was awarded an £108million contract to supply the NHS with PPE in April? If the Tories hadn’t been so absolutely rampantly determined to ensure their mates and donors benefitted from Covid-19, thousands of lives could have been saved.

There has been a Covid outbreak at a meat factory in Germany, and authorities have immediately introduced a local lockdown to contain the virus.
The same thing happened at a meat factory here last week, and we didn’t even bother informing the locals with a simple text message.
But then the German government aren’t trying to socially cleanse the population.
