Surely you don't think that this is OK. To move people from one plant to another 50 odd miles away.

Can you confirm if that is just people who have died directly because of the virus or is it the total number of deaths in this country since it started

This number is excess deaths over and above that which would normally be expected for this time of the year.a better picture will be given at the end of the year as most of the deaths are of the elderly or those who have underlying health issues and their life expectancy would have been shorter. So yearly excess may go down.

I have not commented on this topic on here before, but the very fact there are people defending the response by our elected officials to this pandemic, is nothing short of abhorrent and is an insult to the victims who have lost their lives and the families who have had to bury them, all but alone. Shocking.

That link has been taken down by the BBC. Is there any way to get this off your phone? I can't find one.
Are you on iPhone or Android? Alternatively, I think you can just switch Bluetooth off.
Makes you wonder why it was imposed on everybody's phone, whether or not they want it. There's no way to take it off, so the only thing you can do is, as you say, switch Bluetooth off every time you leave home. There HAS to be a reason, other than the virus, why the government wanted this on every mobile in the country!

Is opening the pubs up a cheap way of implementing a track and trace system. With pubs being advised to take details of customers, does this mean that if someone tests positive then everyone in that pub will be phoned and advised to self isolate? I'm working in a town with seven pubs in the town centre, If one person goes on a pub crawl and visits all seven pubs then tests positive does that mean that everyone who went into one of those pubs will be contacted, using the info they've given to the bar staff, and told to self isolate? This could result in the whole of the town being in self isolation in no time at all.

434 Covid deaths announced in the UK in the last 48 hours but the British Elite are welcoming the lifting of lockdown. In fact, they say it is your patriotic duty to get down to the pub for a pint.
Profits before health.

Those figures are bad enough so why use false figures it does nothing for stimulating debate why not just use facts Yes, undoubtedly the numbers will be greater as the Government is actively under-reporting the true death toll. In April, during the peak, some days saw 1400 dead per day and for 22 consecutive days there were over 1000 confirmed Covid19 deaths. The Tories aren’t putting that on their PowerPoint presentations.

Every agency reports the death figures after low weekend figures with. Usual caveats now where have I read or heard. these figures are all lies put out by the government. Wait I have just thought. two people on here report like that.

Let’s revisit these figures in a couple of months time and see what they look like then. Clearly there is an issue with under-reporting as this article explores here

I agree entirely. But what is the point of making it up as Frank does. I've said before the yearly excess death figures will reveal all. As for now we can only take reported deaths everything else is pure speculation.

These are the figures published by U.K. Government and should give an indication as to where the death rate is heading.

Profits before health. To be honest, the idea of going to the pub in the next few weeks doesn't sound much fun at all to me, and seems to defeat the object of what going to the pub is supposed to be about. Relaxation, socialising and bonding replaced by technology and general "rules".
I'll carry on getting pissed at home for the time being, I think.

Surely the figures given out by the BBC. itv. sky and the government on the updates as stated are deaths reported in all settings plus late notification which go back as far as march. God knows why. I understand it is high but every one can see it is coming down. Not as fast as we all would like but definitely down.

And it's coming down largely because of lockdown and social distancing. If that's eased, what's to stop it creeping back up again?

Absolutely nothing. But are you not encouraged by the death rate coming Down. It will only go up when you see unreported Street raves in London with 17 police officers injured and police cars smashed up. Only reported on twitter. We seem to be accepting this kind of behaviour as normal. If people used a bit of common sense life would be so much easier.my daughter had her latest update from Welsh government. She can now meet up with family member at social distance. But you know what she won't because she is frightened to death of catching anything. She is panicking because her husband and 20 year old daughter are going back to work next week and 16 year old son wants to meet his girl friend. They have barely left the house since March.

A bonus for living on this side of the border, the Labour government in Wales are putting the populations health over private profits despite pressure to follow the murderous U.K. government’s regime.

The street rave incident is the second story on the BBC News homepage at the moment. www.bbc.co.uk/newsOf course there are idiots about who aren't helping, but they need clear, science-led advice from the government. And no, I don't find it particularly encouraging that it's slowly coming down. Compared to what some countries have achieved, that's the absolute minimum we should hope for.

Would you prefer to see them going up. Negativity helps nothing. Some countries appear to be doing better some don't. But you can bet your house on the fact that not one of them is being honest with their reporting. I am on the side of, all politicians lie

Is that why they are allowing people to travel over 50miles to work in a contaminated poultry factory in Anglesey
