Yes I was wrong, happy to admit so.Upsanddowns’ population comment was a classic! 9 million people per square mile. Well done Frank I think that's a first

The 19 who were reported as dying yesterday all had underlying causes as well according to NHS England reports. Oh well, as long as they had underlying issues, that’s okay then. Meaning that they could have died for another reason but had covid-19 as well. NHS England has a page which shows deaths because of Corona virus and deaths where it is mentioned on the death certificate but probably not the reason for the death. These figures are added together to give the total death figure.

Going back to the thing about Public Health England reporting deaths differently to other parts of Britain, what's definitely true is that there issues in recording a daily total of coronavirus deaths. Different NHS Trusts record and report them differently, let alone other countries. We're still digesting the figures and it will be some time before we're really able to understand them.
What I find interesting is that when something comes up that might make the figures look a bit better, Matt Hancock calls for an "urgent review". Did he want an urgent review when it came out that care home deaths were not being included in the figures? Anyway, it's not really urgent, is it? People are still dying of this virus, that's the urgency. Leave the number crunching for later.

Randox Laboratories were given a completely untendered £133-million contract to conduct coronavirus tests, which have now been found to be so unreliable that care homes are being told not to use them.
Randox have given the Tories £160,000 isince 2010 and also employ current serving Tory MP Owen Paterson as an “advisor” on a £100,000-a year salary.
The money Randox have thrown at the Tories over the years is less than 0.2% of the value of this untendered coronavirus contract, which just goes to show how cheap it is to buy access to the public purse in our corrupt banana republic.
If you’ve heard the name Randox before it’s probably because they were caught fabricating and manipulating tens of thousands of forensic science results after being given a contract in 2012.
Dozens of people accused of drink driving had their prosecutions overturned because of this evidence tampering, hundreds of already secured convictions were jeopardised, who knows how many guilty people were let free, and one woman was even prevented from having access to her one year old child because the privatised lab reported her blood test was consistent with heavy drinking, when in reality it showed alcohol abstinence.
But even after a cock-up as huge as this, they still get lavished with more multi-million pound contracts that they don't even have to compete for, safe in the knowledge they can completely screw them up too and almost certainly continue winning even more profiteering opportunities, just as long as they carry on drip-feeding a tiny proportion of their profits back into Tory pockets.

Randox won the second biggest contract for testing in the UK, behind only US-firm Hologic, which secured a £151 million deal, hardly untendered, sensationalism again

They didn’t “win” it - they were given it.
So yes, untendered.

According to THIS article Randox were awarded the contract because no other businesses were allowed to bid. Now it transpires that their testing kits are worse than useless, much like this Tory Government.

So yeah I suppose they did "win" the contract then, in much the same way as you can "win" a North Korean election.

Just Google randox untendered contracts and take your pick. Un opposed means nobody else tendered not nobody else was allowed to tender. Are there other companies who should have tendered I don't know. But companies quite often withdraw tenders for numerous reasons also many companies collude to take a cover where by both over price because they don't want the contract but wish to remain on tender lists

Even the Daily Hate Mail wades in with criticism of Randox. Surely these traditional supporters of Adolf Hitler and the British Union of Fascists are of the correct political persuasion for the right wing snowflakes on here.

The guardian in April did an article on Sweden say their approach may work quite a big article. I see you like to quote the Grauniad and read newspaper articles when it suits your agenda, you massive hypocrite.

Nobody has said that there isn't a problem with the kits from Randox they have been found to be unsterile, its just the fact of how they got the contract that is under "discussion". The articles also state that the results are not affected by this issue

It was an online article i put a link up to (that’s how the internet works) and he refused to read it, as it’s from The Guardian, despite him referencing their articles in the past. The nauseating hypocrisy on here is overwhelming.
