It’s criminal that Premier League footballers haven’t moved more quickly to take pay cuts and deferrals. And completely wrong that taxpayers are now being asked to subsidise cleaners, caterers and security guards at these clubs instead.
Symptomatic of our society. They’re not the only ones getting paid millions to play games, while those actually keeping this country on its feet struggle to make ends meet: police, nurses, delivery drivers, utility workers, supermarket workers, teachers, the list is endless.

I see Michael Gove’s excuse that the difficulty in increasing number of Covid19 tests was due to a shortage of the relevant "chemcial reagents" has unraveled pretty quick and once again a Tory Minister has been caught lying to us. Representatives from the U.K. Chemical Industry have said that they haven’t even been approached by the Government to ascertain if there is indeed a shortage (there isn’t) or been asked to increase production. Absolute shambles from a bunch of sociopathic charlatans and when all this is over I really hope there is a reckoning with serious jail time for some of these clowns. The Times, the BBC and others reporting “a world shortage of chemicals” having an impact on testing. As you obviously know better and know there’s chemicals available, can you get on the case and sort it out. Ta.

The only one of those quotes that was aimed at another fellow Deva Chatter was yours. Probably explains it. Can I ask your opinion on a post by IHB earlier this morning. He uses the phrase “death cult members on here”. The words “on here” make it aimed at fellow Deva Chatters. Surely in view of your ruling, this post should be deleted. It’s certainly a horrible and more vicious attack on fellow DCers than say “nasty piece of work”. Come on moderator, any chance of hearing your view on this.

“At each step we have followed the scientific advice” says Matt HanCOCK, no longer self-isolating six days through his seven-day isolation - which itself would be halfway through the WHO’s recommended 14 days.

I see the disaster capitalists like Rees-Mogg are going to make an absolute fortune out of Covid-19, as they did Brexit.

I see the disaster capitalists like Rees-Mogg are going to make an absolute fortune out of Covid-19, as they did Brexit. Aye, I see his company, Somerset Capital Management says investors have a “once in a generation” chance of “super normal returns”. Nothing like a global humanitarian catastrophe to turn a dirty dollar. To think people actually voted for these creatures.

Did anyone on here apply to be an NHS volunteer in the week? Got a pretty unhelpful email today saying they are unable to verify my identity (passport number and photo seemingly not sufficient) but I "can always apply again". Sounds like they're not that arsed whether I do or not! Nope, but I applied to do two weeks free work for a company who are now manufacturing ventilators and didn't get a response but in today's post I got an offer on one of their other products. Good to see the death rate and infection numbers are coming down in Spain and Italy over the past few days. Hopefully this is a trend that happens in all other countries going forward.

Dominic Raab has all the warmth and humanity of a malfunctioning android. He also thought we shared a land border with France.
God help us if he had to run the country for any length of time.

www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/police-slam-group-more-40-18047812It's things like this that make me think the police are getting a bit too officious in their role. What exactly is the problem with people playing music and dancing in their own gardens? I'm not sure smarmy quips on Facebook are a good look for the law enforcement either. Yes, come down hard on idiots having house parties, barbecues or whatever, but the police need to be careful that they're not just being the bad guys here. Community spirit is very important and mental wellbeing should not be underestimated.

Hard to believe now that a game between an Italian and Spanish club took place at a packed stadium just 6-7 weeks ago.
The highlights of the return leg are strange to watch, especially the announcer calling out the scorers' names with the usual Spanish enthusiasm, to an empty stadium.

Seriously, why is YouTube recommending this video to me?
I've never watched any videos by Nigel Farage or anyone from the populist right, let alone ones that could cause deaths if people listen to him.
For YouTube to just fling this crap in front of anyone is so irresponsible it's untrue.

Whether it's to do with lack of reporting, one thing I have noticed during lock down is the reduction in knife crime. It would great if by keeping people off the streets lives have been saved.

IHME Covid-19 projections
Wow. This IHME model expects 66,000 people to die of Covid-19 in the UK by August. Far higher than Spain, France & Italy. There is no comparable number for any country in Europe. And that is only assuming full social distancing throughout May, yet the “stay at home” order and “full travel restrictions” are not being fully implemented because the Government wants to protect the economy over the lives of its people. The government, and Public Health England, have HUGE questions to answer.

Not yet they don't because they are not dead. just someone's expectations I'm sure you will find other experts expectations giving various figures from 15,000 to 250,000.none of them are helpful as they are all guess work.

And that is only assuming full social distancing throughout May, yet the “stay at home” order and “full travel restrictions” are not being fully implemented because the Government wants to protect the economy over the lives of its people. The government, and Public Health England, have HUGE questions to answer. That projection gave a jump from 623 new deaths to 1,258 from April 5 to 6. According to this - www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/uk/ - deaths on April 6 actually went down to 439. They did rise again to 786 yesterday, but that's still not an escalation anything like the projections.
I suppose it's good news that we're only 9 days away from the projected peak, but the next two or three weeks are going to be grim.

I'm not sure how other countries (report is from the University of Washington) can report on other countries infection and death rates. Although I'm sure that everyone in the world does not believe the Secret State of China's figures.
