Population of Wales is 3 million and whilst the vaccine is being rolled out around the world Messrs Drakeford and Gething are still deliberating as to whether candles and colouring books are essential items.  

And yet the COVID death rate in Wales is lower than that of England.

just before the 2 week fire break deaths were about 1500 they are now almost 4000. some areas have been in lock down for weeks with no sign of improvement.

Pretty sure the Welsh government were blocked from sourcing their own vaccines and had to go with Westminster’s allocation.

It kind of needs to, to be fair, to compensate for our high infection rates.

I'm not saying the Welsh should have priority at all. I'm saying it purely from a numbers perspective. There are 56 million people living in England and 3 million living in Wales.

With an intense vaccine programme implemented in both countries Wales should be fully vaccinated more quickly than England purely because of population numbers.  

If Wales are being allocated roughly the same number of vaccines per head of population as the rest of the U.K. why would they be vaccinated more quickly than elsewhere?

just read your link and no where does it say Birmingham will run out of vaccine by Friday, in fact quite the opposite a complete denial that this will happen.

I think the media are missing the point regarding the vaccines. According to the scientists the vaccine gives 6-12 months immunity. Now we are looking at vaccinations at the rate of 2M a week and we have approx 55M people over 16 in the UK. This means that if everyone needs 2 doses then it will take 55 weeks to vaccinate everyone who needs it. Therefore if the vaccine needs to be injected every 12 months then 2M a week is not enough and if it lasts 6 months then we’d have to just vaccinate half the population and hope the others survived.

Also nobody has come up with an answer regarding antibodies and immunity. I mean if the fact that you’d already had COVID meant you had active antibodies that made you immune for a period of say 6 months, then surely anyone who’s had a positive test could go to the back of the queue. This would mean more people who haven’t got the protective antibodies getting the vaccine.

And the 3rd and most important point is. I watched Priti Patel interviewed on breakfast this morning and if she’s been in Tier 4 since December 18th how the fuck did she end up with such razor sharp eyebrows, you’re not telling me she trimmed those herself in the bathroom mirror with the kitchen scissors?

I see germany the country that has handled the pandemic so well had over 1000 deaths yesterday.

No problems getting vaccinated for Stanley Johnson I see. He’s getting his second jab today. Any Tory boys on here lucky enough to jump the queue or is it just the ones wearing the correct old school tie they look after?

No, but somehow the PM’s Dad has managed to get himself to the front of the queue despite him not meeting the requirements to be in the first cohort. We have also vaccinated US citizen Rupert Murdoch and rumours are still flying about that the extended family of Vaccine Minister Nadim Zahawi have all had the jab.
