Not really sure how you misread my post; I was just stating a simple fact about the number of vaccinations. Nothing mentioned about not caring for people. You are championing 1 nation over the others, sorry if I've highlighted your selfishness So what was Upsanddowns doing then?

And the UK is just one nation according to UN definitions. You don't get an English or Welsh passport.

Almost 9 (nine) million vaccine doses administered, 6 (six) hundred thousand in one day. Well done to every one involved it is a fantastic effort, and thanks to borris and matt for financing the Oxford research and placing prepaid orders for the vaccine. Credit were credit is due. just to put the record straight i don't mention the UK, England, Ireland, Scotland, or Wales. Just congratulating everybody who is involved in the vaccination programme.

So Wales Scotland and NI are not nations then I wouldn't like to tell a Scotsman or a Welshman that I wouldn't like to tell certain Scots and Northern Irishmen that they're nations in their own right rather than British. It's a technicality anyway, and not really relevance to the debate.

Just Oaks Blue looking for a ruckus again. But you weren’t congratulating everyone involved in the vaccination effort though were you? You can’t congratulate the Welsh Government for their successful roll out, with vaccines provided by the UK Government, without at least admitting that the UK government has done a good job of the vaccine roll out to Wales and the rest of the UK. I’m not arguing with you, because it’s pointless, but whatever you think of the way the UK Government has handled the epidemic, which I agree has been disastrous in many many ways surely even you must admit that they’ve been ahead of the game when it comes to the vaccine roll out in the UK. I’m not a fan of this government at all, but the pace of the vaccination programme is amazing.

Of course, the difference between this and things like the disastrous Track and Trace system, is that local NHS health boards and hospitals are carrying out the vaccination rollout rather than the likes of Capita and Serco and other Tory donors. So of course we must congratulate the NHS on their incredible efforts of rolling out the vaccinations in record time. Imagine how far we’d go if it was properly funded!

Congratulations to the government for handling the vaccination rollout and the part the NHS continue to play in fighting this virus. A successful collaboration you would have to say. You can go over all the things they've failed on plenty of times but you've gotta be man enough to give credit where its due too.

Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of Boris Johnson’s speech laying out his plan to ignore Covid-19, likening our response to Superman.

Just seen the video of Chris Whitty being verbally abused by some childish individual quoting and spouting a load of rubbish he's read on social media. It reminds of something, maybe it's on this board......

It’s amazing how blasé some of you Toryboys are about the deaths of over 100,000 people. It’s shocking that this country, in general, seems to have normalised it.
I know Ian has posted in the past that the embarrassment of backing the death cult means you all end up doubling down on your views to save face - he’s spot on.

I doubt anybody is blasé about the amount of deaths. But for the life of me I can not understand what repeating the same death cult theory achieves. You will never change that number, nobody will forget, but unless you are looking for a reaction or increasing your already massive post count or maybe even trying to overthrow the government and that is not going to happen.the more you repeat the more people scroll down in my humble opinion.

I think most on here are fed up with you shouting as loud as you can to try and change the minds of everyone who doesn't agree with your political views. Canvass for Labour next time as I have nearly always done and then you might get more respect.

There is a letter in last weeks Standard from a guy in Chester who is asking why the council are not emptying his garden waste for another month and will he get partial refund on his Council tax for this depleted service. Notoriously busy month for gardening is February, nevermind that Council services have been decimated by Covid illness/isolations plus the added inconvenience of having to try and do your job in added PPE whilst maintaining a two metre distance, this guy wants his Winter Pansies removing.

A lot of my friends work in the local Tescos and the stories they tell about how they are treated by customers is horrendous, they are pushed out of the way by people and swore at and abused if some items are out of stock some people are just unbelievably selfish

I walk past a tip regularly during my daily exercise (it's a nicer walk than it sounds) and some of the stick the blokes working there get is ludicrous. You get people turning up five minutes before it shuts and kicking off because the place is at maximum capacity. Why get so wound up about a load of old rubbish? Just take it home and try again another time, it's not the end of the world, is it?
There's a certain type of person who if the tip is closed for two or three weeks, will decide they need to be there at 8am on the day it reopens, joining a queue that goes right down the road. I bet the rubbish they're bringing is stuck that's been knocking around their house for ages and they've never got round to getting rid of it, but once there's a restriction in place they treat it as a must-do. What is it with these people? It's like they have a heightened sense of urgency, but a really panicky and unproductive lifestyle. They're the same people who stand up and muck about in the aisle the second their plane lands, even though they'll have to wait until it stops and the doors are open like everyone else!
