Great to hear these lads are going on the road again. If you ain't seen them yet get along before the crowds get to big at gigs.

Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain is 30 years old tomorrow which makes me feel ancient. A 90's classic.

Steve Albini has died aged 61. If you don't know who he is you've probably heard some of the albums he produced, such as "In Utero" by Nirvana, "Surfer Rosa" by the Pixies and "Rid of Me" by PJ Harvey. Very distinctive sound to his work. In Utero is the best Nirvana album purely because of what he did with it in my opinion. Was also in the noise-rock bands Big Black and Shellac, among others.

After yesterday's result I think we all just need 50 minutes of the Peanuts gang dancing to Joy Division.

Overrated singer/Band probably done before but here goes........Bruce Springsteen. Oasis. Seems they’re finally getting back together. Can’t help but feel as though the Beatles tribute circuit is already pretty saturated, mind. Who are some other bands you’d love to see make a comeback? On the other hand, who are some acts you like but think really ought to call it a day, or should’ve called it a day earlier than they did?

On the other hand, who are some acts you like but think really ought to call it a day, or should’ve called it a day earlier than they did? Oasis should've called it a day after Be Here Now. Definitely Maybe is one of the best albums ever written, Morning Glory had good singles, after that I'm not sure they really did anything anyone remembers.
Surprises me how many young people like them. An exciting band at the time but would've thought it all sounds a bit dated now. Saying that, my nine-year-old daughter's friend from school just came round and was telling me how much she loves Blur, playing songs by them that I'd never even heard.
I'm always curious to know what's considered "dad rock" now. When I was young it was the likes of Status Quo and The Eagles, but that would be more like grandad rock now. Who are the bands blokes in their 40s like but lads in their 20s don't? Foo Fighters, maybe? Chili Peppers' music hasn't aged well I don't think. REM maybe lost their cool factor a bit?

Oasis were called the burnage Beatles as I wasn't a fan of either I much prefer pulp in the britpop era they've had there time oasis I still think it's a publicity stunt give it two dates then they fall out and cancel the tour

I can’t think of many Oasis songs that sound anything like the Beatles. Opening chords of Don't Look Back in Anger/Imagine? The Hey Jude style "na na na" part of All Around the World?
Wasn't just the Beatles they plagiarised to be fair. Off the top of my head, I can think of everyone from T-Rex (Cigarettes & Alcohol), the New Seekers (Shakermaker), Neil Innes (Whatever) and none other than Gary Glitter (Hello).
But to be fair, they did have some great songs, even if they weren't very original. The B-sides during the Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory era are superb. Noel was writing more great songs than he knew what to do with.

I can’t think of many Oasis songs that sound anything like the Beatles. Basically copied many of their songs, and image. Still the1st two albums were good the rest was a crock of shite, It became about them and not the music

Yeah was gonna say All Around The World is a proper ode to the Beatles to be fair. Also my number one Oasis track.

Watching the TOTP reruns on BBC Four last night, currently in peak Euro 96 season, is a reminder that there were a few football songs out, most of them forgotten long before Three Lions.
This god-awful song and video by Simply Red was somehow was made the official song of the tournament.
I quite like these two though.
