Reaction to that interview - wow. Just wow. He's on another planet entirely, this isn't good for anybody. Our dithering board need to do the right thing. They dithered over Burr and they're dithering again. I'm amazed that he was taken aback by the question about his future. There's no minority who want you out Macca, it's everybody. Sharpes carried him through the early months and since then, the results have reflected his limited managerial abilities. This cannot go on. Got it in one! Something's got to give, for goodness sake, somebody make a decision It's been posted elsewhere that we could be turning into a Telford and look what's happened to them!

Mission accomplished my arse! Paid to do more than avoid relegation ! Thought mid table was the target ? Near play offs this season and then made a bugger of it Jon. You have to go.....Steve Burr did so how are you better ?

I like the bloke but I'm afraid he's not a manager. A severance package should be agreed this week as next season will be a travesty with him in charge. Thanks Jon for your hard work but it's time to move on.
Only this team could be that spineless to be three down after 20 minutes. I expected a defeat today but not so pathetically. I'd expected them to sweat blood and deny space for 90 mins.
I bet on Chester to go down at 40/1 and would've made a packet but it's one bet I'm glad to have lost. However, the rationale for the bet was because this squad is dreadful and must be dismantled.

McCarthys post match interviews are a bit like Arsenal Fan TV....you know what you're gonna get but it's strangely entertaining It's telling that his interviews attract almost as much attention as the games themselves!

'Car Crash TV' is the term I think. You don't want to look but can't help yourself. I get no pleasure from seeing a decent man flounder like that. It's like watching some poor sap on Dragons' Den who has spent his life's savings on inventing a teapot with five spouts or something, then getting his dreams crushed by millionaires.

It's almost as if he's created some sort of little world for himself and we fans are irrelevant in that world. I dare say there will be some fans who see it as job done, let's have a nice summer and then get some more grounds ticked off. But the majority of us have had enough. How can we have faith in this man? It truly feels likes he's lost the plot.

I see the whole session unfortunately. This post was a response to the poster who said I only watch 10 minute warm down at gym. They don't do a warm down as that would require a warm up.

Any chance Big Si can set up a new fans club, call it City Fans United or CFU for short. Get some directors in who know how to run a professional football club, preferably without any personal reasons for leaving within 6 months and with big collones to make the right decisions for the club. I'm sure it would be another huge success!!

Sam Hughes is player of the season but it's an embarassment to have an awards evening given the dross served up for the last 4 months.

Even odder that someone at the club thought the ideal time to flog some tickets for it was when we were getting spanked 0-3 today. Was anyone going to get that email and have their arm twisted, really?! Who on earth pressed send on that email for goodness sake!

Still trying to make sense of what I witnessed today. Looked like a carbon copy of Maidstone. I actually came away feeling sorry for the players because they didn't seem to know what they were meant to be doing. We started off playing three at the back but that was ripped up after we went 2-0 down in no time. Thought I was watching a pre season friendly, with Sutton scoring when they felt like it. I can't really be bothered trying to analyse the rest of the game - we were truly awful. The two late goals put a gloss on it but shouldn't mask what was a terrible display. Regretably, I do think the manager's position is untenable. Not just the dreadful run since Christmas but his interviews in which he appears to be in some sort of denial. The big question is what can be done....the long contract has left us in a mess unless some sort of agreement can be reached. For sure we need to get a new assistant in. Not sure how you sell season tickets or try to market the club on the back of the form since Christmas. I've seen two of the wins, at Bromley and Torquay, and were were poor in both. I do believe we have some decent players but they've lost their way and you could see at the end that they were bewildered. Jon is a decent guy and I wish it had worked out but I just don't see any way forwards now with him. I believe he has lost the confidence of the majority of the fans, not just the planks on here who start a new thread every time they want to sound off. I don't think many clubs would tolerate the sort of run we have endured at home. It's amazing the crowds have held up at all. Final word, fair play to George, Shaw and Durrell for coming over to the fans at the end to shake hand. That took balls.

If I'd travelled all that way and spent all that money then the last thing I would want is a handshake off George straight after a 2-5 stonking in a crucial game. Where were their bollocks during the game?

Where were their bollocks during the game? This sums up the problem, there are still a group of fans, mostly those who seem to revel in thinking some of these lot are personal friends, who can't distance themselves enough to see the situation for what it is. As long as JM and the players are shaking their hands and stopping for a quick chat, they can do no wrong. I fear that is how members of the board see it as well.

The Mccarthy post Sharps period draws parallels to when Malcolm Thomson left as assistant to go to Caley Thistle under Bobby Williamson's stewardship as Chester Manager. This was probably the high point position wise during the Vaughan era. The downturn in form seemed to be immediate and Bobby Williamson paid the price. As previously stated, we are OK this year, but generally teams ending a season on awful runs have been known to carry it into the new season. Hopefully there will be like this season, four teams more awful than us...

Look, I don't really give a f whether or not they came across to the fans. It was a line at the end of an attempt to give some sort of analysis and I actually thought it showed a bit of class to acknowledge the fans rather than just slinking off. The team was awful today and I said that, along with stating that I think McCarhy has lost the plot. You took it out of context, making it look like I'm some sort of apologist.
