500 is puzzling as you say. Surely the game is a great opportunity to fill the stadium as much as possible? Give them the South stand and some of the West if they want it.

Yeah get the South Stand open, infact give them the West too. Make it a proper game for once

Here we go. This is where people make out Scunthorpe are a bigger club than they are.
They didnât even sell out last year brought 360 and had 400 odd tickets. Took 400 to Chorley etc
In any case why would we want them to have an advantage and give them more tickets? 500 is plenty anyway. Fuck them.
We will have 2,500 in and their 500 if they even sell out.

Following last season's issues with the SAG, What is the ground's updated official capacity?

Following last season's issues with the SAG, What is the ground's updated official capacity? Probably about 3,600.

Yes let's give half the ground to Scunthorpe, sounds like a great idea - Link
Combine that with our recent issues which thankfully seem to be on the mend.
Getting some momentum with a run going, encouraging more of our own supporters down and beating Scunthorpe is a bigger priority to me then scraping a few extra hundred quid from them in a one off game.
Think long term.

I just don't see where these hoards of Scunny fans are coming from, they take about 500 away from home. Why is that suddenly going to swell to 1500 because they're playing us?

Itâs the biggest myth going. They certainly wouldnât sell 1,500. Like I said earlier, they couldnât even sell out last season with 400 tickets.

I do agree, can't see them bringing more than 500 which should be ample in half of the West Stand up to the halfway line.
Pretty sure we gave that to Buxton on the final day of the season a couple of season ago - was impressed with their 400-odd following that day.

My original post wasn't really debating how many they get, just that the open sale refers to a 'remaining allocation' of 500 after the ST holders. I agree be nice to see us sell as many as possible.

Ah yes, it looks like that has been missed in the discussion. I take from that statement that they could've been given anywhere from 800-1000? Possibly more?

' The Iron have been allocated 500 tickets for the match, with the club's season ticket holders given priority over sales until Thursday, September 26th at 10am'.

Non-issue really. If they sell out their 500 then thereâs a discussion to be had, until then đ¤ˇââď¸

Be nice to see our club pushing this game on social media, Dee radio etc as one not to miss. Put out alerts on areas of the ground starting to sell out etc and try to create a demand. Get the South Stand open with our fans in it. Maybe a local clubs day?

If they are still top they will bring more than 500 i am sure.
South stand was open for home fans last season for that game

I think that may just be poorly worded. I read it as a 500 allocation in total, open to ST first, with the remainder then on general sale.

Get the South Stand open with our fans in it. Maybe a local clubs day? This - Iâm very open as you know mate in that we as a club and fan base need to do more to sell the club to our floating and new fans. Thereâs so much more we can all be doing - social media plays a key part in that and increasing demand through communicating % of ground sold is the easiest of many of them options by the club. As fans/owners we then need to be sharing this on our own social media platforms to reach floating/new support who wouldnât be looking at the original post by the club/it wouldnât show on that floating/new fans social media algorithm initially. Thatâs one simple and free advertisement of what is the biggest game of the season in terms of club sizes and football league history. Until we exhaust all avenues on selling to our own, we shouldnât be offering more tickets to away clubs - no matter who they are.

Exactly, create a demand for tickets and they should soon start selling themselves, kind of like Oasis, but on a smaller scale.

So, given south stand will accommodate around 600 and west stand 500, with a ground capacity said to be only 3600 this will mean home fans would get barely 2400 tickets for the biggest home game of the season. How will this encourage greater numbers of Chester fans to the ground ?

Thatâs about the most we need, letâs be honest here. âGreater numbersâ will come down when we get a big FA Cup tie or play a playoff semi-final, as has always been the case.
