So, given south stand will accommodate 600 and west stand 500, with a ground capacity said to be only 3600 this will mean home fans would get barely 2400 tickets for the biggest home game of the season. How will this encourage greater numbers of Chester fans to the ground ? Thatâs about the most we need, letâs be honest here. âGreater numbersâ will come down when we get a big FA Cup tie or play a playoff semi-final, as has always been the case. It could end up being enough, but you can't put low ceilings on yourself like that in my opinion. It's loser mentality. I'd hate the thought that even just one potential new fan missed out and then thought sod it afterwards because we prioritised a couple of extra quid from an away club in a one off game.

A high proportion of fan base are incredibly apathetic that rather than look at solutions, theyâd prefer to just be content with what we have rather than what we could have or achieve. Everyone of our core fans knows another fan who maybe deemed a floating fan. Drag them along, maybe even buy them a ticket if youâre able to!

Not half the ground but what we have always done, going back to the Football League days too, is extend the end block in the West Stand to the halfway line for any expected large followings (on top of providing the South Stand which obviously used to be a terrace so away fans had the option to stand or sit). That's one and a half stands out of four, which is not too extensive IMO. So, given south stand will accommodate around 600 and west stand 500, with a ground capacity said to be only 3600 this will mean home fans would get barely 2400 tickets for the biggest home game of the season. How will this encourage greater numbers of Chester fans to the ground ? Capacity is something like 4300 at the minute, our average is around 2200, if we win our next couple of games we'll get the glory hunters out so probably around 2500-3000 Chester fans so that'll leave 800 or so empty seats, if Scunthorpe sell the 500 it would be stupid not to give them anymore.

Big game this. If they beat us can see them running away with it. Give them what they want, behind the goal if needs be.

1 home league, 3rd qualifying round and potentially a 4th qualifying round game (instead of away league game) between now and Scunthorpe at home.
Currently 1st v 2nd in the league. Advertise it as such and as soon as possible, increasing demand through % of ground sold posts every few days.
Perfect opportunity to get bums on seats now.
If there is interest, Iâll ask the Waggon to open earlier than usual for Chester fans similarly to the play off game.

These so called floating fans are the ones we need to attract if attendances are to grow. Naturally, big games and winning teams get bigger gates. Doh! Don't get the bitterness towards these fans. You could say the same about fans who don't do away games, or just the big ones. Imo it's also about making ticketing easy, sorting out catering, queues for a beer, choice of beer, getting in and out of the stadium. Have we got a proper temporary bar selling cans only yet? Sometimes I think we forget we are in the entertainment business, not just a club run for a hardcore of supporters who will endure pretty much anything. Sorting out the M25 would also be appreciated by a few of usđ

We should all be promoting this game and getting a couple of mates or family who donât normally attend to go. Giving a larger allocation to away fans is a cop out.

We should be doing this all the time. Any home games I can get to I drag at least 2/3/4 others along with me. Appreciate that may be easier said than done.

Definitely should be doing it more as a fan base. I mentioned earlier in the thread about sharing social media posts to help engage floating fans/new fans. Whilst the clubs not officially put anything up yet, I tested the water last night with a link to the tickets on an X post. Nearly 3000 views, numerous interactions and reposts etc. This is with a fairly small following but the reach is then multiplied significantly. So if we then think Chester FC social media following is in excess of 80,000, by a large volume of fans sharing - that reach is incredible; especially if it puts demands on how many tickets have been sold/still available. It takes one click of a button to share but ultimately starts with our media team.

Itâs down to us as co owners of Chester FC to publicise ( big) games to help swell attendances and funds. As mentioned earlier in this thread if we all share to our Facebook/ Twitter/ Instagram accounts ⌠it reaches tens of thousands of people. COYB đ

I agree we need to advertise our home games and it should be all our home games. Don't get this thing about Scunthorpe. Another team in our division. So do we have only one home game this season. Did anyone promote our game against Tamworth last season as a 'big game'. Don't forget it could be a boring 0-0 and a damp squid of a game. But it will be exciting.

It has to start somewhere and what better way than the two biggest clubs in the league occupying the top two places? I think we can all agree that we should promote every game but apathy is not required when people are trying.

Many fans are floating fans, or those with a curious interest. It's no different with my local team Wimborne. I'm not a fan. But if they've got a big local derby like Poole Town, or like last year, their cup game against Torquay, then I'll go. So it is worth word being put around when there's the sort of game that might pique the casual's interest.

It's one of Chester's biggest games of the season, so we should be letting people of the city know about it to attract the casual supporter.

Everybody who shows any interest will be there, people say the City doesn't know it has a football club time and time again, the fact is they do and they just don't care.

Looks like United are at home and Everton are away with City and Liverpool playing at other times so our match could attract more casual fans of footy than normal, if they get to hear about it. I'm likely to be bringing two Liverpool fans along, they've been to a fair few matches now. Yes the club can push it but we're the best advocates of getting others down.
