They’ll no doubt park the bus (or should do if they have any sense at all).
Consequently, we’ll struggle to break them down.
Be optimistic and say we’ll nick a goal. Unless some changes are made to our shooting boots or formation/line up in which case it’ll be more 2/3-0.
And break the scoreboard hoodoo.

They've lost 0-1 0-1 0-2 in their last 3 away league games. So it's hardly likely they will employ an expansive attacking style of play.
Chester 1 - 0 Buxton and 1888 there to see Burke head in the winner.

Need to be beating these really, think a few changes are needed to freshen things up and rest a few before Curzon.
Any idea if it's being streamed tonight ?

It’s a must-win tonight for me. We’re playing a Buxton side who have lost seven out of their last eight games, and we have two rock hard matches after this, so nothing other than three points really won’t be good enough. The goals have dried up for us of late, as we haven’t found the net from open play in our last six games, which is a bit worrying, while our last two home games have been stalemates. If you put the shocker at Scarborough to one side, defensively we’re fine (you can tell just how big a miss Nathan Woodthorpe and Connell Rawlinson were in that tie in North Yorkshire), but we just need to be more ruthless up top.
Our last league game was last Saturday, as we recorded a 0-0 draw at home to Scunthorpe United. We were more than a match for the league leaders, as both defences cancelled each other out. However, it was still frustrating we couldn’t win, because we squandered some fantastic opportunities. Tom Peers had to bury that chance he had before half-time. On the plus side, we notched up our sixth successive home clean sheet, which is a sensational feat. Let’s hope it’s another one tonight, while we can find the net at the other end to finally get our scoreboard up and running.
In the meantime, a very youthful Seals side travelled to Alsager last night, in the First Round of the Cheshire Senior Cup. They won 2-3 on penalties after the tie finished 1-1 at 90 minutes. Those lads should be here proud of themselves, because they shaded the game, plus they grafted tirelessly throughout against a tough and physical Alsager Town outfit. Luca Boon thought he won us the tie on 81 minutes, as a terrific looping header sailed into the far corner. However, with four minutes to go the hosts equalised, by smashing in from close range to take the encounter to penalties. Having missed our first two penalties, and as Alsager scored their first two, the tables turned, as Cam Mason saved three spot kicks in a row, then went on to score the winner to become the star of the show. I’m made up for the lad, although I still can’t see him starting in the league anytime soon.
Buxton have made a disappointing start to the season, as they find themselves in 19th. It’s their first campaign operating as a full-time club, which makes their lowly position all the more surprising. The Bucks initially began the season in strong fashion - winning their first three fixtures, but as mentioned at the beginning of my post, they’ve slumped down the ladder - losing seven of their last eight games, with the Derbyshire outfit still yet to draw a game. Former Seal Kieran Burton will be returning to the Deva this evening, as he joined Buxton in the Summer after leaving Hartlepool United. Kieran did a solid job for us, albeit being a bit clumsy when making tackles at times, but I wouldn’t have minded him joining us on a permanent basis. I met him after the Darlington game on the final day of last season, and he told me that he would’ve loved to stay, but due to him living in Leeds it would’ve been a fair commute for him.
As said, with Curzon Ashton and Hereford FC on the horizon, it’s vital we win this evening, ahead of a very busy November. The atmosphere last Saturday was incredible, as we never stopped singing, so let’s recreate that again later. Would be nice to see a couple of goals as well, otherwise I fear our new scoreboard really is becoming a curse 🙈.
Score - Chester FC (Weeks, Burke, Mottley-Henry) 3-0 Broxton.
Attendance - 2,015 (55 making the 11-mile journey from Broxton).

Most people know Buxton for its water, let alone a football team. Get me out this league.

Get me out this league. Which if right begs the question where have 900 Chester 'fans' vanished to since Saturday?? A fair few tend to only turn out for arguably the bigger games. If some only go to a few games a season & they see a 0-0 it might not encourage them to come back for the next one, especially against such a small club like Buxton.

As I said after Scunthorpe game we of late get so far then disappoint over and over again Win needed to cement our current top 7 spot I will go 2-0 as we are not prolific Excellent informative summary RIO much appreciated realiy helpful for exiles such as I and many others

This really is a must-win game. We need a change in team selection and formation. This has been discussed at length, but primarily Kurt playing centrally and one of Weeks and Glendon rested. However I don't see Cal doing any of this and Buxton WILL park the bus, so its also very important that we don't concede a sloppy early goal.

Sloppy goal I think we conceded last season against these on half time if I remember? Think Burkey should have knocked it out for a throw, didn't and they broke and scored. Think we know what type of game tonight's will be, an early goal is a must for us to change the game and Buxtons tactics.
