The official Chester FC Twitter feed have retweeted Hannah and White who both said along the lines of it not being a great performance, yet Chester FC TV said "a great point" - what's the official party line? It's like the right hand isn't talking to the left! Get a grip mate. I'd much rather the players being honest and owning up (White even saying he knows himself he wasn't good enough on that day) than players agreeing with everything the club/manager says.

I enjoyed your posts Dodge and Oaks Blue. You absolutely do need a sense of humour to last the distance. Last October was a good month for me. I thought we were played off the park by Dover in the first half. To be level at half time was incredible. To come out and score five in the second half was fabulous. Four weeks later we were deservedly leading against a good Lincoln side after 45 minutes only for a very poor referee awarding a dodgy free kick, and then allowing play to continue beyond added time to allow a Lincoln attack to conclude, resulting in an equaliser. We attacked the game second half, lost another couple of quick goals unfortunately, and ran out losing 2-5. Great game which I really enjoyed despite the result. We played lovely football all match, stayed positive, and lost because of a poor refereeing decision which turned the game. I can take that, but I can't take the negative boredom for much longer. Nothing changed over the years Bing, only the last eight months.

Decided to leave it a few days before posting due to being pretty annoyed at the time. Nothing's changed...
JM will get a more games, he won't change anything and he'll lose his job. He's not balance the squad at all. Mahon's supposed to be our best winger but doesn't look at it, hoping that's just a fitness issue but I'm not so sure anymore. Chappell has looked decent in his two cameos to be fair to him, but as we know he's not the answer - and JM must agree as he's starting Dawson on the wing - who is clearly not a winger.
As others have said, I think JM just went after some good players and hoped a good team would be made. Clearly, not that simple. There's no visible plan or tactic, bar smash it long and hope for the best.
I hope for John and the club that they can turn it around, he's a nice bloke and clearly cares a lot for the club. However, it hasn't just been two games this has been going on for nearly a year now.

Nothing changed over the years Bing, only the last eight months. I agree with a lot of what you say, the mentality of the team makes a massive difference and I've never come away from a game where we lost by 3 goals as happy as I did after the Lincoln game, it was entertaining and those sort of games keep people interested regardless of the result. But in the same part of the season, we had the Guiseley home game where we completely sat off from the worst team in the league for the first half and let them dominate possession, eventually winning 2-0. We also had the Braintree and Torquay home games where we got early goals and ground out ugly results. My point is that there are some on here who expect the Lincoln/Dover level of entertainment on a weekly basis, and there are some that seem to defend McCarthy at every opportunity and are happy to watch the same old dross we've suffered since January. I find myself somewhere in the middle, where I do want to be entertained, but I'm happy to watch terrible football as long as we're winning games i.e the aforementioned September/October results. The problem at the moment is, we're not being entertained (although I thought the Fylde game was a good game) and we're not getting the results we need. Hopefully that will change for McCarthy before it's too late.

I think Dodge gave a pretty well considered reply there, certainly not deserving of this OTT response. Although everyone strives to be entertained, it's definitely true that some people have become embittered over the years. Engage your sense of humour before responding next time. Jesus Apologies if I misread where you were coming from with that response.

Jesus To be fair Oaks Blue, it's not always easy to tell when you're being humorous and when you're just being brutally sarcastic!

Brutal sarcasm is usually my preferred communication message. Maybe I'll introduce emoticons so everyone is aligned
