He's got to go surely the board must of said something to him ? I was generally surprised he never got the boot this morning. Unless he pulls a rabbit out the hat and gets a win at Aldershot and finally a home win against Macclesfield he has to go surely for the good of the club Jesus wept

Whoops - wrong east mids club, I meant Chesterfield and Mr Barrow ! I wouldn't mind either. Steve Evans would give the players a good rollicking if anything went wrong. Regardless of the rights and wrongs of appointing him, no way would Evans quit managing a side trying to gain promotion from League 2 to come to Chester. Plus I very much doubt we could afford his wages or compensation.

I'd favour a cheeky approach for Guardiola. Would be a real boost for his cv if he could turn us round.

Paul Cox is out of a job just been sacked by Barrow Resigned not sacked. Several Barrow fans arrested for indecent exposure, as they totally misread the signals when a plane flying a 'cox out' banner was seen at the last home game !!!

I'd give JM until Xmas as given this thread there aren't many alternatives at the start of a season. And why employ someone who has just been sacked as not good enough even with money ? He's got the message and remember a relatively new manager. Remember Fergie at United ? What if he'd been sacked ? JM not a Fergie I know but rationale is the same.

Coz resigned, barrow yank chairman Carson has tightened the purse strings was promised signings in the summer and hasn't happened. Excellent manager at this level.

I hope mark maguire is reading this! Funny that McCarthy's tactics are being rubbished and yet people are calling for Paul Cox, whose cheating and gamesmanship was condemned on here after the Barrow home game. Is that really the route we want to go, should the current manager leave? No thanks from me.

Bignot joins Barrow. Cox has just been announced at Guiseley.
Two good options gone. We need to get rid whilst there are still competent options out there, as otherwise it'll be an underwhelming appointment.
Imo the best two are now gone.

As I said on another thread, Danny Wilson is available. Might be able to do a job at this level, though never stepped into non-league to my knowledge.

Andy Morrell would be my first choice out of the names mentioned so far. Couldn't care less about his past.
Not sure if he would consider us with his ties to Wrexham, and obviously compensation to consider, but he has a fantastic record and can get a team playing.

Andy Holden Flint Town Utd, Chester legend, great coach, loads of connections. Affordable and previously a fans favourite. Had spells at Everton, Hibs and Rotherham. That would be my preference.

Garry Hill would do for me.
Graham Barrow would be a popular one, but I'm not sure how much he's kept in touch with this division?
After that, what about Andy Hessenthaler? He's assistant at Eastleigh but relocation could be an issue. I'd take Kevin Wilkin, I think he was harshly dealt with at Wrexham.
I think Brabin would be in the frame, not sure I'd be too keen though.

Ugh.
Graham Barrow. What is it with that guy? Obsessed.
One guy for the job isn't there.
The only guy to win a division in Chester Oldco's history.
The serial shagger.
The defensive mastermind.
World Cup playing experience.
The ginger one.
The absolute top lad.
MW.
In reality will end up with Shaw. Rinse and repeat.

Mark Yates is available as well I believe. Didn't work out at Crawley but solid otherwise at Cheltenham and Kiddy?

Andy Holden; believe me absolute legend and great coach, affordable, big presence, he will take no prisoners and play proper football. For those who remember him as a player he was a winner..,

As I have previously mentioned if we could get him I'd like Garry Hill. Always told it like it is in his post match interviews. Lots of experience in this league. Track record of doing well with a low budget at woking. Only thing is would he want to come and I guess his connections are mainly south east based?

Paul Cox name Names Guisley Manager ffs now that's a coup As I thought. If Paul Cox had a whiff of a chance of joining Chester I doubt he would have accepted Guiseley. In other words there is no behind the scenes sounding out of a potential replacement. If we win another game the board will probably rename a stand as The Saint McCarthy Stand.
