How about Chester resident Nick Knowles?. Does well organising a team to sort those houses out on his TV programme. At the moment the roof is falling in at the club. Give him the gig!

At least you know Brabin would kick some ass in that dressing room. Where's the fight gone?

Holden does seem a realistic shout and has a good pedigree. If he was offered the position until the end of the season, I couldn't see there being many complaints.

Didn't know much about Andy Holden (I'm under 40) but his coaching record sounds top notch.
Part of the Everton coaching staff through a few managerial changes. Presumably good friends with Alan Stubbs, as he was his assistant at Hibs and then Rotherham last season. Knows the WPL, the area and has good contacts throughout the game it would seem. Hopefully he's a shouter, no more nicey nice managers. Macca and Burr both good honest blokes, we need someone ruthless.
Sharps could work out but not a chance he's leaving Walsall to come back here. Bignot did well to unearth Bogle and a few others, decent connections in the game with having retired from playing fairly recently

Anyone think Neil Young should be asked if he would like to come in as caretaker manager, whilst we recruit a new one?

He was solid as a rock in central defence when I used to see him at Sealand Road. International experience with Wales too.

Whoever it is can't be offered more than a year long contract, we can't afford to keep shelling out on big pay offs.

Said it before, so I'll say it again.
Only one man out there for me who understands what the club is about, was a massive part of our history, at Sealand Road, Moss Rose, and the Deva, player, assistant, and manager twice, is a very well respected man in the game, coach and manager who could give us a figurehead to all rally behind.
Get on the phone and sound out Graham Barrow for a return.

i think we should give tom shaw a go until at least christmas, he knows the players, knows how they train and how they tick.
the worst thing we could do now is unsettle the team bringing in new training methods

Andy Morrell Kevin Wilkin Marcus Bignot
All experienced in this league and all have very good records at this level. Certainly worth sounding out.

I cannot believe the board are just today commencing a search for a new manager. That's the second worst thing they could be doing. There should be a new man virtually ready to step in straight away...basic forward planning, surely? ...and the worst thing? Surely even this board couldn't possibly be considering yet another cheapskate appointment by delaying a real manager's appointment in the hope they can slip in with Tom Shaw as the cheap option.

There should be a new man virtually ready to step in straight away...basic forward planning, surely? Disagree. It would be very unusual to sack a manager and replace him straightaway. How often do you see clubs do that? There's almost always a period of searching for a replacement in between. There needs to be an interview process etc before anyone can be appointed, and you can't start interviewing candidates before you've even sacked your existing manager.

I'm sure they may already have one or two names in mind. They have advertised the post almost instantaneously with JM,s departure.!i get your point but not sure what else they could have done that wouldn't of been slightly underhand. It's taken it's time but they need to be given credit for today's action. Although truthfully perhaps action should have been taken at the end of April with hindsight. Any way we move forward let's hope the next manager brings about a more successful tenure.

The time period indicated in which the Club "hope " to appoint a new manager does however look a little on he long side (before Maidenhead home game) . Although highly unlikely, surely a Tom Shaw led management team is not being allowed three or four games to prove itself ?

Very regular having someone in mind, virtually lined up, prior to the departure of a manager. Take Marco Silva at Watford, resigning from Hull and walking straight into Watford. How long did Man United have Jose Mourinho lined up?
