Very slow to get back in but managed it. Not convinced of his shape. WTF was Burton doing trying to clear that? Unable to use his left foot by the look of that. Poor that. Glad it wasn't just me who said about this. Trying to play some lovely outside of the foot ball like Iniesta. Just get the fucker out the danger area for fuck sake. Especially in the frantic situation he found himself in with Shents tackling their player and then making a big save. Again suggest a lack of match sharpness. Especially for Burton on what was his first start of the season (I think?).

Only Scott will give the real answer to that but probably a bit of both.

Just noticed that Blyth despite beating us 8-1 are just above us on goal difference with 4 points and a goal difference of - 2. They sound like a very poor team.

It was a feature of last season that we would make two or three mistakes in the lead up to a goal. Looks like that's gone up to four or five. That first goal is a shambles. Long way from being competitive on the evidence of that.

Okay, Telford are currently up near the top but were no great shakes and Blyth look a poor side based on results so far (apart from the 8-1 against us.) What are we going to look like when we play Chorley, Kidderminster, Hereford? We have to at least be hard to beat - that has to be a bare minimum at this stage. Telford looked like they could score at will each time they attacked us.

I suspect Aldershot felt like we did when we unexpectedly put 8 past them in a season when we were (again) awful.
I am probably going to be in the minority here but the behaviour of some of the fans after the Telford game was despicable. My 11 year old (a ST holder for 5 years) asked me why anyone thought that being on the receiving end of that kind of abuse would make the players play better instead of saying “screw this”. Isn’t that the point? Yes the team were awful (and yes we were at Halifax and Kiddy last season so have a good benchmark) but we need to get the balance right and we haven’t now. We are a handful of games into the season for God’s sake. I’m equally worried about some players, formation, strategy (and if i can spot it it must be obvious) but none of this warrants the behaviour some displayed.
Give them 10 games and the best chance to succeed by getting behind them and applauding the good (little of it that there may be) with as much effort as condemning the bad. And then let’s make our decision. What’s the point in hurling abuse, demoralising them and then increasing the chance of them failing in those 10 games. Isn’t that cutting your nose off to spite your face? Don’t we all want to see an improvement? Don’t we want them to play for the fans, the shirt, the club - if so, then give them a reason to do so - not the complete opposite.

I hope I am wrong but the likes of Pritchard and Howson are not of the standard required for this league. The defence looks a shambles and a left back is required asap.
