Same money mate, just increased expectations. Nice one. So MB really is throwing down the gauntlet to see who really give's a shat? Does look that way, he doesn't care much about what people think of him that's for sure. Some of these lads owe our club for the way they've performed. I wonder how this fits in with Mahons other role coaching, that could be someone we see go which worries me given the current wide options. Hope I'm wrong!

I'm trying to find a positive so here goes - LRT was NOT as bad as the rest of them. Really? For me is was slow, lacked any kind of mobility and was given the runaround by their winger. I'm not saying he was any worse than the others but his performance was still nowhere near good enough.

I think MB's post match interview was the one positive from the game, and in particular the way he answered the last question.

This is 100% more than 1 player and infinitely more than the remaining 9.

The Jon McCarthy big STINK will take a long while to get over. He over stayed his welcome by at least 5 months. The board and the rest of the idiots that gave him a two year deal are to thank. Macca then spending all the budget on this unbalanced poor squad we are in the shit. We have a mix bag of 3-4 decent players, 3-4 struggling but that are capable, the rest are either not good enough or stealing a wage. Absolutely spot on. The board have damaged this club more than they're willing to own up to. The two year contract I can forgive - it was done with good intentions and seemed fair enough at the time. Keeping him on over the summer though, letting him spend the budget and giving him eight games waiting for things to "click" - that was foolish and might cost us. It seemed to be done more in the interests of delaying an unpleasant decision rather than any real faith that things would improve.

Just watched that and I believe that the situation is even worse than he could have imagined with players treating this club as just a bit of easy extra money.

That interview has cheered me up after another early exit from the Cup. Some of these lazy chancers who describe themselves as professional footballers need a real kick up the backside. Hopefully a lot get peeved with having to do some work and go.

I think we have somehow assembled a collection of players (and I'm not talking about all of them) who don't want to play for anybody: not themselves, not the fans, not the manager.
Most people can't just turn up for work and decide they can't be bothered, and the money the fans are spending to watch these players 'work' will be hard-earned.
Well done to MB for throwing down the gauntlet.
He's got to decimate the squad and force one or two non performers out every couple of weeks.

Is an extra days training each week really going to change things? I hope I am wrong but that performance seemed more about attitude than ability. How those players performed today like that beggars belief. It’s our most important game of the season so far (if we are going to get some ££s in to start fixing things) certainly more important than the Tranmere game, but their effort compared to Tranmere was embarrassing. Like others I feel robbed by that team today. I don’t see how extra training fixes anything. These players need to be proud of the club and play for the shirt. The only one who does this consistently is Ryan Astles. If they don’t give a toss extra training won’t fix that. Let’s hope MB can beg borrow and steal some fresh blood as he said in his interview because otherwise he’s going to have to be some kind of alchemist to turn this lot into football players.

That was truly pathetic today. Rarely have I been ashamed of my team but that was woeful and the players really should be ashamed of themselves. No blame for the keeper. I don't get some of the LRT love in after that. Completely caught ball watching for the first and possibly second goal. My nan can pass better than halls. McCombe is giving SVJ a run for his money as the wankest skipper ever. Astles was his normal self, heading and kicking everything but for the love of God lose the moobs Man and get fit. Waters has probably pissed his chester career away with that first 45 minutes. What on earth has happened to James? Turnbull made me so mad today. Cruising. Hiding. Doing the bare minimum. Do me a favour and just fuck off back to barrow. Dawson was poor but never hid and always looked to get on the ball. Akintude doesn't look fit. And white just run around doing nothing of any note. Subs, chapel was as poor as can be expected and kept glaring at the fans for some reason. The loan lad ran around ala White. Sorry for the bad language but that was a disgrace today and I'd happily go to training on Monday and tell them to their faces.

That shocked me today. I was stood there thinking what the hell is going on. Not one player comes out of that with any credit whatsover, absolutely pathetic.
A couple of observations. Andy Halls is a joke. If someone gives their all but is a bad player then I can accept it and would blame the management for signing them. But he couldn't give a shite and his attitude stinks. He's the only right back at the club and he knows it and he just takes the piss out of us fans who pay his wages. Says it all when our fans were chanting off off off for the foul that got him booked. James and Akintunde are wasted out wide. But the horribly unbalanced squad means they have drawn the short straw. James is a quality player, but I reckon he played in 4 positions today - CM, RM, LM and I'm sure at one stage he was up front while Akintunde was in midfield? His confidence is taking a pounding.
Nothing even remotely good about that, we are in serious trouble this season. It was worse than anything under McCarthy and that's saying something. A massive clear out is needed but can we really do that mid season? I suppose if we don't we're down anyway.
I do just wonder if the players knew that any money won from the FA Cup would be used to sign or loan better players than them? Probably just reading too much into it, just trying to find an explanation for how bad that really was. I'd want a refund but we need the money. Shite.

I don’t buy into this Bignot talk its all about him I think. Last week when the fans were cheering all he mentioned was they never stopped singing my name. This week after all the boos and jeering he says the fans had a right to boo the players,Does he think for one minute that none of that was directed at him, because it was from me.My reason is he picked the team he gives them the tactics,we played a side from a lower league did we attack them no .waters and James never attacked always sat deep, and who would have told them to do that, that would be you mr Bignot

You can do all the prep but if the players act unprofessionally on the pitch despite it then the manager is right to criticise them. Let Bignot tear a strip off them. After all the problem we had with McCarthy was his bizarre loyalty to serial under-performers and bad signings

After all the problem we had with McCarthy was his bizarre loyalty to serial under-performers and bad signings I think MB should take some of the blame for today. He dropped Shaw, who would have dealt better with their number 10, than Turnbull. He played Waters, who didn't really get involved at all. He played White, who was ineffective. We changed formation after 20 mins, so presumably had it wrong at the start. If we watched Kiddie, we obviously made mistakes in how we dealt with them. If we didn't watch them, we should have. That's cost us any chance of some extra money as a club. Any chance of a day out for the supporters gone too.

You can’t know everything about everyone after three games which is surely what he had seen prior to today. Yes I get the homework thing. He had mentioned a midweek game to look at what he hasn’t yet seen. He will of learnt s lot today. 5/6 our or we have no hope. I don’t buy the lack of effort or commitment which has been suggested on here. They are just simply not good enough for this level of football imo and ideally need moving on.

I must admit this also crossed my mind aswell and I am sure the players are also aware of the MB squad builder fund, I don't think its as daft as it sounds tbh, lets say you are a sales man and you are under performing but you get a chance to make a big sale, you also hear your work colleagues and boss aren't happy with you and as soon as they make enough money they will end your contract, do you put the effort in and make that sale ?

Not so much game related but 99% of this forum were praising Maccas summer business to high heaven and seem to have retreated now having seen the hindsight. Too many "big names" have come in and not performed, too many injuries and what appears to be lack of fitness have plagued us. If you forget for what we've seen so far and take the strongest starting 11, most of the new additions finished mid-top half last season. So it is that they aren't good enough, or is it still recovery from Super JM?

Reasonable amount of substance to this. It isn’t unreasonable to suggest that as soon as it’s possible some will be replaced/moved on

I wonder if they were complimented by others around them in their sides at the time? We certainly need to oust 5/6 if we are to have any chance on the basis of today’s game.

Full time club from Monday if players don't like it they can leave - Marcus Bignot Perhaps someone needs to explain to Marcus about Constructive Dismissal. You can't make a player train 5 days a week when he is contracted to 3 days, without there being consequences. Depend on whether or not the 3 days part is actually written into the contract.

So it is that they aren't good enough, or is it still recovery from Super JM? On paper the squad should still be largely ok. Obviously some of them can't be bothered and need to either get themselves sorted or just leave by mutual consent. Like I said let's start shipping them out one or two every couple of weeks, on loan if needed, until the rest get the message. Some players are ripping the piss out of the fans and it's got to stop

Based on today’s game. He has only prior to today had three games to assess what he has got. Yes I was alarmed at how far away from what’s likely to be required to keep us up we seem to be. Players out of position it seems. It shows what we could be with over 500 following what lets be honest isn’t very good. This part time training with players who see us as a fit around other commitments is clearly evident. Can anyone clear up the RH situation hadn’t heard of the injury before the game although I’m not based within proximity of the deva. We had well over 500 following us today when a van load was all they deserved? I’m not sure about the lack of commitment etc. Lynch and Astles absolutely gutted with the second goal. We seem on the basis of today some way from what is required at this level. He has been honest after the game and needs to sort this out ASAP if we are to have any chance this season. Yes it wasn’t good enough and one or two could have started instead of what he did opt for. At least he knows those who are not up to playing at this level. Few grumbles against MB disappointing it’s the previous regime and the boards lack of action that leaves things as they are. Regarding full time training you assume he’s had the all clear on this? MB I have faith will diet us out but tho this afternoon makes me feel like I did after the away game at Solihull Moors.

You really had to be there to see it!
Unfortunately, I was!
One of the worst performances from a "professional" team that I can recall!
When our fans, me included, enthusiastically applaud their No.10 as MoM, then you know you've been outplayed by a far better team (he was terrific but to a great extent we made it easy for him)
If MB was under any illusions as to the shortcomings of this sorry rabble, then he isn't now.
I think from his interview that his patience has snapped, he's given them their chance, the whip is about to be cracked big style. I HOPE IT IS!
The booing, chants of disgust and open criticism of certain players is absolutely and totally justified and this comes from a guy who always tries to give people the benefit of the doubt.
To a club like ours, the FA Cup represents (represented) a real chance to generate revenue and enhance the reputation of the club. To capitulate in such a feeble way is bound to incur the wrath of the fans who let's face it spend good money and potential sore throats to support the team all over the country.
No doubt, in the next few days we'll get the usual feeble excuses from the players e.g " the players are gutted", "we feel for the fans", "we're working hard to put things right" etc etc etc. Sorry, but this is wearing very thin.
However it's come about, and everyone has an opinion, there's no getting away from the fact that this is a very poor team that needs immediate and severe surgery to arrest what looks like inevitable relegation something I've, and many others, have been predicting for some time. Of course, this is not going to be straightforward, but, in the same way we slept-walked into the JM situation, we could do the same now unless we get our act together as a club.
Some very hard and major decisions are going to be have to be made in the very near future to rid ourselves of the canker of the JM era and give a proper manager i.e MB a realistic opportunity to get this club onto a proper footballing footing.
It's now mid-October, there's no FA Cup to look forward to. The FA Trophy is still an opportunity but after today I wouldn't hold my breath. That leaves a relegation battle until April - Yippee - what this will do to attendances etc is mind-boggling
Let's cut the crap, this club is hurtling into a real crisis unless action is taken.
